유아교육,보육 통합 모델 구축 = Constructing the Model for the Integrated Early Childhood Education and Care

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper was addressed the problems with split system of early childhood education and care (ECEC), reviewed the benefits and efficiency of delivery of an integrated ECEC, and finally suggested the integration model of ECEC. The model was based on the review of reports related to efforts for the integration of ECEC by OECD countries and domestic reports conducted by KEDI, KICCE, as well as articles in academic journals. The proposed model for equity and quality was based on two assumptions; to sustain the diversity of programs and to reflect the educational and developmental benefits of kindergarten and child care center. Seven dimensions for integration system of ECEC were considered: administration, regulation, and support system, age, hours, curriculum, teacher training, qualification, and salary, standards of facility funding and service fee paid by parents. This model will be helpful to re-construct the relationship between kindergarten and child care center and to reduce the gap in terms of efficiency, equity, and quality.
