    The purpose of this study was to evaluate 5–year-olds' peer rejection and preference and its correlation with the teacher-child relationship, and young children's perceptions about their social relationships. Research interviews were conducted with 106 children at 7 preschools or child care centers in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviations, independent t-test, and Pearson's correlation analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program. The results were as follows: First, 5-year-olds designated only a small number of peers as those who they disliked playing with and many peers as those who they liked playing with. Second, teachers' perceptions about their relationships with the children was positively correlated with their peers' preference for children and negatively correlated with their peers' avoidance of children.

    본 연구의 목적은 5세 유아의 또래에 대한 거부 및 선호의 정도와 또래로부터의 거부 및 선호, 그리고 교사-유아의 관계를 살펴보는데 있다. 연구는 수도권에 있는 7곳의 유치원 및 보육기관에 다니는 107명의 유아를 대상으로 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균과 표준편차를 구하고, 독립 t-test와 pearson's의 적률상관분석을 실시하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 5세 유아는 함께 놀고 싶지 않은 친구는 적은 반면, 함께 놀고 싶은 친구는 많이 꼽는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 또래로부터의 거부 및 선호는 유아에 대한 교사의 인식과 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
