사아디야 알파유미 그리고 10세기 아랍어로 구약을 번역하는데 있어서 그의 역할

이 논문은 이슬람 문헌에서 사아디야 알파유미, 알파유미 시대의 문화적 및 신학적 상황, 알파유미의 사상적 저작들, 알파유미의 번역서, 알파유미의 번역의 방식을 다루었다. 사아디야 알파유미는 유대계 이집트인으로서 성경의 아랍어 번역 역사에서 이정표가 되었다. 그가 당시 중동 환경 속에서 살았기 때문에 그 시대의 주어진 여건을 반영한 글을 썼다. 그래서 사상적 및 문학적 작품에서 그의 다양성을 보여주었고 그가 죽고 난 뒤 오랜 세월이 지났는데도 그의 탁월한 저술들이 주목을 받고 있다. 그는 중동과 아랍 세계에서 아랍 이슬람 문화안에서 여러 창작성과 다양성에서 아랍을 빛나게 해주는 학자로 알려진다. 9세기 이슬람 치하의 스페인에서 기독교인들은 아랍 신학과 아랍 철학을 배우고 있었고 10세기 이집트에서는 콥트인들이 콥트어를 몰라서 교인들이 콥트어를 들어도 이해하지 못하였다. 아랍어가 대다수 사람들의 언어가 된 것이다. 그런데 10세기 이집트에서 유대인 알파유미가 구약을 아랍어로 번역했다. 헬라어 사용자가 70인역을 중요하게 생각하는 것처럼 역사를 거쳐오면서 아랍어 사용자들에게 사아디야 알파유미의 구약 번역본은 매우 소중한 자료가 되었다. 그러나 그의 구약 번역은 단어적 번역(literal translation; 축자적 번역)이 아니었다. 그가 철학적 문체를 사용하고 이성적 방식을 사용했기 때문이다. 그의 번역에서는 구약의 창세기, 모세오경, 이사야서, 잠언, 시편이라고 하지 않고 “꽃들의 책, 교정의 책, 지혜를 구하는 책, 찬양의 책”이라고 했다. 사아디야 알파유미의 구약 번역은 구약에 대한 기독교 아랍인의 연구에서 기본 강의 과목이 되어야 한다. 아랍의 종교적 텍스트에 대한 연구에서 텍스트를 이해하는 것이 종교적 담화와 연관되어 있기 때문이다. 번역은 진공에서 시작되지 않고 오랜 세월 축적된 번역들의 결과물이라고 할 수 있다.

한국 내 거주 중동과 북아프리카 무슬림을 위한 교회개척 제 요인

This paper is based on qualitative research, using interviews and the focus group interview technique. Among the non-probability samplings, snowball sampling and quota sampling have been used. Kathy Charmaz’s grounded theory has been used due to the importance of coding of the qualitative data. Using the NVivo analyzing program, the initial coding, which is the first stage of analysis, and focused coding, which is the second stage of analysis, have been completed. Theoretical coding, the third stage of analysis, has been used to organize the seven factors that are needed to plant churches for the MENA muslims in Korea. Five church planting strategies of the content discovered through the qualitative research are introduced. Opinions and suggestions for follow-on studies are listed. In order to effectively plant churches within the MENA Muslim communities in Korea, it is proposed that the following strategies is considered. First, living an Outside-the-Door Mission Era - we need to recognize that we live in an era where we have opportunity, and mandate, to engage a vastly different community immediately outside our front door. Second, brotherhood as Lubricant - loving these brothers and sisters is the critical lubricant for beginning a healthy relationship with MENA muslim community. Third, Arabic language as adhesive - using their Arabic language is the adhesive for establishing a bridge into their culture and understanding their world view. Fourth, forming a small size Loving Community that exceeds Umma - We must strive to form a small size loving community that exceeds their practice of Umma. Fifth, care for Converts - we must establish culturally appropriate ways of caring for those coming out of the Islamic faith.

Since the end of the cold war, 21th century started with many local disputes and it is expanding globally. Compared to peaceful areas, health indicators are getting worse in troubled regions and the Middle East is one of the most affected area. These areas have a history of successful medical activities by Western doctors since the beginning of 20th century. Some of the medical facilities are still active. The Korean peninsula went through 2 big wars in 20th century and needed foreign aids. However, as the economy flourished in 1970s, Koreans began to serve the nations in needs. Currently, Syrian refugee crisis is the most serious and urgent issue. Korean medical personnels are serving Syrian refugees in various means by cooperating with local communities. Many long term and short term Christian workers are trying to deal with the necessities of the Arabs who became alienated. Unfortunately, the Middle East countries and their Arabic language are yet a big obstacle for professionals to overcome. Especially for Arabic language, classical Arabic is not necessary for health care professionals. Instead, spoken language (Ammiyyah) is enough for communication and more easy to learn. Nowadays, Korea has a high level of medical care service and is highly competitive to international standards. This means Korean doctors and nurses will have more chances to reach the Middle East in the near future. He who is vigilant to His calling will serve our Lord at the place he is planted and bear fruits.

전방개척선교를 위한 구전문화권 이해 -구전문화권 무슬림을 위한 선교전략 측면에서-

Storytelling is an important method of oral communication and has two distinct features. Firstly, it should be noted that approximately 75 percent of the Bible are stories. Secondly, most of our target audience for the gospel truth is the people in oral culture. 75% out of the whole un-reached people group are oral people. They are most likely to feel at ease around messages spoken to them as they come from a background of strong orality. And nowadays, the oral communication becomes more and more important and effective tool even for the literate people. We can use “the storytelling” in five areas of our ministry for the oral people, more than 70% of oral oriented people in the whole world including most of Muslim people, even though it is needless to say that the method is very necessary for the frontier mission. Firstly, it can be used as an effective tool in evangelism. Secondly, it can be used as a good way to assist Bible study classes or discipleship courses. Thirdly, it can be used for teaching kids in Sunday school. Fourthly, it can be used for good theological education. Fifthly, it can be used for preaching. For the frontier mission, we need three strategies. Firstly, we should have “the incarnation mission strategy – identification principle.” Secondly, we need “the receptor oriented principle.” Thirdly, we must use “the oral strategy, storytelling.”
