We suggested some ideas in this article regarding teaching-learning methods of reading in the viewpoint of Constructivism especially Social Constructivism. For this we analysed several descriptions on Korean class experiences in primary and secondary schools, written by new students of a university during 2006-2007. The descriptions showed that students have more positive and strong impressions when the reading methods had been centered on students, i.e the reading classes larger transactions took place between students or between students and teacher, such as questions and answers, writing scripts for play after reading, etc. Unfortunately it seemed that most of the classes in primary and secondary schools didn`t have such a active transactions between students and teacher, or between a student and another student. Comparing behaviorism, Cognitive Constructivism and Social Constructivism, we could get an effective teaching-learning idea from Social Constructivism, which play an important role for improving reading classes. In conclusion, we suggested that reading is a thinking process enlarging and integrating Semantic field of text through social-cultural context, and the following formula which means a reading ability is proportioned to reader(i.e. reader`s schema, skill and strategy), and is inverse proportion to text and context complexities. RA=f(????) T×C The suggestions need some more concrete elaborations, and we hope to do so in the near future.
