In this research, we survey the architecture and operation of smart media interfaces, for embedded system applications, which is used for a smart Gadget system. We show and analyze the operations of a SD card media interface to investigate the functions and components for the media interface technologies in the light-weighted intelligent operating system. The SD card interface technology in the light-weighted operating system kernel is implemented and tested for a new prototype Gadget system which supports a smart media interface for the intelligent personal information services.
