Abrasive jet machining (AJM) has a large number of parameters such as powder flow rate, air pressure, diameter of abrasive, stand off distance, material hardness and fracture toughness, etc. It is not easy matter to control those parameter. To achieve high accurate machining, in this study, Taguchi method was used to select process parameters. The objective of the optimization was to get higher material removal rate (MRR). From the experiments and analysis, some process parameters were found to make efficient machining.

The optimal design of a large-size fully hydraulic breaker is studied in this paper. Mathematical modeling of the breaker is established and verified by experiments. Through sensitivity analysis, the key design parameters of the breaker are selected, which mostly affect the performance of the breaker. Taguchi method is used to optimize the key design parameters in order to maximize the output power through simulation using AMESim. As a result, the impact energy is increased by 18.9% and the output power is increased by 12.4% compared with the current design. The pressure pulsation in the supply line is also reduced by the optimization.
다구찌 방법을 이용한 전기자동차 구동계의 진동 억제 제어

Torsional oscillations of the drivetrain in electric vehicles are generated under rapid driving conditions. These lead to an uncomfortable jerking of the vehicle and an increased stress of the mechanical components. To suppress torsional oscillations, the low pass and notch filters between the torque command from the acceleration pedal and electric motor input torque are suggested. The filter parameters are optimized based on Taguchi method with L18(3?)orthogonal array. The signal to noise (S/N) ratio mainly depends on slew rate of motor input torque, damping ratio and natural frequency of notch filter. With the proposed suppression control scheme, the S/N ratio is shown to be increased by 4.7dB and the torque overshoot of the drive shaft is reduced to 30%.
다구찌 방법을 이용한 초음파 가공의 최적가공조건에 관한 연구

초음파 가공(Ultrasonic Machining:USM)은 새로운 기계가공기술 분야 중의 하나이다. 초음파 가공 과정은 비열, 비화학, 그리고 비전도의 방법이기 때문에 공작물 재료의 물리적, 화학적 변화가 없다. 이러한 특성으로 인해 초음파 가공기술은 유리, 세라믹 등과 같은 취성재료의 가공에 적합하다. 그러나 단점으로는 초음파 진동을 이용하여 취성재료를 가공하는 경우 크랙이 빈번하게 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 유리와 세라믹의 미세 구멍가공에서 다구찌 방법을 이용하여 크랙발생을 최소화하는 최적의 가공조건을 얻고자 하였다. 이를 통해 공작물의 입구 및 출구에서 발생하는 크랙 현상을 감소시켰다. Ultrasonic machining (USM) is a new method used in metal cutting. This process does not involve heating or any electrochemical effects, causes low surface damage, has small residual stress, and does not rely on the conductivity of the workpiece. These characteristics are suitable for the machining of brittle materials such as glass or ceramics. However, the use of USM for brittle materials generates cracks on the workpiece. Therefore, in this study, Taguchi’s method was used to optimize the processing conditions of micro holes drilled in glass and ceramics. This method was used to successfully reduce the number of cracks at the entrance and the exit of the micro holes.
다구찌 방법을 이용한 고속/정밀 위치제어시스템의 강인한 제어게인 선정에 관한 연구

This paper presents a dynamic modeling and a robust PID controller design process for the wire bonder head assembly. For the modeling elements, the system is divided into electrical system, magnetic system, and mechanical system. Each system is modeled by using the bond graph method. The PID controller is used for high speed/high accuracy position control of the wire bonder assembly. The Taguchi method is used to evaluate the more robust PID gain combinations than conventional one. This study makes use of an L18 array with three parameters varied on three levels. Computer simulations and experimental results show that the designed PID controller provides more improved signal to noise ratio and reduced sensitivity than the conventional PID controller.
이산화된 탐색공간에서 다구찌 방법을 이용한 구조 최적설계에 관한 연구

Nowadays, there are several design problem having discrete variables in the industrial fields. The researchers are using the optimization method, such as genetic algorithm (GA), simulated annealing (SA), design of experiment (DOE) and taguchi method (TM), to solve it's design problem. Moreover, people want to decrease the computational cost and time. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed the iterative optimization algorithm which repetitively searched a local region to find best solution in discrete searching space using TM. The optimal solution in each local region is obtained by S/N ratio for the evaluation function that consists of the objective function and penalty function. Also, we have applied our algorithm to 3-bar, 10-bar, and 25-bar truss optimization problem.

This paper present the optimal cleaning condition of the out-hull preprocessing robot by Taguchi method in design of experiments. A L?(2⁴) orthogonal array is adopted to study the effect of adjustment parameters. The adjustment parameters consist of robot speed, motor torque, motor speed and tool angle. And the quality feature is selected as surface roughness of sheet metal. Taguchi analysis is performed in order to evaluate the effect of adjustment parameters of the quality feature of cleaning process by Minitab<SUP>®</SUP>.
다구찌 방법과 실험계획법을 이용한 농기계용 소음기의 최적화에 관한 연구

본 연구에서는 배기계의 소음 조감을 위한 소음기의 성능향상에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 기존의 파동방정식에 의한 전달 매트릭스법(transfer matrix method)과 유한요소법(FEM) 대신 다구찌 방법과 일부실시법을 이용하여 오버올 레벨을 최대로 하는 최적조건을 찾아내었다. 기존설계안을 바탕으로 성능에 영향을 미친다고 생각되는 각 부품의 길이와 반경등을 인자로 선정하였다. L18, L27 직교배열표를 사용하여 인자를 배치하였으며 1/3 일부실시법을 통하여 어떤 교호작용이 유의한지를 찾아내었다. 소음·진동제어연구실에서 개발한 LAEXS라는 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 찾아낸 최적조건에서 기존의 설계안보다 오버올 레벨은 26.9 dB, SN비는 1.39dB 증가하는 효과를 가져왔다. In this study, we accomplished research of improving the muffler's capacity for reduction noise of exhaust system. Instead of using transfer matrix method by wave equation and finite element methods, we find optimal condition that maximizes overall level by using Taguchi methods and fractional factorial design. On the basis of existing design, we selected factors such as length and radius of each component that was thought to effect to capacity of muffler, factors are arranged by using L18, L27 table of orthogonal array, also, we found some significant interaction effects by using 1/3 fractional factorial design. For this simulation, we use the LAEXS which was developed in the laboratory of noise and vibration control. From the simulation results, compared with the existing design, overall level increased 26.9 dB and SN ratio increased 1.39 dB.

Application of ceramic has increased due to excellent mechanical properties, and machining of ceramic has demanded gradually a precision surface machining. For decreasing the surface roughness, the control of IED lapping parameters is very important. This paper deal with the analysis of the process parameters such as applied forces, percentage of h-BN and IED lapping time, developed based on Taguchi method. Also, SEM was used for monitoring of a machinable ceramic surface.
