어간의 끝음절 하- 준말 표기 양상 -국민 통합 차원의 「한글 맞춤법」을 모색하며 = The Aspect of spelling a shortened word of the final syllable of stem 하-(ha-) -Seeking 「Korean orthography」in terms of national integration

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper found by performing a field investigation aimed at Seoul speech that Section 5. a shortened word, Article 40 of the current Korean orthography rules does not fit into our linguistic intuition, which causes inconvenience. It may be summarized as follows. First, although the rule states that when the final syllable of stem ``하 (ha)`` is completely shortened, it should be written as shortened., Seoul speech shows that shortening ‘ㅏ(a)’ of ‘하(ha)’ is preferred to shortening ‘하 (ha)’ completely ``when ``하(ha)`` is placed under voiceless plosive final consonant. Second, no matter what it is to be placed in front of the final syllable of stem ``하(ha)``, voiced sounds or voiceless plosives, shortening ‘ㅏ(a)’ of ‘하 (ha)’ is preferred by speakers of Seoul speech. It isn`t affected by a gender, professional, or regional factor. Third, the above rule is best suited for the 60 age group. Therefore, it needs to be modified in light of national integration.
