In this study, the types of perception that adolescent girls studying ballet have concerning food intake were found, and to identify their characteristics the Q methodology useful for subjectivity studies was used. In the midst of the social atmospheres of the modern age where lookism takes the center stage, the number of women suffering due to indiscreet dieting is on the rise, as the ages of women interested in their outward appearance are getting younger and younger. For that reason, concrete and systematic guidance for forming the proper way of thinking regarding the physique and diet for students in their growth stage is needed at home and school. Selected as P samples were 26 adolescent girls studying ballet, who were made to classify a total of 31 samples. Main factor analysis of the collected data was conducted through the pc-QUANL program, and as a result, three types of perception were seen: “sweet temptation,” “instinctive desire” and “well-being.” Looking at the characteristics as pertain to the types, it was found that the first type of “sweet temptation” is “eating is difficult to control and overeating is always accompanied by regret,” and the second type of “instinctive desire” is “eating is not refraining and eating with friends is more delicious,” and the third type of “well-being” is “good food is needed for health of the people and it plays an important role in relationships.” And the commonality fund in the three types was the recognition that “temptation of good food is difficult to resist and in particular its role is important in providing pleasure in meeting friends.” The characteristics of the types shown in this study are deemed to be meaningful materials needed for teaching adolescent girls studying ballet the proper way of thinking about diet.
