This paper explores trends in research regarding education methods for Korean word endings, as recorded in postgraduate dissertations. The analysis of research approaches has been divided into four chronological periods. The first period(1986-2000) can be described as the starting period. The early research focused on educational methods for the Korean language as a whole. The second period(2001-2003) addressed the native language of the students. During this period researchers took into consideration the native language of the students when analyzing education methods. The third period(2004-2005) expanded from educational methods regarding words to include those addressing phrases. Research topics went from `words` to `phrases`. During the most recent period (2006-2008), studies have addressed a whole range of endings.
