    • Some statistical problems in bioinformatics

      Bioinformatics is an important and fast-developing new field; it is associated typically with massive and unstructured data containing a massive, unprecedented volume of information. To make it really become useful for biologists, the data has to be processed through various computational techniques. Statistics, which provide mathematical techniques to collect, analyze and represent the data, is a perfect platform in which to develop computational tools for bioinformatics. The main theme of this thesis is applying Statistical methods to Bioinformatics problems and it consists of three papers, (1) Zhong X, Goutsias J. Bayesian Analysis of SILAC Dynamics for Closed Biochemical Reaction Systems. (2) Zhong X, Parmigiani G. Model-based outliers identification in gene expression. (3) Zhong X, Marchionni L, Cope L, Iversen ES, Garrett-Mayer E, Gabrielson E, and Parmigiani G. Optimized cross-study analysis of microarray-based predictors. The first paper of this thesis presents a Bayesian approach for the kinetic parameter estimation starting from Stable-Isotope Labeling by Amino Acids in Cell Culture (SILAC) experimental data on closed biochemical reactions systems. Here we use a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations that track the effects of the simultaneously occurring reactions to represent the biological system, and we model the perturbation of the systems as well to mimic the experimental protocol to produce more informative experimental data. To learn the kinetic parameters involved in the model, the simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) algorithm and the Metropolis-Hastings MCMC algorithm are applied to obtain posterior mean estimates. A numerical example is given to illustrate how the method can be used in practice, and we randomly generate synthetic data over a range of experimental conditions to evaluate the performance of the method. The second paper studies statistical methods for detecting cancer gene outliers. We compared POE with many other recently proposed outlier identification methods on synthetic data sets and a public skin cancer data set. The third paper focuses on cross-study analysis of microarray data from different platforms. We generalize the integrative correlation approach to provide a metric for evaluating the overall efficacy of preprocessing and cross-referencing, and explore optimal combinations of filtering and cross-referencing strategies.

      Body image and body care behavior of female college students in China -based on the social influence of celebrities- by ZHONG QIQI Master of Sociology Graduate School of Kyung Hee University In the social media environment, female college students increasingly value their external appearance, leading to changes in their body image. At the same time, influential and charismatic celebrities in society can influence female college students' body image and even their management behaviors to some extent through social interactions on the internet. This study explores the impact of celebrity effects on the body image and management of contemporary female college students. This qualitative study, conducted through in-depth interviews with 20 female college students from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, investigates their body image and management. On the Relationship Between Celebrity Effects on Female College Students' Body Image and Management: While celebrity effects do not directly impact female college students' body image, some of their behaviors influence their perceptions of 'beauty' making them more one-sided. The celebrity effect promotes physical management among female college students. And female college students can view celebrities' bodily management behaviors rationally and dialectically. Overall, celebrity influence doesn’t directly affect college students' perception of beauty. This study aims to promote proper treatment of celebrities by female college students and their impact on body image and management, fostering positive body image management so that the younger generation can grow more healthily in a social media environment.     • Investigation of Spray CVD Process of InSnOx and SbSnOx thin films

      Because of spray pyrolysis method with its simple equipment, low cost and fast sample preparation that it become a useful and potential application to make transparent oxide semiconductor thin films. In addition, spray pyrolysis method used in industrial production of coated glass has a broad application fields. Through the study of a thorough literature review and on the basis of preliminary studies, I proposed to use inorganic metal salt SnCl2·2H2O and SbCl3, InCl3·xH2O and SnCl4·5H2O as raw materials to obtain SbSnOx films and InSnOx films with excellent optical and electrical properties by spray pyrolysis. And in-depth explored the formation mechanism of thin films made by spray pyrolysis.

    • 중국 동북지역 국제여객 터미널의 운영 및 서비스 개선방안에 관한 연구

      This Study looked at what steps were necessary in seeking strategies for International Passenger Terminal of the North-eastern Area In China, their methodologies as well as what methodologies are available to counter current conditions in which ship transport demands have plunged with the expansion of other transport infrastructures such as high speed rail. Study of documents in both Korea and other area of China were done to research direction of international Passenger Terminal policies, countermeasures to changes in the service market conditions and environments , growth potential of Chinese Shipping Market, directions for role-sharing of International Passenger Terminal of the North-eastern Area In China, and possibilities for future expansions. In addition, as for management and operation of the terminal, it is very difficult to carry out systematic management and operation because of the separation of the ownership and management body. Lack of manpower and budget shortfall have long been pointed as its chronic problem, which leads to disappointing service. Complacent management and inflexible operation prevent terminal from dealing with changing market needs. The problems above mentioned, in the end, would lower efficient operation of international passenger terminal and the development of the nations cruise tour market. Therefore progress in international passenger terminal, maritime transport gateway, should be made so that China develops into the stronghold of maritime transport and tourism. The final results is necessary to build a function-oriented terminal that has scale. Terminal that is under construction or planned to be built must be differentiated from the present ones. The terminal waiting room should be functional according to a local island development project and the number classified by area, route, season and time zone of passengers. and Terminal is usually located by the sea so it is a good place where people spend their spare time and finally the transportation by land, there are several alternative transportation means such as bus, vehicle, train, airplane, but only ship and airplane are available at the sea. It is important that the punctuality of passenger ship to minimize inconvenience by considering the features of each passenger ship, a route and general weather conditions.

    • Does healing after rotator cuff repair improve muscle atrophy or fatty infiltration?

      Background: It is not yet clear whether muscle atrophy and fat degeneration have improved after successful arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Therefore, in this study, the quantitative MRI measurement was performed to evaluate the changes of muscle atrophy and fat degeneration before and after surgery more accurately and to analyze the correlation between changes in muscle atrophy and fat degeneration and clinical outcome. Materials and Methods: From March 2013 to March 2017, 40 patients who had no retear up to 1 year after rotator cuff repair were taken before surgery, 3 days after surgery, and 1 year after surgery. Supraspinatus muscle atrophy and fat infiltration were measured quantitatively in Conventional Y view and Supraspinatus origin view. The measurement items were muscle area , occation ratio, degree of fat degeneration (%) and area of fat degeneration (㎣). Postoperative clinical results were measured by ASES score and Constant score at 1 year. Correlation between values and scores was analyzed. Results: Inter-measurement reliability was high (ICC = 0.933, Cronbach-α = 0.963) .There was no significant change in muscle atrophy in Conventional Y-view at 1 year after surgery (Occupation ratio:P = 0.2770; Muscle area(㎣) P = 0.3049) and muscle atrophy in Supraspinatus origin view(Muscle area(㎣) P = 0.5953). Fatty Infiltration (%) and fat area (㎣) measured with conventional method on Y-view and showed significant difference (P = 0.0001). Fatty Infiltration (%) and fat area (㎣) measured with modify method on Y-view and SOV-view showed no significant difference (all P >0.05). Postoperative constant score and ASES showed significant improvement compared to preoperative (P = 0.0001), but there was no correlation between fat infiltration and muscle atrophy. (P = 0.653) Conclusion: Clinical outcome (ASES, Constant score) was significantly improved after rotator cuff repair surgery. Clinical outcome (ASES, Constant score) does not have correlation with FI & MA. Muscle Atrophy does not have change 1-year after surgery. Fatty Infiltration was improved in Y-view measured by conventional method.

    • 안톤 베베른의 초기 예술가곡 분석 연구 : 리하르트 데멜 시에 곡을 붙인 가곡을 중심으로

      안톤 베베른(Anton Webern, 1883-1945)은 20세기 근대음악의 큰 특징인 무조음악과 12음 음렬에 의한 작곡기법을 사용하여 슈톡하우젠(Karlheinz Stockhausen, 1928-2007)등 현대 음악가들에게 많은 영향을 끼친 작곡가이다. 그가 사용한 작곡기법에 따라 후기낭만주의 양식이 적용된 제1기(1899-1908), 무조음악 시기인 제 2기(1908-1924), 12음기법 시기인 제3기(1924-1945)로 나뉜다, 그 중 초기 작곡 시기(1899-1908)에 작곡된 30여 작품의 예술가곡들은 명확한 조성음악의 화성 구조가 나타나는 작품부터 근대화성기법을 사용하여 조성을 벗어나는 작품과 조성으로부터 완전히 벗어나는 무조음악(Atonality Music) 작곡기법이 나타나는 작품 등 다양한 실험적, 진화적 과정을 보여준다. 본 논문은 베베른의 초기 예술가곡 중에서 리하르트 데멜(Richard Dehmel, 1863-1920)의 시를 텍스트로 사용한 8개의 가곡을 선정하여 연구하였다. 본 논문에서 연구한 8곡의 초기 예술가곡 중 ‘Tief von fern’, ‘Nachtgebet der Braut’, ‘Aufblick’은 조성음악 시기에 작곡하였으며 때때로 근대적 화성기법을 선보이고, ‘Ideale Landschaft’과 ‘Nächtliche Scheu’는 조표와 조성이 나타나지만 4도 구성 화음 등의 근대적 화성기법이 더욱 발전된 모습으로 나타난다. ‘Am Ufer’, ‘Himmelfahrt’, ‘Helle Nacht’은 무조성 시기에 작곡된 작품으로 조성과 관련 없는 화성구조의 진행이나, 음집합 등의 사용으로 인해 무조성의 경향이 나타나는 작품이다. 본 논문은 베베른의 생애와 전반적인 음악적 특징 및 시인 데멜의 생애와 시의 특징에 대해 알아본다. 시를 분석하고, 음악에 나타난 형식, 조성, 화성, 멜로디, 반주부 등과 더불어 음악에 나타난 시어의 표현 등에 대해 알아본다. 베베른의 초기 예술가곡 연구를 통해 그의 음악에 나타난 조성음악에서 무조음악에 이르는 과정에 대한 이해를 돕고자 하며, 향후 이 베베른의 초기 예술가곡의 연구나 연주에 도움이 되기를 바란다.

    • 드라마 <응답하라 1988>의 노스탤지어 재현 연구

      본 연구는 1980년대 후반 서울 쌍문동을 배경으로 한 TV 드라마 <응답하라 1988>이 노스탤지어 감성을 드라마적으로 재현하는 방식을 분석하였다. <응답하라 1988>에 나타난 노스탤지어 감성의 드라마적 재현 방식을 설명하기 위해서 특히 해당 드라마가 어떠한 서사 및 영상 표현 방식을 통해 감정적 회상과 정서적 몰입을 유도했는지 분석하였다. 특히 노스탤지어 감성이 단순한 과거 회상의 정서가 아니라 시청자와의 감정적 유대를 형성하고 세대 간 소통을 통해 공동체적 정체성 회복을 가능하게 하도록 대중들에게 제공하는 정서적 위안과 문화적 공감의 메커니즘을 규명하려고 시도하였다. 이를 위해 <응답하라 1988>에 나타난 노스탤지어의 심리적 의미와 문화적 함의를 고찰하는 한편, 드라마의 영상적 재현 형식과 서사적 재현 양상을 유기적으로 통합하는 접근을 시도하였다. <응답하라 1988>의 노스탤지어 재현의 연구결과를 일반화하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창작자의 개인적 경험과 시대적 변화가 적절하게 반영되면, 그것이 노스탤지어 시공간을 구성하면서 심리적이고 문화적인 층위에서 드라마의 소재가 되는 세대와 드라마를 시청하는 세대 사이에서 상호 정서적 공감을 유도할 수 있다. 둘째, 노스탤지어의 영상적 재현을 위해서는 적절한 영상적 공간 구성, 노스탤지어 감성을 자극하고 과거를 환기하는 상징적 오브제 구축, 일상적 장면을 통한 과거의 재현 등을 통해 노스탤지어를 형성하는 디제시스를 효율적으로 구축하여야 한다. 셋째, 노스탤지어의 서사적 재현 양상의 측면에서 보면, 사회구조가 바뀌는 역사적 변화를 다루는 거대담론보다는 소시민들의 일상생활과 직접 연결된 미시서사 구조가 노스탤지어를 재현하는 데 적합하며, 적절한 캐릭터 형상화 방식과 더불어 매개 사건을 통한 집단 기억 상기와 시대적 분위기 구현이 현저할 때 노스탤지어가 충분히 재현될 수 있다. <응답하라 1988>은 인물 중심의 정서 축적과 반복, 관계의 상징성, 공동체 기억의 재현을 통해 노스탤지어 감성의 공유를 통해서 단순한 복고 콘텐츠가 아니라 본 작품의 시대적 배경이 되는 1980년대를 넘어서서 작품의 시청이 이루어지는 2010년대 중반에 이르는 상이한 세대간 감정적 유대와 집단 정체성 회복을 가능케 하는 정서적 매개체로 기능하였다. 본 연구에서는 TV 드라마의 내러티브 구조와 영상 기호체계를 유기적으로 분석함으로써 노스탤지어가 어떠한 감정적․문화적 층위에서 재현되고 구성되는지를 다층적으로 고찰하였는데, 이는 기존 연구가 놓치고 있던 서사적 매커니즘과 영상적 표현 간의 상호작용을 탐색함으로써, 앞으로 서사적 측면과 영상적 측며에서 노스탤지어 감성이 작동하는 메커니즘을 총체적으로 이해하는 방식을 탐색하는 데 일정하게 기여할 것으로 기대된다. This study analyzes how the TV series Reply 1988, set in Ssangmun-dong, Seoul during the late 1980s, represents the sentiment of nostalgia through narrative and visual strategies typical of the drama genre. Focusing on the ways in which the series evokes emotional recollection and encourages viewer immersion, the research examines how specific storytelling techniques and mise-en-scène contribute to a shared affective experience. The study further argues that nostalgia in Reply 1988 functions not only as a personal memory but also as a cultural mechanism that fosters emotional connection, facilitates intergenerational communication, and supports the reconstruction of a collective sense of identity. To this end, the study examines the psychological meaning and cultural implications of nostalgia in Reply 1988, while applying an integrated analytical approach to the drama’s visual and narrative signs. First, when the creators’ personal experiences and the social transitions of the era are appropriately reflected, they contribute to constructing a nostalgic time-space that elicits emotional resonance between the generation depicted in the drama and the generation watching it, on both psychological and cultural levels. Second, the visual representation of nostalgia is effectively constructed through spatial composition, symbolic objects that evoke the past, and the depiction of everyday life, all of which serve to shape a diegesis that is emotionally charged with nostalgic sentiment. Third, in terms of narrative representation, nostalgia is more effectively conveyed through micro-narrative structures that focus on the everyday lives of ordinary citizens rather than grand historical discourses. When combined with appropriate character portrayal and mediating events that recall collective memories and embody the mood of the era, nostalgia is fully realized. Reply 1988 functions not merely as a retro-themed drama, but as an emotional medium that that facilitates intergenerational affective bonding and the restoration of collective identity. Through the accumulation and repetition of character-centered emotions, the symbolic representation of relationships, and the depiction of shared communal memories, the series enables the affective transmission of nostalgia across generational boundaries, linking the 1980s setting with the viewers of the mid-2010s. This study offers a multi-layered analysis of how nostalgia is represented and constructed across emotional and cultural dimensions by examining the interplay between narrative structures and visual semiotic systems in TV series. By exploring the interaction between narrative mechanisms and visual expression, which has often been overlooked in previous research, this study aims to contribute to a more integrated understanding of how nostalgic affect operates through both narrative and visual modalities.

    • 보호회로를 가지는 LDO 레귤레이터 설계

      Recent LDO(low-dropout) regulator requires over-current protection and thermal protection circuits to satisfy the increase of integration and power density in regulator. Proposed LDO in this work consists of bandgap reference voltage circuit, and error amplifier in addition to the mentioned protection circuits. The over current protection circuit is found to eliminate the channel length modulation effects in transistors when load and line regulations occur. In order to supress thermal oscillation in LDO, the thermal protection circuit applies comparator which has a hysteresis characteristics. The circuit was designed by 0.18 ㎛ CMOS technology. The LDO output voltage is obtained to be 1.3 V with an input voltage of 1.8 V and the maximum output current of 10mA.

    • Electrochemical Property and Antibacterial Effect of Graphene Oxide Modified Zinc Oxide Particles

      This work introduces simple methods with low-cost and low time-consuming for synthesis of ZnO particles and preparation of ZnO/graphene oxide hybrids. Graphene oxide was prepared by modified Hummer method. The surface of ZnO particles were covered by amino group, due to 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTS) modified. Therefore, ZnO-APTS particles with amino groups can bond with hydroxyl and carboxyl easily. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), UV-visible spectrometer, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and bio-atomic force microscope (Bio-AFM) revealed ZnO particles with novel shape were uniformly covered on the surface of graphene oxide sheets, and hybrids were stable and homogeneous in alcohol. Unique and interesting feature were exhibited in the ZnO/graphene oxide hybrids, which was not see in the individual structures. The electrochemical property of ZnO/graphene oxide hybrids modified Au-PCB electrode was demonstrated with apparent enhancement redox peak by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The highly efficient electrochemistry performance is helpful to manufacture a sensitive sensor and ideal material for application in super-capacitors. In addition, MIC method and flow cytometry were applied for verification of remarkable antibacterial properties of ZnO/graphene oxide hybrids comparison to pure ZnO particles, it meaningful for developing biomedicine and antibacterial agents. Hence, applied ZnO/graphene oxide hybrids in more fields and explore its new function will be challenge for researchers, meanwhile, it has huge value for society.
