일본 중학교 역사 교과서의 센카쿠 제도 기술 연구-2011년, 2015년, 2020년, 2024년 검정통과본을 중심으로- = A Study on the Description of the Senkaku Islands in Japanese Middle School History Textbooks -Focus on 2011, 2015, 2020, and 2024 authorized textbooks-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고의 목적은 일본의 중학교 역사교과서가 센카쿠 제도를 어떻게 기술하고 있고, 기술의 변화가 있었는지, 그 특징이 무엇인지를 밝히는 것이다. 이를 위해 2011년, 2015년, 2020년, 2024년 교과서 검정에 합격한 9종의 중학교 역사 교과서의 센카쿠 제도 관련 기술을 검토한다.
연구 결과, 첫째, 2011년 역사 교과서는 센카쿠 제도를 대부분 다루고 있지 않았다. 센카쿠 제도에 대한 본문 기술은 없었으며, 대부분 센카쿠 제도의 명칭을 표기하거나 그렇지 않은 상태로 일본의 영역 안에 위치시킨 지도를 제시하는 정도였다. 둘째, 2015년 역사 교과서는 센카쿠 제도 관련 본문 기술을 크게 늘리고 관련 사진과 지도도 추가하면서 센카쿠 제도 관련 설명을 양적·질적으로 크게 강화했다. 셋째, 2020년 역사 교과서는 2015년의 설명을 대부분 비슷하게 유지하거나 일부 강화했고, 2024년 역사 교과서는 2020년의 설명과 대부분 동일했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines how Japanese middle school history textbooks describe the Senkaku Islands and what factors have led to changes in their descriptions. To do so, we examine the Senkaku Islands-related descriptions in nine middle school history textbooks(Tokyo Shokudo, Imperial Shokudo, Education Publishing, Nihon Bunko Shokudo, Ikuhosha, Shimizu Shokudo, Jiyusha, Manabisha, and Yamakawa Shokudo) that passed the textbook inspection in 2011, 2015, 2020, and 2024.
The study found that, first, the Senkaku Islands were largely absent from history textbooks in 2011. There were no textual descriptions of the Senkaku Islands, and most of the textbooks presented maps of the Senkaku Islands with or without naming them and placing them within the territory of Japan. Second, the 2015 history textbooks significantly increased the number of textual descriptions of the Senkaku Islands and added relevant photographs and maps, greatly enhancing their descriptions both in quantity and quality. Third, the 2020 history textbooks largely maintained or enhanced the 2015 descriptions, and the 2024 history textbooks were largely the same as the 2020 descriptions.
