1. 연구배경 본 2014 학년도 실태조사는 상명대학교 신입생들의 적응을 도모하고, 자아성장과 개발을 통하여 상명인으로서의 자긍심을 고양시키고자 하는 목적으로 실시되었다. 2. 연구내용 본 실태조사에서는 학생들의 일반적 특성, 생활환경, 대학생활, 학업 및 진로, 본교에 대한 태도, 일상생활과 관련된 6가지 항목을 살펴보았다. 3. 연구결과 본 연구의 주요 결과들을 요약하면 다음과 같다. ○ 일반적 특성 ㆍ본 실태조사에는 1,408명의 신입생들이 참여하였으며 그중 불성실하게 응답한 10명의 자료를 제외하고 1.398 명의 자료를 분석함. 남학생 581 명(41. 6%), 여학생 815명(58.3%), 무응답 2명(0.1%) 이 참여함. 신입생 44.8% 가 출신 고등학교 소재지가 서울로 나타났으며, 62.1% 가 졸업한 해에 입학한 학생으로 조사됨. ○ 생활환경 ㆍ신입생들의 통학지역을 살펴보면 경기 지역에서 통학하는 학생 비율이 35.0% 로 가장 높았으며, 통학시간은 1시간-1시간 30분이라고 응답한 학생의 비율이 39.4%로 가장 높았음. 신입생의 53.5% 가 스스로 중류계층이라고 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타남. 대학 재학 중 학비 및 생활비 부담과 관련해서 85.5% 가 부모가 이를 부담한다고 응답함. ㆍ38.6% 의 학생들이 가족 분위기가 화목한 편이라고 응답하였으며 부모와의 심리적 거리와 관련해서는 ‘가깝다’혹은 ‘매우 가깝다’고 지각하고 있는 학생들의 비율이 높은 것으로 나타남. ㆍ부모와의 의견 차이와 관련해서는 39.5% 가 생활습관에서 의견차이를 가장 많이 경험한다고 응답함. ○ 대학생활 신입생의 86.7% 가 오리엔테이션에 참석한 것으로 나타났으며 48.8% 가 만족도에 대해서 ‘그저 그렇다’고 응답함. ‘매우 불만족스럽다’거나 ‘불만족스럽다’고 응답한 이유와 관련해서 동기 및 선배와의 친목시간 부족 34.7%, 프로그램의 문제 29.6% 를 주요하게 언급함. 입학 후 가장 힘들었던 점에 대해서 25.1% 가 친구 사귀기, 24.6% 가 학교에 대한 정보부족, 20.8% 가 수강신청을 선택함. ㆍ현재까지의 대학생활 만족도와 관련해서 5점 리커트 척도로 평정했을 때 3.44 정도의 평균을 보고함. 단과대학별로 살펴보면 사범대 학생들이 예년과 동일하게 가장 높았고, 미래창조산학대학(군사학과), 인문사회과학대, 소프트웨어대, 경영대, 자연과학대, 음악대, 조형예술대 순으로 나타남. ○ 학업 및 진로 ㆍ수업시간 이외에 하루 평균 공부하는 시간에 대해서는 37.5% 가 1시간 미만이라고 언급하였으며, 대학공부를 하면서는 시험공부 방법 (39.7%), 리포트 작성 (26.3%), 발표 및 토론 (20.5%) 등에 대해서 어려움을 가장 많이 느끼는 것으로 나타남. 소속학과 지망 동기에 대해서는 53,7% 가 적성과 흥미에 맞춰서 지원했다고 응답하였으며, 자신의 전공 분야, 강의 내용 또는 전망 등에 대해서 49.3% 가 보통정도로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타남. 전공에 대한 확신 역시 보통이라고 응답한 학생들이 36.5% 로 가장 높은 것으로 나타남. ㆍ부전공, 다전공(연계전공 포함)이나 전과를 할 의향에 대하여 질문한 결과 34.9% 가 ‘있다’고 응답하였으며, 과반수에 가까운 49.8% 가 다전공을 원하는 것으로 나타남. 취업과 관련해서 25.0% 의 학생들의 국가기관(공무원 포함), 18.9% 의 학생들이 대기업체를 원하는 것으로 나타남 취업을 하려는 이유와 관련해서 52.7% 의 학생들의 적성과 흥미에 맞아서라고 응답함. ○ 본교에 대한 태도 ㆍ신입생들에게 본교를 선택하게 된 동기를 질문한 결과 67.1% 가 성적에 맞춰서를 선택했으며, 본교 지망 결정 시기와 관련해서 43.0% 의 신입생들이 원서접수 기간에 결정한 것으로 나타남. ㆍ본교에 대한 정보를 접한 매체로는 46.9% 가 본교 홈페이지라고 응답함. ㆍ본교에 대한 자부심에 대해서는 53.5% 가 보통이라고 응답하였으며, 본교의 낮은 사회적 인지도 59.6% 가 가장 불만스럽다고 응답함. 본교 인지도 상승과 이미지 개선을 위해 필요한 것으로 대학의 질적 수준 강화 (63.6%) 를 우선적으로 바라는 것으로 나타남. 본교에 바라는 점으로는 대외 이미지 개선이 43.9% 로 가장 많았으며. 복지시설 30.7%, 교육환경 25.4%의 순으로 나타남. ㆍ본교 홍보를 위해 필요한 사업으로는 우수인재 양성 49.8% 이라고 언급한 학생들이 가장 많았으며, 본교 홍보를 위한 적절한 매체로는 인터넷 포털광고를 35.4%, 대학홍보브로슈어를 34.7% 로 많이 언급함. ○ 일상생활 ㆍ신입생들이 입학 후에 갖게 되는 걱정거리를 물어본 결과 학교공부 (29.4%), 시간관리(23.9%), 진로 및 취업 (23.8%), 학자금 조달(14.5%) 의 순으로 나타남. ㆍ개인적인 문제의 의논상대로는 친구 (38.5%) 가 가장 많았고 그 다음으로는 어머니(34.8%) 라고 응답한 학생들이 많았음. 학생상담센터에 기대하는 프로그램에 대해 질문한 결과 개인상담 (43.7%) 에 대한 요구가 가장 높았으며, 성폭력 상담센터와 관련해서 성 교육 시 가장 알고 싶은 점으로는 피임, 임신, 낙태관련 교육 (41.3%) 을 가장 많이 선택함.

The purpose of this survey is to analyze the recreation for guidance of Sang Myung women's university stndents, For the subujects of this analysis, 828 freshman in Sang Myung women's university were surveyed, The conclusion are as follows; 1. A daily life in Sang Myung women's university students were showed that they needed 7 hours(32.6%) sleeping time, 3 hours(25.24%) going to school, 1 hour(27.9%) meal time a day, 3 hours(30.31%) studying time, 1 hour(29.95%) daily preparing and 3 hour's(25.36%) leisure time, respectively. 2. The most favarite recreation item was 36.35% as music appreciation, Traveling was showed 48.67%, which they wish. 3. 39.25% students showed that they spent to talking when they had no lesson in school. 4. On Sunday recreation, 33.21% students showed that they spent to appreciate music in home, 51.45% students with their friends out home. 5. 51.33% students showed that they were helped on mental and emotion as recreation, 1.57% as health. 6. 38.77% students showed that they spent to leisure with their family and 48.43% spent with their friends. 7. 42.51% students showed that they traveled during vacation. 8. 29.23% students showed that they want to have sports in school, and next 24.88% music appreciation.

To analyse the extra-curricular activities of women college students, the questionaire were distributed to 288 students who have participated in several clubs of extra-curricula at Sang Myung Women's University in 1984. The result of this study is as followings; 1) 76, 74 percentage of total respondents were become a club member by self-decision in the motivation of entrance 2) The above of a half respondents, 59.03 percentage, have enlisted in the club for the purpose of the improvement of human-relations. 3) Two-thirds of the respondents expressed their opinion that there must be a stronger emphasis on the broaden and strongthen human-relationships. 4) 42.63 percentage of total respondents participated to the club for better mutual friend-ship and to understand better each other. 5) On the extra-curricular activities, 46.03 percentage of the total emphasize on the enlightment derive for the less cultured among their activities. 6) About two-thirds of the total, 65.97 percentage, have performed their activities in University campus and neighbourhood in the spatial dimension, and 35.42 percentage during the summer vacation in the temporal dimension. 7) A quarber of total respondents, 24.65 percentage, answerded that greatest problem they faced to now is the lack of will to participate in the club activities.

If the primary purpose of education can be defined as the perfection of man, there should first of all be established the direction of education and there should also be presented its method. The perfection of man needs the cultivating character and the pursuing knowledge, but the college education of today has a tendency to put more emphasis on the latter, and neglects the formation of the right values. The data are based on the investigation and analysis of the 319 Sang Myung Women's college students' viewpoints of college life, religion, philosophy of life, and others. This paper aims to be of some help to the college education.
