AbstractKu-sang is famous metaphysical poet in Korea. He lived in North Korea when Korea was liberated from Japan in 1945. But, he escaped from North as he was related on accident of “Ung-hyang”In 1950, Korean War was bursted, he participated in the Group of Writer's Volunteer. After truce, he devoted himself to a news paper in Pusan. His major work was writing poetry and column. His religion is cathoric, but he has not confined only one thought. He interested in Buddism. Taoism and other oriental thoughts. Especialy, he devoted himself to writing metaphysical poems that is not common in Korea.

This thesis aims to illuminate Kim Hyon-Sung's literary world as a Korean modern poet. His father was pastor and he had studied in Sungsil College. Kim was famous christian poet, and he had devoted himself in Sungsil University as a professor of Korean language and literature department. His poems are based on christianity, but most of them seems like non-Christianity. As the result, many critics have explained his poetry as "solitude", but they could not prove about their opinions. His christian poems are 46 and most of them artificial. The reason of his fail to get salvation is proved in this thesis. So far as his "solitude", it ground on his fail to get salvation as a Christian.

The purpose of this thesis is to illuminate literary characteristics on Park Jae-Sam's poetry. Park was born in Japan and returned to home-land after liberation from Japanese control at 4 years old. He had lived in Samchonpo, Kyongsangnamdo, and his family was so poor as his mother sold fishes in market everyday. Park's poems are looked very sorrowful for his homelife and weakness of his nature. He could not resist these fatal obstacles and so he had sung the sorrowful poems certainly to get catharsis. So far as his sorrow in the poems, it connected to the Korean traditional emotion 'Han'.
