원기100년대와 원불교학의 정체성 문제 = Won-Buddhism of 100 Years and the Issue of Identity Wonbulgyohak

국문 초록 (Abstract)

원불교학은 1916년 원불교의 교조인 소태산 박중빈(1891-1943)의 대각과 함께 시작 한 원불교의 종교적 특성을 학문적 기법을 통해 본질적으로 변증하고 유지하는데 그 특색을 드러내야 하는 과제가 있다. 그런 의미에서 원불교학이란 원불교를 대상으로 하고 분류와 방법을 선행시켰을 때 이루어지는 학문이다. 더불어 학문(Science)으로서의 원불교학은 “원불교적”이라 불릴수 있는 주관적인 것을 대상으로 “가급적 객관적인 시각”에서 실증적으로 검토해 나가야 하는 과학적 탐구를 요구한다. 따라서 원불교학은 학문적인 개방성과 더불어 원불교의 신앙과 수행을 동시에 경건하게 추구해야 하는 강도 높은 면면들을 연구자에게 요구하는 특징이 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 관점을 가지고 원불교 100년의 종교문화시대에 성립되어지는 원불교학의 전개과정의 본질과 전망을 고찰의 대상으로 삼는다. 특히 크리스트교 신학과 불교의 교학에 비해 짧은 경험과 근대적 학문의 바탕위에 서 있는 원불교학의 특징을 살려, 기존의 신학과 불교학의 전개 과정의 과제들을 분석해 보고자 한다. 이러한 노력은 100년을 맞이하는 원불교학의 현실이 동일·영속·불변한 것을 맞이하여 가변적 혹은 일시적인 것과 어떻게 도전하고 응전하는 체제로 굳어져 왔으며, 오늘날의 종교적 요구를 실행하고 있는지의 진단을 가능하게 해 줄 것이다.
