This study is to propose some promotional strategies based on marketing research of the visitors' profiles in Hwaseong. Although Hwaseoung is designated as one of the UNESCO's cultural heritages, more than 70 percent of the visitors visit there for sightseeing, promenade, and family outing. Therefore, for a promotional strategy for Hwaseoung, marketers should recognize the destination not only as a cultural heritage but also as a neighboring park district for Suwon City.

Hwaryeong-Jeon was a hall for royal portraits and sacrificial rituals of the 22nd king Jeongjo(1776-1800) of Joseon Dynasty, whose endeavor have led into the construction of new Hwaseong city and Hwaseong fortress, which is designated as one of the World Heritages of Unesco today. Since the construction of Hwaryeong-Jeon in 1801, kings of many generations of Joseon Dynasty had often come and given sacrificial rites personally. It was very unusual for the hall that carried royal portraits in a local city, but it proves that the royal family regarded it very highly. Hwaryeong-Jeon is a distinctive building and emphasizes its particular function as a house for the royal portraits. The shape of its construction follows the classic 18th century Korean wooden architectural style at its full glory. Also we have confirmed that the present building upholds the original structure when it first established. As a tourism resource, It could be said that Hwaryeong-Jeon had three significances of following; first, the portraits demonstrate the images of king Jeongjo to the common people directly. Secondly, it illustrates the superiority of wooden architecture of Chosun Dynasty. Thirdly, it enhances the effects of tourism of Hwaseong Through this research, we have found that Hwaryeong-Jeon is a valuable example of the wooden architecture of Joseon Dynasty and it is treasured as a building that has immense potentiality as an impressive and exciting historic tourist attraction for the visitors of Hwaseong.
