The purpose of this study is to understand the growth curves and the growth velocity curves between both sexes by measurement of standing height, body weight, sitting height, chest girth, upper limb length, lower limb length.
The materials used for this study are cross-sectional data of the six items from 6 to 17 age in 670 boys and 694 girls, living now in Gumi-Kyoung Pook.
The method is as follows: twelve age points from 6 to 17 age are plotted for boys and girls by the cross-sectional recordings in the measurement items and age on the figure, in which the measurement item is represented on the abscissa and the age on the ordinate in logarithms, respectively.
The conclusion obtained is as follows:
1. Growth Curve.
The growth curves of the both sexes are to show almost linear growth curves as the age increased.

The age of stopping growth
If I check the growth curves of six items, the standing height and sitting height shows the phenomenon at the same time.
The earliest slow down of growth is lower limb length, latest is body weight.
2. Growth Velocity Curve.
The age at which Peak Velocity was reached.

The means of peak velocity age, both sexes, appears standing height, sitting height, upper limb length are all in harmony and chest girth, body weight are in harmony, too. But lower limb length shows another growth pattern.
The earliest peak velocity is lower limb length, the latest is chest girth and body weight.
The Peak Height Velocity and Sitting Height Velocity appears menarcheal age 2.5 years before and as soon as menarcheal age begins sharply diminish growth.
The Peak Weight Velocity and Chest Girth velocity appears menarcheal age 1.5 years before and as soon as menarcheal age begins some increased.
The peak Height Velocity is two years earlier to the boys and one year earlier to the girls than the peak weight velocity
