In construction of embankment over soft strata in road and river, Geotextile has been increasingly used recently after identified that it was very economical and effective as seperater, reinforceing material, and filter of soft ground.
This study deals with the effects of bearing capacity, permeability and stability by computing using STABR program of Modified Simplified Bishop method.
The STABR program is applied to Hyunsan River and Hakkyo River embankments for the stability analysis in cases of with and without Geotextile.
The conclusions are as follows;
1) The increase of safety of river embankment is not so much in case of with Geotextile.
2) From the results of permeability varying procedure analysis for the embankment construction of Sapkyo dyke. it reveals about 100 times as decreased as initial permeability coefficient in one year.
