수줍은 아동과 일반 아동의 친구관계 비교연구: 상호적 친구 유무, 사회적 행동특성 및 친구관계의 질을 중심으로 = Best Friends, Social behavior Characteristics and The Friendship Quality of Shy Children in Comparison to Non-shy Children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The main purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of shy children's friendships compared to a non-shy group. The participants were 96 shy children and 80 control children identified from 415 5th to 6th grade elementary school children. The data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed by both chi-square test and t-test. Our results indicated that 1) Shy children had more mutual best friends than non-shy children. 2) Shy children with a best friend reported higher levels of victimization and lower popularity in social relationships than non-shy children. 3) Regarding the issue of the quality of friendships, Shy children with a best friend generally reported similar levels of friendship quality as those non-shy children who had a best friend.
