Esophageal and gastric varix, portal hypertensive gastropathy, Mallory-Weiss tear and gastric ulcer are common causes of bleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis. However, spontaneous arterial bleeding without a history of trauma is a rare cause of bleeding which can be fatal. We report a case of a 55-year-old woman with alcoholic liver cirrhosis who developed spontaneous bleeding of multiple right lumbar arteries and died in spite of repetitive transfusion and embolization. 토양중 제초제 Bentazon 잔류물의 콩과 무우에 의한 흡수

土壤 中에 存在하는 除草劑 Bentazon 殘留量이 農作物에 의하여 어느 정도 吸收되는지를 究明하기 위하여 ^(14)C-Bentazon을 栽培 直前에 處理한 토양(Fresh Bentazon 토양)과 抽出이 不可能한 土壤吸着 殘留物함 形態의 ^(14)C-Bentazon을 함유한 토양(Bound Bentazon 토양)에 콩과 무우를 심고 28일간 生育시켜 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. ^(14)C-Bentazon을 토양에 처리하고 6개월 동안 前培養(pre-incubation)하는 동안 발생된 총 ^(14)CO₂量은 처리 방사능의 14.79% 이었다. 2. 28일간 作物을 재배하는 동안 토양 중의 ^(14)C-Bentazon이 ^(14)CO₂로 無機化되는 量은 Bound Bentazon 토양보다 Fresh Bentazon토양에서 훨씬 많았으며 콩에서보다 무우에 있어서 훨씬 많았다. 3. 콩과 무우에 의하여 흡수된 ^(14)C-Bentazon 및 그 대사산물의 量은 Fresh Bentazon 토양에서 각각 45.41%와 21.48%이었으며 Bound Bentazon 토양에서는 각각 3.92%와 1.23%이 었다. 吸收된 放射能이 뿌리로부터 地上部로 移行되는 比率은 콩에서보다 무우에 있어서 훨씬 높았다. 4. 콩과 무우에 의하여 吸收된 Fresh Bentazon 對 Bound Bentazon의 비율은 각각 12 : 1과 17 : 1 이었다. 5. 作物의 存在는 ^(14)C-Bentazon의 ^(14)CO₂로의 無機化와 極性代謝産物로의 변화를 增進시킴이 立證되었다. In order to clarify how much of the residues of Bentazon could be taken up by crops, soybean and radish were grown for 28 days in soils containing freshly treated ^(14)C-Bentazon and non-extractable soil-hound residues of ^(14)C-Bentazon. The results obtained are summarized as follows. 1. ^(14)CO₂ evolution from ^(14)C-Bentazon during the 6-month pre-incubation in soil was 14.79% relative to the applied radioactivity. 2. Mineralization of ^(14)C-Bentazon in soil to ^(14)CO₂ during 28 days of crop growing was much higher in the freshly treated soil than in the bound soil, and much higher in radish than in soybean. 3. The amounts of ^(14)C-Bentazon and its metabolites absorbed by soybean and radish were 45.41 and 21.48%, respectively, in freshly treated soil, whereas those were 3.92 and 1.23% in bound soil, respectively. The translocation ratios of radioactivity .from the root to the shoot were much higher in radish than in soybean, remarkably. 4. The uptake ratios of the freshly treated ^(14)C-Bentazon to the bound ^(14)C-Bentazon by soybean and radish were 12 : 1 and 17 : 1, respectively. 5. It was well verified that the presence of crops enhanced the mineralization to ^(14)CO₂ and the transformation to polar metabolites of Bentazon.
흰쥐의 일차배양 간세포에서 Glycyrrhizin 및 Baicalin의 간 보호 활성 평가

The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effects of glycyrrhizin, active glycosides of Glycyrrhizae Radix, and baicalin, bioactive flavonoid isolated from Scutellariae Radix, on hepatocyte injury induced by carbon tetrachloride(CCl4, 10mM), tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBH, 0.5 mM), and D-galactosamine (GalN, 30mM). Primary cultures of rat hepatocyte (18 hr cultured) were treated with CCl4, TBH, or GalN and various concentrations (0.1, 1, 10, and 100 μM) of glycyrrhizin or baicalin. Activity was accessed by determining the release of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and aminotransferses. CCl4 significantly increased the levels of LDH, alaine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and these increases were prevented by baicalin concentrations of 0.1, 1, and 100μM. The increases in ALT and AST levels were reduced by glycyrrhizin concentration of 100 μM. The level of LDH was markedly increased by TBH, and this increase was reduced by both glycyrrhizin and baicalin. ALT and AST levels were increased by TBH, which were prevented by glycyrrhizin and bacalin, respectively. GalN markedly increased the levels of LDH, ALT and AST. These increases was significantly reduced by both glycyrrhizin and baicalin. These results suggest that glycyrrhizin and baicalin possess the hepatoprotective activity.

자궁내막암 환자의 재발여부 확인에 있어 FDG-PET scan 의 유용성에 대한 고찰

Objective : To understand the physiologic effects and secretion pattern of inhibin A and inhibin B during menstrual cycle and menopausal transition, inhibin A and inhibin B levels were measured. And to detect any changes in expression of inhibins in human ovary with age, we examined immunohistochemical staining of α, βA, and βB subunits of inhibin in ovarian tissues. This study was also designed to investigate whether or not inhibin is an early marker for menopausal transition. Methods : Inhibin A and inhibin B levels were measured in 320 samples from normal reproductive women, in 60 from perimenopausal women, and in 20 from menopausal women by ELISA. And we examined the immunohistochemical staining of α, βA, and βB subunits of inhibin in ovarian tissues of 35 normal reproductive, 20 perimenopausal, and 5 menopausal women, respectively. Results : In the normal reproductive women, inhibin A begins to increase in the late proliferative phase (16.53±1.57 pg/ml), reaches the peak in the mid-secretory phase (45.85±2.08 pg/ml), reaches the peak in the ovulatory phase (110.74±9.83 pg/ml), reaches the peak in the ovulatory phase (110.74±9.83 pg/ml), and thereafter declines rapidly. In the perimenopausal women, mean inhibin A serum concentration was 6.68±0.53 pg/ml during proliferative phase and 21.78±3.61 pg/ml during secretory phase, which were significantly lower than that of the same phase in the normal reproductive women (P<0.01). Mean inhibin B serum concentration was 52.16±7.46 pg/ml during proliferative phase and 22.41±6.73 pg/ml during secretory phase, which were significantly lower than that of the same phase in the normal reproductive women (P<0.01, P=0.025). In the menopausal women, both inhibin A and inhibin B were not detected. In the normal reproductive women, we observed strong immunostaining for α subunit in granulosa cells, theca cells, and corpus luteum. Immunostaining for βA subunit was observed in corpus luteum, but not in growing follicles. Immunostaining for βB subunit was observed in primary follicle, granulosa and theca cells of growing follicle, and mature follicle, but less strong than immunostaining for α subunit. No staining for βB subunit was observed in the corpus luteum. In the perimenopausal women, immunostaining for inhibin subunits were observed in the same pattern as that of the normal reproductive women, but weaker. Stronger immunostaining was observed in theca cells than granulosa cells. In the menopausal women, none of the immunostaining of inhibin subunits were observed.

The aim of this study was to investigate the protective activities of daidzin, daidzein, genistein or puerarin, active isoflavonoids of Puerariae Radix, on the hepatocyte injury induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl$_4$, 10 mM), tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBH, 0.5 mM) and D-galactosamine (GalN, 30 mM). Primary cultures of rat hepatocytes (18 hr cultured) were treated with CCl$_4$, TBH or GalN and various concentrations (0.1, 1, 10 and 100 ${\mu}$M) of daidzin, daidzein, genistein or puerarin. CCl$_4$ significantly increased the levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). The increase in LDH level was attenuated by daidzein, genistein and puerarin. Puerarin also inhibited the increase in AST level induced by CCl$_4$. The increases in LDH and ALT levels induced by TBH were significantly attenuated by daidzin and genistein treatments. GalN markedly increased the levels of LDH, ALT and AST These increases were significantly attenuated by daidzein. Daidzin also inhibited the increases in LDH and AST levels induced by GalN. The increases in LDH and ALT levels were attenuated by genistein and puerarin, respectively. These results suggest that daidzin and daidzein possess hepatoprotective activities.

In order to clarify the possible contamination of rice straw used as a crude feed for livestock, Korean native cattle and cow, by pesticides, the samples collected from 21 sites in Korea were analyzed by a multiresidue method for 10 pesticides with GLC to obtain the following results. 1. Detection limits were 0.001ppm in butachlor, 0.002ppm in chlorpyrifos, 0.003ppm in BPMC, pirimiphos-methyl and diazinon, 0.004ppm in fenitrothion, 0.005ppm in phenthoate, 0.009ppm in IBP, 0.015ppm in carbofuran, and 0.03ppm in carbaryl. 2. In recovery tests, 73-101% of the pesticides applied were recovered, the recovery being low in carbofuran and chlorpyrifos. 3. Butachlor, 2-chloroacetanilide herbicide, and BPMC, carbaryl, and carbofuran, carbamate insecticides, were not detected in any sample. 4. In organophosphorus insecticides, the amounts of fenitrothion in sample No. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 20 and 21 were in the range of 0.01-0.05ppm, those of phenthoate detected in sample No. 10 and 12 were 0.4 and 0.17ppm, respectively, and those of IBP in all samples, with the exception of sample No. 7, 12, 16, 17, 20, and 21, were in the range of 0.01-0.20ppm. The residues of chlorpyrifos, diazinon, and pirimiphos-methyl were not detected.
내장형 펌핑 커패시터를 사용한 TFT-LCD 구동 IC용 전하펌프 설계

본 논문에서는 TFT-LCD 구동 IC 모듈의 소형화 측면에서 유리한 DC-DC 변환기 회로인 펌핑 커패시터 내장형 크로스-커플드 전하펌프(Cross-Coupled Charge Pump with Internal Pumping Capacitor) 회로가 새롭게 제안되었다. VGH 및 VGL 전하펌프 각각의 입력단과 전하 펌핑 노드를 연결하는 NMOS 및 PMOS 다이오드를 두어, 초기 동작 시 전하 펌핑 노드를 서로 같은 값으로 프리차지하여 대칭 적으로 전하 펌핑을 하도록 하였다. 그리고 첫 번째 전하 펌프의 구조를 다르게 설계하여 펌핑된 전하가 입력단으로 역류되는 현상을 방지하였다. 또한, 펌핑 클럭 구동 드라이버의 위치를 펌핑 커패시터 바로 앞에 두어 기생 저항으로 인한 펌핑 클럭 라인의 전압강하를 방지하여 구동능력을 향상 시켰다. 마지막으로 내장형 펌핑 커패시터를 Stack-MIM 커패시터를 사용하여 기존의 크로스-커플드 전하펌프 보다 레이아웃 면적을 최소화하였다. 제안된 TFT-LCD 구동 IC 용 전하펌프 회로를 $0.13{\mu}m$ Triple-Well DDI 공정을 사용하여 설계하고, 테스트 칩을 제작하여 검증하였다. A cross-coupled charge pump with internal pumping capacitor, witch is advantages from a point of minimizing TFT-LCD driver IC module, is newly proposed in this paper. By using a NMOS and a PMOS diode connected to boosting node from VIN node, the pumping node is precharged to the same value each pumping node at start pumping operation. Since the lust-stage charge pump is designed differently from the other stage pumps, a back current of pumped charge from charge pumping node to input stage is prevented. As a pumping clock driver is located the font side of pumping capacitor, the driving capacity is improved by reducing a voltage drop of the pumping clock line from parasitic resistor. Finally, a layout area is decreased more compared with conventional cross-coupled charge pump by using a stack-MIM capacitors. A proposed charge pump for TFT-LCD driver IC is designed with $0.13{\mu}m$ triple-well DDI process, fabricated, and tested.
