창조적 행위의 미적 기반 - 과학과 예술의 경계횡단 - = Aesthetic Basis of Creative Activity - Crossing the Border of Science and Art -

This article pleads for the revision of the usual understanding of the relationship between science and art. Traversing the border of science and art, the leading human creative activities, we pay attention to the aesthetic which took firm hold in those activity, and then we try to recognize the totality of human creativity. We raise some question to the normative preconception and incorrect idea about science. We reorganize the dualism of science and art, namely the incommensurable competitors. The mutual exclusion has lead in the past to the establishing of a polarity between the rationality of science and the irrationality of art. According to this exclusive dualistic scheme, aesthetics has its place solely in art and is not connected with scientific thought. There is a different view illustrated by many examples which could help in our revision of the long lasting stereotype. We need the training of holistic view into practice. Aesthetics in the sense of ``cognitio sensitivae`` should not be separated from reason. We could consider it a kind of cognitive ability and as an element of cognition, therefore also as an element of scientific cognition. Our strategy is not reductive but humanist. Draw a line of demarcation and polarization of science and arctic are not given a priori but artificially made by human. Scientists intervene his personality in his activity likewise artists. They also forme their own style. Scientific demonstration and aesthetic attitude cooperate and complement each other. The Range and role of the aesthetic are broad and fundamental. The aesthetic takes root deeply in human creative activity regardless of the types of symbolic language. The meaning the aesthetic and its usage transcend the reference of agreeableness or fascination. It is included rightly in the most intricate response of human spirit. Aesthetics is the ability to motivate, guide and articulate the scientific process. It plays the role to build a bridge of reason and feeling, logic and intuition, exactness and beauty, science and art, etc.
