<Abstract>This paper is a study on Enlightenment period short Novel by means of structure. The assumption is,

1. The Enlightenment period short Novel is a kind of fragmental novel with the element of fable and lore, because it is a intentional narrative structure.
2. It is structured by three part, that is the preamble(前文), the core story(中心話), and the additional message(添言), but sometime the preamble gets lost.
3. The out-frame, that is made by the preamble concertes with the additional message, fictionizes and objectifies the core story.
4. The writer has not a conscousness about fiction al structure.
5. The Enlightenment period short Novel is a low genre of Enlightenment period Novel, because it is narrative structure.
