The subjects of this research work are 11 five-year-old children(10 boys and 1 girl) of doragiggot class of D kindergarten and a teacher who is a investigator of this study. This research was done from March 3rd to May 19th, 2009, and for this period, conducting of emotional intelligence pre and post inspection, sharing emotional intelligence-related records, and teacher's writing of a reflective journal were put into practice. As for the research tools, emotional intelligence inspection, record works, activities of sharing with a child, and teacher's reflective journal were used. For the emotional intelligence inspection tool, Mayer and Salovey(1997)'s emotional intelligence 4 fields and 「emotional intelligence evaluation tool for a child by teacher's composer」developed by younja lee, jongsook lee, and eunsu shin(2000) were used, on the basis of 16 elements of the subordinate level of each field. To select children for the subject of this study, I conducted a series of emotional intelligence measurement inspection and selected 11 children out of it. For the standard of it, first, 8 children who are under the average score in the class, secondly, 1 child who is having a big variation of each field, and his subordinate level's score does not reach the average score of each field, thirdly, two children whose emotional intelligence measurement score belongs in the high level and are relatively having a vigorous conversation with their friends. Investigator recorded the emotional intelligence-related scenes through a picture, video, and recorder to capture the situations which are related to children's emotional intelligence, from their attendance at the kindergarten to their returning home time; and I analyzed the relation with the emotional intelligence by looking back at the records. Also, I utilized the checklist for the children of the object of this study to form a relatively equal participated rate. Emotional intelligence-related record works were utilized for the material for sharing with children who are the objects of this study. Separated spaces away from the classroom were used for sharing activities to be done at the better atmosphere of calm and restfulness and to exclude any obstructive components in the process of the children's conversation. The time required was about 20 to 25 minutes, and it was practiced 25 times in total. While the time investigator was going on process of sharing activities with the children, a fellow teacher had a time for the free choice activity with the rest of the children. For the first research problem, I compared the transitions of change of the emotional intelligence measurement scores by carrying out the pre and post inspection, and for the second research problem, I scoped on the journal describing the feeling for sharing the emotional intelligence-related record works and the change of thoughts.
To sum up the results of this study, first, sharing the emotional intelligence-related record works with the children had a positive influence on a child's emotional intelligence. For the reason of it, the activity of sharing made children get to recognize the problem situation regarding children's facial expression and appearance, communication process, behavior, and so on. And they got to compare each other's perspective through a vigorous communication process between peers; the recognition about each other's opinion and the process of solving the conflict situations are seen as a basic leading figure for the development of the emotional intelligence. In addition to that, the record works having their story made them to be interested in each other more, and it has a positive effect on the development of the emotional intelligence by promoting the motivation about desirable behaviors. Secondly, sharing the emotional intelligence-related record works with children had a positive impact on the change of investigator's attitude. By looking at the children participating in the sharing activity, investigator's recognition regarding sharing has been changed. I, as a investigator, experienced a change of perspective that social individualism, which individual's experience becomes just a collective experience, can be studied, and I also got to see a participating child more competent. Also, investigator's reflective thinking and teaching-instruction methods for the development of emotional intelligence have been improved through the record works and sharing activities.
