      The author studied serological characteristics of saline extract of Alisma plantago L. native to Korea. Tests performed were hemagglutination activities to human and animal red blood cell, agglutination activity to human sperm, agglutination titer, absorption test, agglutination inhibition test by saliva and sugars, heat stability test and agglutination activities of each agglutinin fractionated by salting out.
      The results could be summarized as follows:
      1. Hemo-and sperm-agglutinin were identified in Alisma plantago L. native to Korea.
      2. Hemoagglutinin in Alisma Plantago L. was proved to be pan-agglutinin and not related to specificity of human blood group or animal species.
      3. Sperm agglutinin in Alisma plantago L. was pan-agglutinin to human sperm and not related to specificity to blood group.
      4. Sperm from non-secretor was not agglutinated by pan-sperm-agglutinin in Alisma plantago L.
      5. Pan-hemagglutinin and pan-sperm agglutinin in Alisma plantago L. revealed identical characteristics by serologic tests.
