사회적 담론과 문학적 담론에서의 성

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 18세기와 ‘성 해방’의 시대라 할 수 있는 1960-70년대의 두 시대를 중심으로 사회적 변화에 따른 성의 담론 구조와 성에 대한 인식에 대하여 고찰된다. 제 1차 년도에서는 성과 에로틱에 대한 사회적 역사적 변천사에 대한 고찰을 위하여 현재 주목받고 있는 노버트 엘리아스 Nobert Elias, 한스 페터 뒤르 Hans Peter Duerr, 미셀 푸코 Michel Foucault 그리고 니클라스 루만 Niklas Luhmann의 이론을 비교 분석하였다. 푸코는 성이 발전과정에서 권력기관과 밀접한 연관성이 이루어지면서 통제되었다고 주장한다. 이러한 통제 하에 성은 한편으로는 침묵하도록 강요되었고, 다른 한편으로는 종교단체, 교육기관, 의학현장 등과 같은 권력기관을 중심으로 성의 담론화가 이루어졌다는 것이다. 엘리아스는 문명화에 따른 성에 대한 인식의 변천과정을 고찰하고 있는데, 여기에서 성에 대한 ‘수치심 Scham’은 문명화과정의 유산이라고 말한다. 엘리아스의 이론과는 달리 뒤르는 성에 대한 부끄러운 감정은 특별한 문화적 역사적 산물이 아니라 인간 본연적인 것이라고 말한다.
제 2차 년도에서는 괴테의 『젊은 베르테르의 고통 Die Leiden des jungen Werthers』과 로버트 메나세 Robert Menasse의 『라만차의 돈주앙 혹은 쾌락 교육 Don Juan de la Mancha oder Die Erziehung der Lust』을 중심으로 문학작품에 나타난 성에 대한 고찰이 이루어진다. 루만이 말하듯이 ‘문학적인 사랑’이나 신화에 나타나는 사랑‘은 그 주제와 중심사상 Leitgedanken을 우연히 선택하는 것이 아니라, 각 사회와 사회의 변화에 반응”하는 것이다. 즉 문학텍스트는 시대적 담론의 수용, 변형, 혹은 비판을 통하여 ‘성에 대한 시대적 행동양식’을 표현한다.
이러한 의미에서 괴테의 『젊은 베르테르의 고통』은 18세기의 사랑과 성에 대한 문학적 담론 구조를 파악하기에 아주 적합한 작품이다. ‘베르테르 소설’은 싱글 남자와 유부녀와의 사랑이라는 내용만 흥미로운 것이 아니라, 편지 형식의 소설이라는 사실도 그 시대의 성 담론과 무관하지 않다.
로버트 메나세의 소설에서는 부제목 ‘쾌락 교육’이 암시하고 있듯이 1960년대 ‘성 혁명’ 전후 시대의 섹슈얼리티의 문제가 다루어진다. 괴테의 ‘베르테르 소설’에서 성은 사랑과 도덕과 밀접한 관계가 있다. 그 반면 메나세의 소설에서는 도덕이나 사랑이 문제되는 것이 아니라 제목이 말해주듯이 ‘쾌락’의 문제가 다루어진다. 또한 결혼이라는 제도는 유지되지만 혼외정사와 이혼은 흔한 일로 나타난다. 이 소

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, I will research into the discourse on sexuality and the perception of sexuality in the 18th century and the 1960s. In the 18th century, there are fundamental changes in thinking about sexuality. The sexual liberation is achieved in the 1960s. In the first researching year, it is about a history of sexuality that has been changed with time and it focuses on the sexuality theory of Michel Foucault, Nobert Elias, Hans Peter Duerr and Niklas Luhmann.
According to Foucault, the history of sexuality should be considered primarily as a history of the oppression and control. Sexuality is associated only with reproduction since the 18th century and silence spreads around Sexuality. Elias researches the change of the sexual behavior which the process of the civilization caused. According to Elias, feeling shame at sexuality is the product of the civilization process. Hans Peter Duerr presents a evident contrast to Elias. According to Duerr, shameful feelings about sexuality is not a cultural or historical product, but belongs to human nature.
