This is the first report of a human gnathostomiasis in Korea. The patient was a 60 years old male. General appearance was well, and his chief complaints were abdominal discomfort and abdominal distension.

This is the first report of a human gnathostomiasis in Korea. The patient was a 60 years old male. General appearance was well, and his chief complaints were abdominal discomfort and abdominal distension.
We couldn't take any questions in this patient but hematological finding showed eosinophilia.
In patient stool examination, we found many eggs. The eggs were 11-13㎛ in length, 6.3-6.9㎛ im width, and the shapes were ovoidal, transparent. They had a mucoidal plug at one end and were enembryonated.
