인격 완성을 위한 성찰과 실천 -아우구스티누스의 『고백록』과 맹자 수양론을 중심으로- = Reflection and Practice for the Completion of Personality -Focusing on Augustinus` Confessiones and Mencius Ethics-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of the study is to discuss how we reach a sound judgement when one is torn between choices on life’s pathway by focusing on Augustinus`` Confessiones and Mencius ethics. For the purpose of the study, this paper attempts to answer the following three questions: What is the concept of human nature, free will, and transcendental existence based on Augustinus and Mencius’s explanations?; what are the issues of the fundamental reflections on sin and self-deception?; how do we practice maintaining goodness? This paper suggests that Mencius’s vast-flowing spirit(浩然之氣) has a significant implication for resolving social problems where moral frigidity is rampant. As highlighted by Mencius, one could cultivate Bu Dong Xin(不動心), a spiritual realm only to be attained by way of sang ji(尙志), zhi yan(知言), yang qi(陽氣), and sang wo(尙友), in order to deal with any difficult situations with an imperturbable peace of mind.
