문묘제례악의 한배 변화와 그 배경에 대한 고찰

국문 초록 (Abstract)

문묘제례악은 아악 중 하나로, 조선초 복원되어 현재까지 연주되고 있다. 제례의 절차, 악기, 가 사, 선율, 춤 등은 거의 그대로 유지되고 있으나 연주의 빠르기는 많이 변했다. 현재 음원이 전하는 1920년대의 빠르기를 기준으로 할 때에 70, 80년대에는 약 1.3배 느려졌고, 90년대에는 약 2배 느 려져서 한 박이 6-7초 소요된다. 이렇게 느린 음악이 있다는 것이 국악의 특징 중 하나인데, 이런 음악이 본래부터 느렸는지, 아니 면 전승과정에서 느려졌는지를 알아보기 위해 18세기, 19세기, 20세기의 악보에 수록된 여민락을 비교, 분석하였다. 그 결과 느린 음악은 19세기 이후 3단계의 과정을 거쳐 느려졌다고 추론하였고, 문묘제례악도 그와 궤를 같이 하는 것으로 보았다. 느린 음악이 나타난 원인의 하나로 유교적 가치 관을 언급했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Munmyojeryeak is one of Aak made in the early period of Choseon dynasty and still played today. While the processes of the ceremony, the instruments, the lyrics, the tunes, and the dance have been maintained, the tempo has been changed. The tempo in the 1970s and 1980s was 1.3 times slower and than that of the 1990s and 2 times slower than that of 1920s. Thus, one beat of the 1990s is sustained for 6 or 7 seconds. The very slow music like this is the one of the characteristics of Korean music. For this study, I was interested in learning whether the tempo of the very slow music was slow from old times, or was changed through time. In order to find out, I analyzed Yeomillak in the old music books, Sokakweonbo(18c), Samjukkumbo(19c), Aakbuakbo(20c). It appears that the tempo of Yeomillak was changed into a slower form through 3 stages, and that the circumstances of Munmyojeryeak were same. It also appears that Confucianism played a role in the slowing down of the music.
