Since isokinetic exercise equipment can give an evaluation of muscle strength with great accuracy and objectivity, it is more widely using as the one of the important methods in rehabilitation. The aim of this study is to determine the normative strength values for shoulder flexors and extensors in dominant side as the change of elbow angle. This test is carried out for the strength of shoulder flexors and extensors on the condition that the subjects are 30 healthy persons, 15 male and 15 female, at the speed of 60˚sec and 180˚sec and the elbow angle were flexed at 90˚and 45˚were extended at 0˚ The results were as follows : 1. All the values tested in male were greater than those of female. 2. The peak torque of shoulder flexors and extensors at the speed of 60˚sec was greater than that at 180˚sec, and then the mean peak torque showed a significant increment in order of 0˚45˚90˚elbow angle. 3. The peak torque to body weight ratio at the speed or 60˚sec was higher than that at 180˚sec, and then the mean peak torque to body weight ratio showed significant increment in order of 0˚ 45˚ 90˚elbow angle. 4. The average power at the speed of 180˚sec was greater than that at 60˚sec, and then the average power showed significant increment in order of 0˚ 45˚ 90˚elbow angle. 5. The ratio between the peak torque of shoulder flexors to extensors at the speed of 60˚sec was 87.2% at 90˚ 84.4% at 45˚ and 83.9% at 0˚of elbow angle. 6. The peak torque of shoulder flexors and extensors at 0˚of elbow angle was significant higher than that at 45˚and 90˚ of elbow angle, therefore we concluded that the manual muscle test of shoulder flexors and extensors had better be performed at 0˚of elbow angle.
The negligence of nutritive control among the girls candidates for the entrance examination to high schools and colleges leads to various diseases and intellectual retardation, together with impediments in the physical growth and malnutrition, therefore, of late there is a growing tendency not coming up to the achievement tests of boys' candidates, especially, it shows a remarkable differentia in natural science. According to the investigation reports of a few scholars related this field, the better nutrition the pupils of primary schools take, not only the higher the substantial index in physical condition is, but also their intellectual competence are excellent. The objective of this research consists in investigating the actual condition of taking nutrition for the third year girls' students of middle and high schools in Seoul providing for the entrance examination to high schools and/or colleges, correcting their nutritive control, what is more, enhancing their achievement of entrance examination as well as their further health, The results which I made a survey of the nutritive control of 'S' girls' on 200 girls of third year class and 'S' girls' high school on 200 girls of third year class, in Seoul are as follows: 1. The kcal which the girls of the third year class in the girls' middle school and the girls' high school take is under the standard value. 2. The protein which the girls of the foregoing section I take is lower than that of standard value by 30%∼40%. 3. The mineral and vitamin which they take fall sheer down the standard value. 4. Those who were ill-fed were not good at their marks in the entrance test. 5. As their physcial health is morbid, they are apt to feel tired soon. 6. I found the results of their entrance examinations not good because of their negligences of the nutritive control.
Environmental pollution is one of the most serious problems the present time in Korea. Therefore, continuous efforts should be made to improve environmental status through a comprehensive counter-measure by Environmental Preservation Laws newly enacted. The objective of this survey was to understand the behavioral pattern for the status of environmental pollution control of various industries in Korea. Questionnaire method was used by the post delivery. Of 3,080 factories randomly sampled, the number of plants replied was 1,146. The duration of this survey was from June, 1978 to August. The result of the study obtained are as followings: 1. The majority of the industries discharges various pollutants as showing 90.1%. 2. The ranking of the public nuisance represents water pollution (31.8%), noise & vibration(31.4%), air pollution (25.6.%) and odors. (11. 2%). 3. The rate of the plants adapting a licenced environmental technician shows 31.8%. 4. The ranking of the anti-pollution equipment indicated water(78.1%), air(68.0%), odors (38.8%) and noise & vibration(36.5%). The installed rate of the equipment to the total object of this survey is 58.0%. 5. The installed rate of the equipment by regional group was high in Kang-Won(79.2%) and Chung-Nam district(72.0%) in Pusan City(45.1%) and Chung-Puk district(42.9%) were low. The other hand by industrial classification, paper & pulps (71.4%) and primary metal manufacture(66.5%) were high, electricity & electronic industry(45.2%) and wooden products(38.2%) were low. 6. The installed rate of the equipment to large enterprise(64.8%) was slightly higher than that of small & medium enterprises(50.5%). 7. The ranking rate of 2% investment for the anti-pollution equipment to their industrial facilities represented air(80.3%), water(48.9%) and others(83.3%). Almost half of the object(51.2%) was invested % range. 8. The grade of operation cost for anti-pollution equipment showed moderate (44.2%), expensive(31.4%), cheap(17.3%) and very expensive(7.1%) in the order. 9. The bottle-neck to its operation was pointed out as operation cost(31.2%), poor condition of the equipment(28.6%), bad handling(11.8%) and others(28.4%). 10. The main reason of non-establishment of the equipment represented other (45.9%), installation cost(25.9%), bad condition of location(22.7%) and unreliable trader(5.5%). 11. The expected period to set up the anti-pollution equipment represented one year(24.7%), two years(32.3%) and others (43.1%). 12. Half of the total industries estimated 8 years later about the expected term to be solve the pollution problems. 13. The majority of the industries(80.0%) agreed to establish a industrial waste water treatment facilities by regional group.
In X-ray diagnosis, the scattered rays exert an evil influence upon X-ray film quality control and X-ray film finding. Therefore, many users of X-ray are not sparing of these labor to get rid of the scattered ray originated from the objects. These scattered rays were primarily influenced by the thickness of objects and the applied tube voltage. Authors made a study on the scattered ray dose to be influenced by the tube voltage and the object, and we obtained the results as follows; 1. Every objects play an important role as the scatterer in thin objects, but the other hand they function as the absorber in thick objects under a fixed tube voltage. 2. Every objects have the maximum build up points of the scattered ray under a fixed tube voltage. 3. The scattered X-ray were more influenced by the tube voltage than the thickness of object.

This study was attempted to identify trends and determinants of the profitability of Korean Provincial Hospitals different. Data used in this study were chosen from provincial hospitals that passed the standardization audit undertaken by the Korean Hospital Association from 1998 to 2001 for the purpose of accrediting training hospitals. There were collected from 19 provincial hospitals with complete general data of present conditions as well as financial statements(balance sheets, income statements). The dependent variables in this study were used net profit to total assets and operating profit to gross revenue as a proxy indicator for profitability. The independent variables were classified by general factors(location, teaching status, number of beds, period of establishment), operating and financial factors(current ratio, fixed ratio, liabilities to total assets, total asset turnover, average length of stay, bed occupancy rate, admission ratio of outpatients, patients per specialist, personnel costs per adjusted inpatient, material costs per adjusted inpatient, administrative costs per adjusted inpatient), in addition time leg effect(fiscal years). As a result of hierarchical multiple regression analyzation of net profit to total assets and operating profit to gross revenue, with general factors, operating and financial factors, adjusted R² of operating and financial factors is very powerful. The factors had significant positive effect on net profit to total assets were period of establishment, current ratio, admission ratio of outpatients. The factors had significant negative effect on net profit to total assets were average length of stay, personnel costs per adjusted inpatient, fiscal years. The factors had significant positive effect on operating profit to gross revenue were teaching status, fixed ratio, total asset turnover. The factors had significant negative effect on operating profit to gross revenue were location, liabilities to total assets, personnel costs per adjusted inpatient.
