This study aims to not only examine effective ways to incorporate older workers in the U.S. organizations but also provide specific guidelines to better support older workers in various organizations, based on the aging workforce’s characteristics. By using an integrated literature review method, the study analyzes organizational cases that successfully accommodate older workers for their workplace improvement and job satisfaction. Based on generational differences on cognitive and communication styles, the study’s findings provide a synthesis of suitable solutions for accommodating an aging workforce ranging from human resource strategies to training/learning and ergonomic working conditions in the workplace. These findings also reveal that organizations need to provide dedicated, alternative supports for enhancing older workers’ learning and productivity. Futhermore, we proposed a need for future research focusing on not only their career path/status but also collaborative cases among diverse stakeholders to better support older workers and their impacts at the individual and societal level. We finalized the study with practical guidelines for both organizations and individuals to develop strategies for effective learning, development, and knowledge transfer for older workers, as well as policy agendas.
