      • 화이트헤드의 과정철학과 기독교교육 : "현실적 존재"를 중심으로

        The purpose of this :study should be applied 'actual entities' Christian education which is. metaphysics of Whitehead. The concept of 'actual entities' acting. as the basis of his metaphysics is temporary which is. opposite to the traditional 'substance' denying becoming and change.. This. 'actual entities' is. -a reality composing the world. Although there is- its mutual difference, it shows. a same level in the principle that actuality indicates everything. This fact implies that an individual entities has the character as subject which can not '.disappear everything in the process of its concrescence, existing only in a mutual dependent net, not. in an independent condition like traditional substance denying the becoming and change. Accordingly, the basic concept necessary to understand. 'actual entities' includes 'process' and 'relation' which is concrete and experiential. Especially I applied 'actual entities' to a teacher, a learner, a method and contents that are constituents of Christian education.. First of all I adjusted Whitehead's metaphysics in detail for it. I went over the process of the gateway to concrescence centered. on prehension . relation, process, and ability that're main concepts. Christian education is a process throughout human's life. For humans , being -a Christian means that they're willing to mold. their own values and are willing to have the view of the world which is based on his values in God. Basically, it is their 'will' that they want to fulfill becoming a pupil throughout humans' life. This study maintains that when human beings who are actual entities grasps objects, the. typical way performing a cramming education or having them follow the tradition can't change the humanity or let them become a pupil. And also it argues that it. is hard for a man to form a positive values by teacher's one-sided lecture. Thus it explains the way to emphasize the importance of conversation and interrelation. along with the method to acknowledge the chance of becoming curious about Christianity for learners. And it suggested that. not to cram Christianity doctrine and tradition down a learner's throat but to read the text which is based on learner's circumstances. This treatise maintain that the concept of Whitehead's 'actual entities' can be applicable helpfully for a living Christian education at the .conclusion. As for Christian education by us, Christian education, or something we knew but have just ignored is not a happening but a process throughout humans' life. And so Christian education is what is concentrated on a leaner that. can be explained persuasively by the. concept of 'actual entities'.

        Youth Ministry should be different than before, since society has experienced many changes. So, this thesis tries to find the proper Youth Ministry in the age of the Information Society. The advent of Information Society has made a deep change for human life. Especially, the part of education which sticks to human life has made a detail step about Information, hence the paradigm of education has made a big change than the past industrial society from the teaching purpose to the role of a teacher and a learner Today's juveniles contact with the internet, the new method of information and communication everyday. They show their new problems, desire, a sense of values, talents by a positive or negative way through this. So, this thesis considered the effect of the new social trend, especially of internet. This includes the understanding of Information Society, the paradigm of education, juveniles themselves, the traits of internet and a current state of education on Web-Site. Chapter Ⅱ has explored about the general understanding of Information Society and the theoretical background of information education to understand Information Society and education. Information Society is a terminology started from F. Machlup which was constructed by the concept of the modern age and background of technology and society. The trait of information technology is to use information technology to treat changed desire, behavior and thought of human. And it also effected educational purpose, ways, environment and area with teacher and learner. Chapter Ⅲ treated about juveniles who live in Information Society. They have a different view than the older generation since they live in and effected by digital environment. The traits of juveniles are strong independence, free space concept, dualism about opening their mind curiosity. To pursue their trait, they used internet and for that all of the database information is opened to everybody who use it. And they could make a trait of relationship, anonymity, spontaneity, democracy, image-centered trend and mobility. Internet inspired the mind to study, personality and membership. But on the other hand, it resulted in a disorder of character and the exposure to commercial indiscriminately. Chapter Ⅳ analysed the current situation of juvenile education. For this, this thesis surveyed juvenile education by general education and christianity education. Again, general education was divided by commercial and non-commercial, and christianity was divided by institutional and individual. Currently, there are many sites about juvenile education, but not properly. This is scarcity of responsibility and plan. Also it's because there are no exclusive site for juvenile. And these sites do not develop of internet properly, just by introducing off-line programs or by using it for individual church. So, this thesis recommend following four. Firstly, developing educational soft-ware and contents for juvenile. Secondly, sponsor of the religious body, church and individual. Thirdly, a detailed plan for Educational Information. Fourthly, the exclusive space for juvenile which run by juvenile. Finally, at the time of change of juvenile education, the Christian Education should discriminate good and bad, response sensitively for changing and lead juvenile to the right road which God wants. Those are this thesis suggests.

      • 기독교학교 예배에 대한 교사와 학생 의식 연구

        This study is a qualitative research on teachers and students's attitudes and ideas of the worship service toward a christian school worship service. There were great amount of studies cases about types and worship services of a religious education but there weren't much of studies on attitudes and ideas of the worship service. In this study, One of the christian school had been picked to study on teachers and students's and also some school staff's attitudes and ideas of the worship service. Some of studied subjective questions are as follows. First, do students think that the key of religious education is a worship service? And do student think the school worship service is beneficial and do they agree with continuing worshiping in their school? Second, does worship service can tell the student christian philosophy and values and is the school achieving educational goals to make student live with the christianity? Last, what is the ideal worship service of students and teachers are they expecting a right and good worship service or not? The result of this study can be classified as four category : general idea of worship service, concept difference between observed object, student interaction related to worship, interaction between student and teacher. First, K middle school chapel help students to form christianity and to develop faith. But K middle school chapel does not help students to understand christian sprit and values and to live with it. Second, non christian, new christian saved in middle school, and old christian all of them are attended worship service. This is not beneficial for forming and developing christianity. But it is partially practical to make student understand worship is part of christian life, and there are some fun and pleasure. Third, School paster and students had some suggestion to improve some problems about worshiping with variety.

      • 새신자 양육을 위한 모델 연구 : 상호관계적 모델 중심으로

        The main purpose of writing this thesis is to emphasize that established church members must develop interrelational models to bring up new Christians effectively rather than the established models which have been mostly hierarchical, habitual and separated between a real life and church education. So far, it is true that most Korean churches have been paying their attentions to their quantitative growth. Although many church members would stress missions, they didn't provide new Christians who were newly led into the churches with particular education but only "welcome parties for new Christians". Accordingly, I discussed these church education problems for new Christians and suggested the needs of changing the paradigms of the education. It is very essential for established church members to change their traditional education methods to new ones in order to change the old paradigms. Firstly, I suggested an integrated model which helps new Christians' lives and practice because one of the main reasons which many Korean churches are criticized from non Christians is that many Christians' lives aren't identical to God's words. In this context, I stressed that those separated lives of the Christians must be educated in the course of bringing up new Christians as the first stage of discipleship training. Secondly, I suggested an interrelational model with which teachers and new Christians make close relationships. As Martin Buber said, a relationship is interrelational. Therefore, I discussed that New Christians as learners aren't only receivers of knowledge of church education, but need to have close interrelationships with the teachers of the churches. Thirdly, I suggested a model for a faith community which is performed through small group activites. As Westerhoff Ⅲ said, new Christians not onl.y feel sympathy, but also have their self-esteems in their faith communities through realizing the essence of the communities. In this context, I suggested a cell method in order to increase the effects of bringing up new Christians through various experiences in the faith communities. In addition, I suggested both a method through life stories and a method through plays to increase the relationships in order to bring up new Christians with the interrelational models. For the method through life stories, I suggested a phenomenological approach and an experience-centered approach of andragogy because these Methods are able to make new Christians understand the close relations between the biblical texts and their own lives through their real experiences and life stories. For the method through plays to increase the relationships, I suggested a method through aesthetic application, a method through poetic imagination and a method of helping life changes. The method through aesthetic application is the way to express one's own joy to only God regardless one's position or status. Established Christians must not only approve and accept that new Christians express their own pleasures in many different ways, but also let them express their pleasure freely. The method through poetic imagination can be found in a worship program. I suggested that church members can share their comforts, pleasures and healings altogether whenever they read psalms using for doxology or response readings. And for the method of helping life changes, I suggested that a play itself can be a healing. A play is not only making use of one's spare time, but also doing the role of recreation. Besides, Church teachers and new Christians can't make vertical relationships but horizontal relationships through doing many plays. New Christians who come to church for the first time have many problems. They have not only uneasiness of their lives but also their own internal sufferings which they can't say to others easily. However, new Christians will solve their own problems and cultivate the ablities to change their own lives, furthermore to change their neighbors through the interrelational models and several methods. Consequently, these models and methods for bringing up new Christians can promote both quantitative and qualitative revivals of many Korean churches.

        This thesis is an attempt to examine the role of 'Imagination' in Bible Education. The role of 'Imagination' has not been properly valued for a long time. But these days, it is being recognized as an important element in Christian Education, especially in the area of Bible Education. The reason for this is that 'Imagination' has the capacity to enable one to develop knowledge as well as to apply the knowledge. As an introduction, chapterⅠ presents the possibility of using 'Imagination' to develop a new model of Bible Education based on faith, bringing knowledge and life together rather than just emphasizing bible knowledge or learner's experience. ChapterⅡ focuses on the problem of content-centered or experience-centered Bible which fails to bring about basic life transformation. Chapter Ⅲ presents a comprehensive understanding of the concept of 'Imagination' and also the relationship between 'Imagination' and 'Revelation image' which makes holistic education possible. Through this process, I will try to find the answer in the Scripture to the question : "Is Bible Education using 'Imagination' is appropriate?" Chapter Ⅳ proposes a model of 'Bible Education using Imagination' which brings real transformation in life. In the model, 'Imagination' is used to experience 'The world of Bible' through 'Image Recreation'. Lastly, chapterⅤ contains a summary of this thesis and several proposals based on researches. In conclusion, 'A Study on Imagination as a method of Bible Education ' will be a meaningful attempt to develop a Bible education which brings knowledge and life together rather than just depending on content-centered or experienced-centered learning.

      • 신앙 성장을 돕는 어린이 설교에 관한 연구

        This paper aimed to find some ways for a sermon that can help children with their growth in faith. Before conducting a research, this study pointed out the problems in children's sermon such as study of a sermon based on adults, lack of understanding about children, emphasis on theological studies, etc. As a solution to these problems, this study focused on the approach to children's sermon in the aspect of Christian education and on the growth of faith, which is the purpose of Christian education. This study was carried out in the following structure. In Chapter 2, the existing children's sermons were divided into three types and then analyzed. Three kinds of sermons, associated with each of Bible stories, dogmatic education and guides for a faithful life, were analyzed, and the definition, strength and weakness of each sermon were discussed. In Chapter 3, to solve the proposition, faith, the study viewed the faith of children based on the faith studies conducted by Fowler, Westerhoff, and Thomas Groome and found relationship, experience, and imagination as the common concept of children’s faith. In Chapter 4, based on the three concepts of faith drawn in Chapter 3, new styles of children's sermon such as a sermon focused on relationship, a sermon focused on experience, and a sermon focused on imagination were explored. These three styles of a sermon contain the concept that can help the children with their growth in faith and include the contents and methods of children's sermon. This paper made a huge contribution in that it approached children's sermons in the aspect of Christian education and thereby aimed to promote growth in faith. Also, three types of a sermon introduced as a frame of children's sermon can be an alternative for faithful and educational a sermon and offer an actual basis for children's sermons.

      • 교회청소년을 위한 소그룹프로그램 연구 : 현실요법(reality therapy)이론을 중심으로

        It has been indicated that church was negligent establishing short-term and specific educational objective and course of study that is based in education for teenagers and in proper understanding for teenagers. Atomization work about learner's action change possibility for teenagers is required by countermeasure about these problemsand need active education activity that solve problem that learners are placed and plans. Therefore, the purpose of this study is developing small group program that church teenagers have and educate so that may live and help style of Christian life by one of Christian religion educative methodology. Small group program applied method called Glasser's Reality Therapy specially, even can apply various master-learning methods according to purpose. There are a lot of contradictory constituents rather than positive elements for teenagers who have these development characteristics undergo various society culture through surrounding environment like house, school, church. Rapid increase of divorce rate and conjugal disagreement are becoming main source of teenagers' problem. Also, absence of spiritual home training is very important fact that to make teenagers to discolor to secularism. And excessive school studies put first made students by target of undifferentiated education, and problems connected with school such as results, entering upon studies or course of teenagers became their main agony finally. Despite church has structural advantage that can overcome limit of school environment, is exposing lacking actuality with donot display the special quality. Course of study that development and mind of teenagers, desire, class is proceeded for years equally with is not considered first of all is problem. The most effective educational environment is small group in which church teenagers can understand and study sincerely and deeply the problems and roles they face. Small group becomes the place of faith education in where they can experience the essence and function of faith community. Little saw usefulness of smallgroup studying on effective instrument of Christian religion studying, and relation and proprieties that go side by side between God and human. Small group is various practical use in various ways such as Bible study, prayer meeting, discussion, social activities, missionary work group, missionary work, friendship, purpose of treatment along with Christian religion educational necessity at church. But, today, small groups at church are used extremely definitely like Bible study small group must be developed and utilized according to various purpose and necessity. Therefore, this study for small group program for church teenagers is made using reality therapy. Reality Therapy to church teenagers by teaching studying method one of useful reason that the principle can be applied in various education problems. Ultimate purpose of reality therapy process is to make teenagers have sense of identity, and takes responsibility, and help establishingpurpose of own specific life for long time and short time. Therefore, this is suitable method to teenagers who purpose and direction of life are shaken from various crises today. Especially standard that decides target of action and to plan the aim of action should be the Bible so that establish view of the world that is the Christian religion first of all and to plan specific change of action.

      • 나사렛대학교 교목사역에 대한 인식도 및 호응도에 관한 조사연구

        미션 스쿨인 나사렛대학교는 기독교 교육의 정신에 세속 교육의 학문을 겸비하여 발전하여 왔다. 처음에 1954년 "한국나사렛신학교"로 시작하여 지금의 종합대학교로 발전하기까지 하나님께서 주신 선교적 사명을 감당하여 온 것이다. 나사렛대학교는 교단이나 교회에서 후원하여 선교의 목적으로 세워진 기독교학교가 아닌 1954년 9월 14일에 오웬스(Donald D. Owens)선교사에 의해 세워진 미션 스쿨(Mission School)이다. 초창기 "한국나사렛신학교" 때는 나사렛 교단의 목회자 양성에 중점을 두어 교육을 하였다. 거듭되는 발전 속에서 지금 은 종합대학교의 모습인 "나사렛대학교'가 되어 옛날의 신학 위주인 교육에서 폭넓은 학문과 전문화된 세속 교육까지 겸하여 가르치고 있다. 기독교대학교는 기독교적인 것'과 '학교적인 것'의 초월적, 궁극적 근거와 목적을 찾는데서 시작한다. 스승과 학생의 관계가 성경적인 그리스도와 제자처럼 사랑과 신뢰의 관계가 아니라면, 또한 학교 행정체계와 학교운영의 원리가 세속적인 효율성과 관료성 위주라면 기독교 대학교라고 하기 어려울 것이다. 기독교대학교이라는 특성상 나사렛대학교는 교육 이념이 "진리· 경건· 사랑"이며 교육 목표는 "진리 탐구" "경건 생활" "사랑 실천, 헌신과 봉사 생활, 사회 정의 실천, 인류 복지 구현"이다. 이 중에서 교목실은 "경건 생활"을 감당하고 있고 학교의 건학 이념에 충실히 이행하고 있다. 교목실은 크게 세 가지의 사명을 감당하고 있다. 첫째 기독교 정신에 입각하여 교내 각 종 학생 정규예배 및 경건회에 관련된 사항을 담당하고, 둘째 학생 예배, 교직원 예배, 학생 경건 생활을 주관하고 다양한 프로그램을 통하여 예수 그리스도를 증거하며 학생, 교직원의 영적인 생활을 담당하며, 셋째 나아가 한국 교회와 국가의 일꾼으로서 헌신봉사 및 지도자로서 자질을 함양하도록 하는 것이다. 이 모두를 책임 관리하는 중요한 기능을 가진 교목직은 예언자적, 제사장적, 왕적, 목회자적, (교사적, 상담자적) 기능을 가진다. 나사렛대학교의 역사 속에서 나사렛대학교 교목실은 학교의 실정에 맞게 변천하여 왔다. 교목실기관은 처음부터 체계적이지 않게 존재하여 왔다. 그러다가 1997년부터 생활관과 분리되면서 드디어 행정적으로 자리를 잡게 되었다. 그래서 한 기관인 교목실에 대한 기록은 1997년부터 있으며 그 전의 뿌리는 찾기 힘들지만 선배들의 말에 의하면 채플과 부흥회가 주요 업무로 생활관까지 관리하였다고 한다. 2002년도 나사렛대학교 교목실의 조직은 강수명 교목실장과 이계관 교목이 있고, 그 아래에 1부 대학을 실무로 담당하는 오장환전도사 외에 12명의 조교가 있고 2부 대학의 실무자로 장희국전도사 외에 3명이 있다. 2002년도 나사렛대학교 교목실의 역할은 2002 나사렛대학교 요람에서 크게 9가지로 말한다. ① 교목실장 직인의 간수. ② 교직원 예배 주관과 교직원 신앙지도. ③ 교내의 선교활동과 종교교육에 관한 업무. ④ 학생 신앙상담(지도)과 학생 부흥회에 관한 업무 그리고, 학교 채플 관리. ⑤ 대학 성가대 운영과 신앙써클 육성지도. ⑥ 학생 재학기간 중 봉사교회 배정 및 지도 업무. ⑦ 대학의 각종 종교의식 주관. ⑧ 지역교화와의 관련 업무. ⑨ 기타 위 각 호에 부수되는 사항. 이 중에서 학생들을 대상으로 하는 주요 업무인 목요 예배와 부흥회 그리고, 비젼 아카데미(Vision academy)에 대해 연구를 하였다. 이것을 주제로 하여 나사렛대학교의 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 그리고 여기에 교목실에서 조사한 자료를 보충으로 연구를 하였다. 예배 대상자는 여자와 기독교인이 반 이상인 2, 3, 4학년이 주를 이뤘다. 비젼 아카데미에서 리더자는 27명의 신학대학원생이었고, 학생들은 비 그리스도 1학년생들이었다. 그 연구 결과에서 먼저 목요예배이다. 학생들은 1시간을 기준으로 현재 목요일에 드리고 있는 예배 시간과 요일에 대부분 만족하였다. 채플 순서에서는 찬양 (찬양팀, 성가대 및 특별찬양 등)을 좋아하였고, 대체로 잘 따라 하는 편이었다. 예배 순서에도 만족도가 높았다. 예배의 행사가 많지만 행사에 대한 호응은 별로 좋지 않았다. 그러므로 예배에 대한 프로그램 개발이 시급하다. 그리고 교목실의 친절도나 출석체크에 대한 정확성 등에는 인식이 좋은 편이었으나 관심 없는 학생들도 있었다. 예배에 대해 다시 말하면 학생들의 삶에 필요성이나 도움 받고 있다고 느끼는 학생들은 많지만 예배를 통해 깨달은 것을 삶 가운데 실천하는 학생들은 적었다. 학생들은 시설이나 협소한 장소, 비좁은 계단 등의 환경에 불만이 많았다. 또한 설교강사에도 불만이 많았다. 학생들의 정서나 특성을 잘 활용한 설교에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 그러므로 설교강사 선정에 고려되었어야 한다. 두 번째로는 부흥회이다. 학생들은 부흥회 가간을 5회 내 · 외 정도를 선호 하였으며, 장소에 대한 만족도는 채플과 같은 장소에서 드리는데 부흥회 때는 채플 때보다 인원이 더 많아져 아주 좋지 않게 나왔다. 장소 개선에 대한 대책이 시급하다는 결론이 나왔다. 그리고 부흥회의 전체적 프로그램의 만족도는 학생마다 다양한 응답이 나왔다. 먼저, 부흥회 순서에서 주를 이루는 아주 중요 설교(30쪽 <표.13> 참조)이다. 강좌 같은 설교나 참여가 없는 내용으로 된 부흥회 프로그램은 학생들이 지루해하고 반응이 좋지 않게 다양한 응답이 나온 것이라 본다. 더 자세히 말하면, 부흥회의 강사진들에 대한 만족도 천차만별로 나왔고, 학생들의 삶이나 생활 여러 부분에 도움은 되지만 중요한 부분에서는 그렇게 많이 영향을 주지 못한다고 결과가 나왔다. 학교나 교목실에서 교목사역에 대한 설문조사를 해마다 하지만 달라진 점은 찾기 힘들다며 이젠 설문조사에 대한 감각이나 생각이 무덤덤하게 되어진다는 학생들이 대부분이었다. 부흥회를 통해 학생들은 예수님과 교회 및 기독교에 대한 생각이 긍정적인 편이었으나 잘 모른다는 학생도 27.0%나 되었다. 이런 결과로 교목실에서는 세속화와 정보화된 시대에 영적인 디딤돌이 되기 위해서는 예배에 대한 연구와 전문성과 세분화 된 업무와 투자가 절실히 필요하다. 세 번째로는 비젼 아카데미이다. 학생과 리더자들은 1시간 이내에 하는 것을 선호하며 학생들의 수는 6명 이하를 좋아하며, 학생들의 삶에 도움이 되는 편이었다. 리더자들은 공과의 주제를 기독교의 진리로 삼아 전했지만 학생들은 신앙관보다는 대인관계에 더 많은 도움을 받았고, 비젼이나 적성에 대해 리더자와 상담을 많이 한 것으로 결과가 나왔다. 그리고 리더자에게도 리더쉽 등에 도움을 많이 받았다고 결과가 나왔다. 힘든 점은 학생들과 리더자가 서로 시간이나 요일을 맞추어 만나는 것이 높게 나왔다. 학생들은 예수님에 대한 긍정적인 생각으로 바뀌게 되었고, 그 중에 예수님을 영접한 학생이 8.6%의 결실을 맺게 되었다. 그리고 교재에는 학생들에게 도움이 크게 되지 못하게 나왔다. 공과의 질이나 다양한 정보제공을 주기 위해서라도 잦은 리더자들에 대한 교육 및 모임으로 교목실에서는 학생들과 리더자들을 지도하고 관리하는데 체계적이어야 할 것이다. 또한 교재에 대한 연구가 교목실과 리더자들에게 필요하다. 또한 모든 클레스와 자주 함께 할 수 있는 행사 및 지원을 리더자나 학생들은 원하는 것으로 나왔다. 비젼 아카데미의 결과나 효과는 좋은 편이며 학생들도 호응이나 인식이 좋았다.

      • 주5일제 수업에 대한 교회교육적 대안 : 토요학교 적용 모델제시

        The five day school week was not just introduced as a way to match the 40 hour work week. It was a plan for future-oriented education with the purpose of enhancing the happiness and life quality of the individual. The shorter week meant that more time could be spent fostering human nature by building the bonds between parent and child, and societal experience. This would help a child extend their Self-Regulated Learning ability. The transition would create a generation that emphasized lifelong education, and attach importance to the ability to solve problems, be creative, and build character. The five day school week does not simply mean dropping one of the days in a six day week (as in the case in Korea where Saturdays were dropped); it means a change in curriculum and the structure of classes as the number of school days decreases. In the present, the majority of people understand that family and community have a responsibility with the school system in the creation of classes and curriculum. The purpose of this paper is to explain the attitudes and the position of the church on this matter. First, in the case of a five day school week, a study was done on the possibility and reality of Saturday school classes provided by the church. Second, an analysis of the objectives of Christian Education in a Saturday School will be made. Currently the church has not put forth an alternative plan for Saturday schools with a Christian identity. The church has had a distinct identity and influence, both passive and active, with "Sunday Schools," starting around 2005 with the introduction of the five day school week. Church groups have also provided alternatives to students by organizing trips to nearby amusement parks and nature areas on the request of students as well. However, the objective of this presentation is to promote the idea of a Saturday school run by the church in a practical manner for a specific purpose. Third, as per the purpose of this research, a program with Theoretical Model Building will be presented. These will show how Saturday school Christian education could be administered in the case of a five day regular school week. The majority if not all churches already feel a need for an alternative plan for the five day school week which extends beyond Sunday school. However, this is not always practical and the cost may be greater than a church's available resources. This cost is not only monetary but also includes the provision of materials, and limitations on available manpower. Therefore, This research will present a theoretical model based on factors for running a new Saturday school, and will set up a model of the identity of church education according to the necessities of our society at present.

        This research starts with a question that various symbols are effectively educated within the church. Unfortunately, there has not been proper understanding of the symbols within field of church, nor was it considered to be crucial. Furthermore, it was indiscreetly used without consideration of learners. Consequently, critical issue has been raised for proper usage of symbols according to the learners. Purpose of this research lies with analyzing the real meaning of symbols in educational aspect along with emphasizing symbols of Christianity education with special focus on James W. Fowler’s development stages of faith. In chapter Ⅱ, James W. Fowler’s theory was presented as a first step on foundation to classify the learner as well as to achieve the purpose as stated above. In regards to faith, general concept of faith was searched; then, understanding faith of James W. Fowler was described. Moreover, dynamic and detailed development of faith was presented. Also, the symbol was explained by general concepts then sorted according to understanding on stages of faith. Understanding symbolization was suggested on five steps except for unspecialized, universalized stage of faith of James W Fowler. In Christian Education, it was first suggested that education of symbol could be based on stage of faith. Symbol plays mediation role in helping to meet God. Thus, when properly educated, it can be a very effective education tool to improve maturity for education of faith. Secondly, by educating symbol in developmental aspect, education can be achieved with consideration of learner. In chapter Ⅲ, symbol in Christian education was organized in order of education method. It explains the progress that the Christian symbol education is categorized in five stages with the faith stage with extracting two meanings from each stage. Then it was charted with graph, showing James W Fowler’s faith stage, stage of symbol function and the method of symbol Christian education at a glance. Chapter Ⅳ emphasized five suggestions of Christian education symbols based on principles from chapter Ⅲ that can be practically used in the field. It can surely be applied and utilized with creation of detailed method of education (learner, purpose, content, method, etc.) in the Christianity field of work place. Chapter Ⅴ summarized this research and suggested a project, contribution and limitation. This research also proposed the plan of Christian symbol education to educate a learner practically to become an index for the new method of Christian education.
