The purpose of this study is to analyze the developmental characteristics and trend between multiple intelligences (MI) and career maturity (CM). To achieve the aim of the study, the total number of 1107 subjects from elementary, middle, and high school was asked to take MI and career maturity test and the results were analyzed. The methodology to analyze the results were independent t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The findings were as followings: Firstly, considering the MI profiles of children and adolescents, intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence tend to be high in both parties. Secondly, as the subjects grow older, the weakness in MI profile is inclined to be compensated. Thirdly, the difference between high and low intelligences tends to be decreased while individual difference within each intelligence to be increased. Fourthly, sex-related differences in MI and CM are maintained constantly in every phase as they are getting older. Concerning MI, male students showed their strength in logical-mathematical intelligence whereas female students in musical intelligence. They also acquired higher score in preparation of career, career concern, and information processing than male students in each level of elementary, middle, and high school. Fifthly, CM shows steeper decline in the phase of adolescence than childhood. Lastly, in every stage of the development, MI and CM show positive correlation and MI explains over 35% of CM. All the students showed especially high correlation with intrapersonal intelligence as the factor that influences on their career perception in each level of school.

The purpose of this study is to validate EQ Episode Test available for Korean people on the basis of Mayer & Salovey's theory in which a vulnerable point of anteceded researches only emphasizing Intelligence Quotient as a human ability is recognized and corrected. This study is to understand the concept and theory of Emotional Intelligence in the movement of extension and change of traditional intelligence theory, and to investigate the test validity applied to real situation beyond self-report EQ test. EQ Episode Test, made up of 28 items, is developed based on Emotional Intelligence theory of Mayer and Salovey. Test results showed that it is reliable in the split-half reliability coefficient. In addition, these items are found to be the two factors of self regulation and others regulation. Discussions about the implications and limitations of the study follows. In conclusion, all the results are showing that the newly modified EQ Episode Test can be used as a credible tool for the measurement of korean people' EQ.

This research examined the specificity of reasoning and cultural universality of lying, by analyzing patterns of lie-telling and the justifications offered by Korean people when telling everyday lies. Two hundred and fourteen participants completed essays on their lying; focusing on those lies that were most prominent in their memories. Directions asked them to describe their experience, citing the time, situation, targeted person, outcomes, and their feelings about the outcomes. These essays were then analyzed by means of a coding scheme that contained within it three domains (moral, personal, and socio-conventional) and twelve justification codes. The results indicate that lies most frequently occur within close relationships rather than other forms of relationships. In close relationships, people reported that the primary motivation behind their lying was personal interest or preferences, and this was most common in middle school students. The relationships in which they told lies ranged from family to other social relationships, as their ages increased. There were significant differences in justifications offered for lying among the different age groups. Lies in the personal domain were usually justified as a means of maintaining harmony or trust in relationships, which may relate to an important characteristic of the collective cultural forces at work in Korean society.
