교사들의 디지털교과서 수용 방해요인에 관한 질적 탐색 = A Qualitative study on interference factors in teachers’ acceptance of digital textbooks

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study determines the interference factors in teacher’s acceptance of digital textbooks. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with five teachers from a Digital Textbook Pilot School from February to July 2011. Data was analyzed with grounded theory open coding and axial coding procedures. A total of 24 interference factors of digital textbook acceptance were found and discussed separately on the basis of teachers’ individual level, teacher-student level, teacher-DT related institution level, and teacher-organizations and society level. It was found that the following interfere with teachers’ acceptance of digital textbooks: teachers’ individual level (psychological aversion, mistrust of the product, pressure regarding the adaptation period, insufficient professional knowledge of digital textbooks, fear regarding problem occurrence), teacher-student level (contradiction between planning and execution, student unfamiliarity with computers, insufficient class time, conflict among major learning activities), teacher-DT related institution level (frequent mechanical errors, unstable infrastructure, disconnection of information, inadequate training program, inadequate teacher supporting system, frequent changes by content provider) and teacher-organizations and society level (top-down project execution, lack of communication across the field, abrupt personnel appointments, biased professional appointments, pressure to improve academic achievement, excessive obligations, meritocracy-based structure, limited exchange channels among teachers, autonomous funding). On the basis of these results, policy implications for accelerating the use of digital textbooks are proposed in detail.
