Human milk samples taken from 78 healthy lactating women in Suweon area were analyzed to find out the changes of the general and vitamin contents during 5 different lactation period. The results were as follows;
1. The average contents of protein, fat, lactose, ash, and moisture in human milk were 1.25±0.05, 3.56±0.45, 6.82±0.58, 0.21±0.08, and 87.88±0.98%, respectively.
2. The protein and ash were significantly decreased from 1.86 and 0.26% to 1.18 and 0.18%, but the contents of fat, lactose, and total solid were gradually increased from 2.95, 6.18, and 11.87% to 3.72, 7.02, and 12.25% during lactation period, respectively.
3. Protein, fat, and lactose showed positive correlation with total solid. Ash showed positive correlation with protein but it showed negative correlation with other constituents.
4. Vitamin contents of colostrum were 270 IU/100g of vit. A, trace of vit. B_1, 0.03mg/l00g of vit. B_2, 8.5㎍/l00g of vit. B_6, 0.06㎍/100g of vit. B_12, 3.4mg/100g of vit. C, 0.7mg/l00g of vit. E, and 0.2㎍/100g of vit. K_1. vit. A, β-carotene. vit. E decreased, but vit. C and B groups increased during lactation period.
