교통서비스와 사회적 배제 : 서울시의 사례연구 = Transport Services and Social Exclusion in Seoul, Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The paper investigates the spational pattern of transport-related social exclusion during the post-1997 financial crisis in Seoul. This study is based on the notion that the structural factors embedded in the urban spatial development process need to be considered in order to better understand social exclusion in the city. It is because the social exclusion needs to be tackled in terms of both personal and spatial dimensions. The study highlights that transport-related social exclusions in Seoul represent a clear spatial pattern in terms of economic, geographical and functional exclusions respectively. This reflects that the differentiated results in both personal and area mobility are determined by the shift to multi-centric urban spatial structure as well as the spatial distribution of income in the city.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 1997년 외환위기 이후 우리나라에서 본격적으로 논의되고 있는 사회적 배제현상에 있어 교통과 관련된 배제에 대하여 서울시를 사례로 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 도시 내 사회적 배제에 대한 보다 진전된 이해를 위해서 도시공간의 발달과정에 내재된 구조적 요소에 초점을 두어야 한다는 점에서 출발하였다. 사회적 배제는 개인적 차원에서도 접근해야 하지만 공간적 차원에서도 접근해야 하기 때문이다. 서울시의 경우, 경제적 배제, 지리적 배제 및 기능적 배제 등의 측면에서 고찰한 결과, 교통과 관련된 사회적 배제의 뚜렷한 공간패턴이 나타난다. 이는 단핵도시에서 다핵도시로의 변화와 소득의 공간적 분포에 따라 개인적 이동성과 지역적 이동성에 있어 차별화된 모습이 규정된다는 점을 나타내는 것이다.
