The purpose of this study is to empirically elucidate the causal mechanisms through which environmental stimuli within servicescapes transfer to Wellness Space Experience Modules (WSEMs) via visitors' cognitive processes in wellness retail environments. As contemporary health paradigms shift toward a holistic lifestyle integrating both physical and mental well-being, the role of offline retail spaces is being redefined; they are evolving beyond mere transactional venues for product sales into experiential environments that foster the healing and personal growth of visitors. However, existing literature remains predominantly confined to verifying the linear relationships between environmental stimuli and satisfaction. Consequently, empirical research exploring the comprehensive causal trajectories—specifically, how spatial cues convert into concrete wellness experiential responses through the mediation of visitor cognition—remains notably insufficient. To address this gap, this study establishes an empirical framework grounded in affordance theory and the Stimulus-Mechanism-Response (S-M-R) model. Data regarding the servicescape attributes of urban wellness retail spaces were gathered through systematic field observations, while qualitative insights into internal cognitive contexts were secured via in-depth interviews with participants who had direct exposure to the target environments. The qualitative datasets were hierarchically structured utilizing the affinity diagram technique. This methodological approach successfully delineated the sequential transfer processes, demonstrating how external environmental stimuli are cognitively interpreted within four core dimensions of the wellness experience: sensory experience, behavioral practice, social interaction, and sustainable design, and how they ultimately culminate in specific wellness experiential responses. The empirical analysis yielded several key findings. First, within the dimension of sensory experience, a distinct mechanism was identified wherein visual environmental stimuli at the spatial entry perceptually buffer physical constraints, thereby stimulating exploratory anticipation. Second, regarding behavioral practice, structured circulation guides and optimized information systems mitigate cognitive information overload, thereby enhancing the functional efficiency and convenience of task execution. Third, in the dimension of social interaction, curated product environments effectively visualize brand identity, which subsequently deepens emotional resonance and alignment with the brand. Lastly, within the sustainable design dimension, holistic environmental stimuli that encompass daily life activities extend fragmentary consumption experiences into enduring life routines, thereby completing the cognitive internalization of wellness values. By comprehensively delineating a macroscopic, integrated causal chain wherein the physical environment directly governs the internalization of a lifestyle, this study offers distinctive academic and practical implications. Theoretically, it transcends the simplistic evaluation of spatial satisfaction by demonstrating a structured causal model where servicescape stimuli transfer into multidimensional WSEMs through the lens of affordance. Practically, it provides a comprehensive experience analysis framework that organically connects consumers' daily needs with store values, thereby presenting a strategic direction for spatial planning to efficiently control cognitive stress. Furthermore, it demonstrates that a life-aligned curation strategy serves as a pivotal spatial mechanism that drives long-term lifestyle changes beyond the visitor's simple consumption experience.

With the aging population of 10 million, and the approaching super-aged society, the way the elderly look at their old age is also changing. Some elderly people with financial leeway have found a silver town where they can live their lives comfortably by using food, clothing and shelter and basic medical management services in order to improve the quality of their lives in old age. However, the new term "silver town refugee" has emerged in a situation where proper facilities with the elements they want cannot enter even if they have money. In order to plan proper facilities that satisfy their needs, a study on the wellness space of silver town that helps improve the quality of life by harmonizing physical and mental health and helps them age health is needed. In this study, an urban silver town wellness space was evaluated and characteristics were identified through an urban silver town wellness space analysis, and an urban silver town was planned on a lot other than 656 Jeongneung-dong. For the actively operated silver town study, the scope of the city center was limited to downtown Seoul, and the silver town was limited to facilities that provided medical health, meals, convenience of life, safety management, and cultural and leisure services. Silver town and wellness are considered through theoretical consideration and the definitions and components of wellness claimed in this paper are summarized. After that, the expression of the wellness space in the silver town is considered, and the wellness spatial analysis elements are derived through Sun Heng research. After grasping the current status of urban silver town in Seoul, selecting cases, classifying the wellness space according to the six components of wellness summarized above, and evaluating the classified space based on the wellness spatial analysis element, the characteristics of the urban silver town wellness space and the results of the wellness spatial evaluation were derived. As a result, there were many physical wellness spaces indoors according to the characteristics of urban silver towns, and one space became a multidimensional wellness space. Despite the limitation of the site area, an outdoor space was necessarily formed, and it was necessary to consider the formation of a working space. In addition, the current status of urban silver towns in Korea shows the demand for design that reflects the characteristics and times of the space when viewed formatively, but they are aesthetically and constructively stable. In satisfying human needs, it is functionally, psychologically satisfactory, and a safe space is being built. In terms of the spatial environment, it is convenient to use, has a space that can be used in various ways, and most of them have a comfortable environment. The design was carried out by establishing four strategies: formation of a viewing space, utilization of natural elements, formation of an integrated household space, and formation of a continuous protection system for the elderly by reflecting the results derived from the urban silver town construction plan at 656 Jeongneung-dong, where there are problems with severe slopes at the foot of Bukhansan Mountain, population outflow and aging. This study fragmented the direction of development of residential spaces for the elderly in an ultra-aging society through urban silver town research through keywords that have recently emerged or are frequently encountered, such as 'Silvertown Refugee' and 'Wellness'. In the follow-up study, the scope of urban silver town is expanded from downtown Seoul to local city centers, and the results of research on urban silver town wellness spaces in various regions are expected to be needed.

In contemporary society, where the pursuit of physical and mental well-being has become a dominant trend, people are increasingly exploring ways to lead fulfilling lives. Reflecting this trend, the concept of 'wellness' has gained significant emphasis. In response, brands are shifting toward proposing spaces that integrate their brand identity with wellness experiences to meet consumer demands. Consequently, the recognition of brands that position wellness as a core value has grown rapidly. In particular, brand spaces such as flagship stores are evolving to enhance experiential functions, increase consumer dwell time, and create opportunities for consumers to engage with the brand more organically. This study aims to propose a flagship store design that allows consumers to experience the brand identity of Lululemon as a wellness-oriented brand. To achieve this objective, an in-depth analysis of Lululemon’s brand identity was conducted, alongside a theoretical exploration of the concepts of wellness and experiential marketing. Through this process, four Wellness Space Experiential Modules (WSEMs) were identified: Sensory Experience, Behavioral Encouragement, Social Interaction, and Sustainable Design. Based on the identified modules, the study analyzed four cases of global sportswear brands, including Lululemon, that maintain a close association with wellness. The analysis was limited to flagship stores opened within the last five years. This approach helped to substantiate the spatial strategies for Lululemon's flagship store. The findings revealed strategies to expand Lululemon’s strengths in fostering community and providing physical wellness experiences, while addressing the relative lack of sustainable design elements. These insights were used to design Lululemon's flagship store as a brand space centered on wellness experiences. The project selected Itaewon, a vibrant area attracting a diverse group of people, as the target site, considering its proximity to an existing Lululemon store. The initial plan was to create a brand experience space, including a market, restaurant, café, resale space, and fitness studio, aimed at promoting brand values through diverse programs. Subsequently, as the existing Itaewon store gradually transitions and integrates into the new space, the plan envisioned the flagship store ultimately establishing itself as a community hub. By designing the Lululemon flagship store to enable guests to experience various aspects of wellness, the project proposed a novel approach to brand experience spaces.
