This study analyzed the impact of AI technology perception on daily life satisfaction among elderly North Korean defectors (N=271), as well as the moderating effect of social capital. The results showed that, first, AI perception and social capital each had a significant positive (+) effect on life satisfaction.
Second, social capital had a negative (-) moderating effect on the relationship between AI perception and daily life satisfaction. This implies that the positive influence of AI perception on life satisfaction is significantly stronger among groups with low social capital. Consequently, this study demonstrates that positive perceptions of AI technology can compensate for the lack of social capital and mitigate the isolation experienced by elderly North Korean defectors with weak social networks.
