      • On Katherine Mansfield's Feminist Consciousness

Zhao Wenlan 청주대학교 국제협력연구원 2006 國際文化硏究 Vol.24 No.-

Katherine Mansfield contributed her short life to the short story creation and created many female images in her works. Although she is not a radical feminist theorist, her feminist consciousness makes her always concerned with women's fate and their pursuit. Combining her own life experience, she described women's sufferings in their life struggles, and portrayed women's loneliness, disillusionment and rebellion in the patriarchal society. Her stories make us feel Mansfield's concern with women problems and her exploration to women's emancipation, and also reveal her limitations in feminism.

The Influence of Content Marketing on E-commerce Platforms: Evidence from China

        Zhao,Yuzhu,Kim,Daeki,Gwon,Hyejeong 한국상품학회 2020 商品學硏究 Vol.38 No.5

The e-commerce industry has advanced into the “Red Ocean” earlier than anticipated. If e-commerce platforms continue to expand with the traditional business model in which product operation is at the center, it may be challenging for platforms to enhance their competitiveness and maintain their customers. Hence, many platforms are attempting to innovate their business models. The integration of content marketing with e-commerce activities has emerged as a popular tool to attract customers by creating compelling content and offering to sell appropriate services or products online. This study combines key points of traditional e-commerce with market changes. The influence of traditional factors (logistics service quality and product diversity) and content marketing factors (content quality and social presence) on E-commerce platforms is examined. We select customer experience as the mediator between traditional and content marketing factors and customers’ repurchase intention. A total of 307 valid questionnaires were collected from Chinese users. By using AMOS 24.0, data analysis is carried out, the importance of content marketing in the online market is identified and recommendations are put forward for the development of such platforms.

During the past twenty years, China has developed rapidly in economy. Meanwhile China s economic development has brought great many problems. Sustainable development is to achieve coordination in the ecological, economic and social aspects. Among them, the environment and resource issues are the most critical issues which affecting sustainable development in China. With China s rapid economic development, China s ecological environment is facing the most serious threat in water pollution, air pollution, solid waste pollution and the destruction of forests and biodiversity, resulting in a significant loss of the national economy. This research aims to examine whether the tragedy of the commons has hindered the sustainable development of China s economy or not. On the other hand, we try to analyze a solution to improve this situation. In the case of a clear definition of property rights, the air will have a market price. The market price will coordinate pollutant emissions. The tragedy of commons has hindered the sustainable development. The model of China’s Economic development should be changed.

Heat Transfer, Laser Remelting/Premelting Behavior and Metallurgical Bonding During Selective Laser Melting of Metal Powder

        Minghuang Zhao,Chenghong Duan,Xiangpeng Luo 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.9

In this study, a three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA) model is established using user-defined subroutines based oncommercial software ABAQUS to investigate the heat transfer and temperature field distribution during selective laser melting(SLM) additive manufacturing of H13 hot working tool steel powder. The influence of the applied laser volumetric energydensity (VED) on the laser remelting and premelting behaviors during SLM process are quantitatively investigated. And theSLM experiments were carried out to analyze the metallurgical bonding quality. The relationships are explored among theVED, laser remelting/premelting and metallurgical bonding behavior, thereby revealing the formation and regulation mechanismsof metallurgical bonding. The results show that the laser remelting and premelting contribute to improving the lap ratioof molten tracks and promoting the effective metallurgical bonding. The peak temperature of the remolten pool, remeltingand premelting dimensions, remelting and premelting indexes, and lap ratio are positively correlated with the applied VED. Under the optimized VED of 111.1 J/mm3, there is no obvious defect on the cross-section of SLM-fabricated H13 samples, implying a good metallurgical bonding is obtained. This study could provide theoretical and experimental basis for theregulation and control of metallurgical bonding quality of SLM-fabricated parts, which would become design guidelines.

Effects of Aqueous Extract of Schizandrae Fructus on Lead-Induced Change of Monoamine Neurotransmitters in Hippocampus

Zhao, Rong Jie,Zhao, Zheng Lin,Zhao, Xiu Feng,Zhao, Guang Wen,Li, Meng Quan,Wu, Yi Yan,Li, Jing Qiu,Guan, Li Xin,Kim, Sang-Chan The Korean Medicine Society for the Herbal Formula 2009 大韓韓醫學方劑學會誌 Vol.17 No.2

The effects of aqueous extract of Schizandrae Fructus (AESC) on lead (Pb)-induced changes of monoamine neurotransmitters in the hippocampus (HIP) of adult rats were investigated. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were received intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration of Pb acetate (5 mg/kg/d) for 28 days and sacrificed 7 days after the last administration. Concentrations of norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA), serotonin (5-HT), 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid (5-HIAA) in HIP were measured by HPLC. There were significant decreases of NE, DA, 5-HT and 5-HIAA in Pb treated rats (P < 0.05), while pretreatment with AESC (100 mg/kg/d or 300 mg/kg/d, p.o., 2 h before Pb) greatly inhibited the decrease of monoamine transmitters, respectively (P < 0.05). Also, AESC (300 mg/kg/d) significantly increased the reduction of glutathione contents and superoxide dismutase activities in HIP induced by chronic Pb. These results suggest that AESC ameliorates Pb-induced depletion of monoamine neurotransmitters in HIP through its antioxidant activity.

      • Optimization of Reference Genes for Normalization of the Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction in Tissue Samples of Gastric Cancer

Zhao, Lian-Mei,Zheng, Zhao-Xu,Zhao, Xiwa,Shi, Juan,Bi, Jian-Jun,Pei, Wei,Feng, Qiang Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.14

For an exact comparison of mRNA transcription in different samples or tissues with real time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), it is crucial to select a suitable internal reference gene. Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) and beta-actin (ACTB) have been frequently considered as house-keeping genes to normalize for changes in specific gene expression. However, it has been reported that these genes are unsuitable references in some cases, because their transcription is significantly variable under particular experimental conditions and among tissues. The present study was aimed to investigate which reference genes are most suitable for the study of gastric cancer tissues using qRT-PCR. 50 pairs of gastric cancer and corresponding peritumoral tissues were obtained from patients with gastric cancer. Absolute qRT-PCR was employed to detect the expression of GAPDH, ACTB, RPII and 18sRNA in the gastric cancer samples. Comparing gastric cancer with corresponding peritumoral tissues, GAPDH, ACTB and RPII were obviously upregulated 6.49, 5.0 and 3.68 fold, respectively. Yet 18sRNA had no obvious expression change in gastric cancer tissues and the corresponding peritumoral tissues. The expression of GAPDH, ${\beta}$-actin, RPII and 18sRNA showed no obvious changes in normal gastric epithelial cells compared with gastric cancer cell lines. The carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a widely used clinical tumor marker, was used as a validation gene. Only when 18sRNA was used as the normalizing gene was CEA obviously elevated in gastric cancer tissues compared with peritumoral tissues. Our data show that 18sRNA is stably expressed in gastric cancer samples and corresponding peritumoral tissues. These observations confirm that there is no universal reference gene and underline the importance of specific optimization of potential reference genes for any experimental condition.

      • Modulation of Drug Resistance in Ovarian Cancer Cells by Inhibition of Protein Kinase C-alpha (PKC-α) with Small Interference RNA (siRNA) Agents

        Zhao, Li-Jun,Xu, Heng,Qu, Jun-Wei,Zhao, Wan-Zhou,Zhao, Yi-Bing,Wang, Jin-Hua Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.8

Objective: To determine whether silence of $PKC-{\alpha}$ expression by small interference RNA (siRNA) might regulate MDR1 expression and reverse chemoresistance of ovarian cancer. Methods: We measured gene and protein expression of MDR1 and $PKC-{\alpha}$ in ovarian cancer cells and assessed their correlation with cell drug resistance. We also examined whether blocking $PKC-{\alpha}$ by RNA interference (RNAi) affected MDR1 expression and reversed drug resistance in drug sensitivity tests. Results: The drug resistance cell lines, OV1228/DDP and OV1228/Taxol, had higher gene and protein expression of MDR1 and $PKC-{\alpha}$ than their counterpart sensitive cell line, OV1228. SiRNA depressed $PKC-{\alpha}$ gene protein expression, as well as MDR1 and protein expression and improved the drug sensitivity in OV1228/DDP and OV1228/Taxol cells. Conclusion: These results indicated that decreasing $PKC-{\alpha}$ expression with siRNA might be an effective method to improve drug sensitivity in drug resistant cells with elevated levels of $PKC-{\alpha}$ and MDR1. A new siRNA-based therapeutic strategy targeting $PKC-{\alpha}$ gene could be designed to overcome the chemoresistance of ovarian cancer.
