      A mechanical equipment room with various equipments may be the largest source of noise and vibration. Without sufficient consideration for noise and vibration control in the phase of designing, it causes some problems after completing construction or enormous cost necessary to correct the problems. Therefore, it is essential to consider the method of noise and vibration control, but the systematic guideline of noise and vibration control is not provided yet. This study aims to provide the guideline for noise and vibration control of mechanical equipment and the checklist of vibration isolation. The main results are as follows; The criteria of machinery noise and vibration control is proposed according to the type of space in evaluating noise and vibration which are transmitted from mechanical equipment room to each of apartment units. a) Design criteria of noise control b) Design criteria of vibration control The complementary specifications for the noise and vibration control in the specifications of housing construction and the guidebook for a package bid are investigated. The checklist for the noise and vibration isolation of mechanical equipment room is suggested. It's main contents are as follows; - Selection guide for vibration isolators - Standard calculation sheet and checklist for vibration isolation - Consideration for noise control (sound insulation and absorption) and vibration control in designing The sound levels and vibration acceleration levels generated from main equipments(boiler, draft fan, city water pump, hot water heating circulation pump, etc.) are measured. And the values transmitted from equipment room to outdoors and public area are analyzed.
