Aims of this research are to understand the level of interest and the level of difficulty in technology and home Economics subject, and furthermore how they feel about the curriculum for second grade middle school students. The research concludes as follows:
First, according to sex, male students had more interest in technology, whereas female students had more interest in home economics. According to region, students in Chungnam were interested in technology, and students in Jeonnam in home economics. Also, students with higher academic performance took more interest in technology compared to those with lower academic performance.
Second, female students found the technology curriculum more difficult than male students did. Students in Jeonnam region found the technology curriculum more difficult than students in Chungnam did. In addition, the lower their scores in technology/home economics subject, the more difficult they found the curriculum to be.
Third, students had difference perspectives on the contents of technology/home economics curriculum according to sex, region and overall academic performance. Male students and students with higher academic performance had positive perspectives on the textbook curriculum. And students in Chungnam region had positive perspectives on technology, while students in Jeonnam had more positive perspectives on home economics curriculum.
