The relation between fetal femur length (FL) and fetal abdominal circumference (AC) with gestational age (GA) were determined by analysis of 2648 cases examined with a real-time ultrasonography. The fetal femur length showed better relation to gestational age than abdominal circumference, but there was decreased relation of femur length to gestational age due to decreased growth rate in third trimester of pregnancy. This analysis demonstrated that significant improvement in the variability in predicting menstrual age can be achieved when the two parameters(FL & AC) are used collectively instead of a single parameter used individually.
