The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratorysyndrome coronavirus 2 has rapidly spread globally. Cancer patients are at a higher risk ofbeing infected with the coronavirus and are more likely to develop severe complications, ascompared to the general population. The increasing spread of COVID-19 presents challengesfor the clinical care of patients with gynecological malignancies. Concerted efforts should beput into managing gynecological malignancies in an orderly manner by strictly implementingthe measures that are specifically developed for controlling the spread of COVID-19. We havedrafted Recommendations on Management of Gynecological Malignancies during the COVID-19 Pandemicbased on our experience on controlling COVID-19 pandemic in China. We recommendthat patients with gynecological malignancies should be managed in hierarchical andindividualized manners in combination with local conditions related to COVID-19. Medicalcare decision should be balanced between controlling COVID-19 pandemic spread and timelydiagnosis and treatment for gynecologic oncology patients.

Excessive Daytime Sleepiness and Insomnia Symptoms in Adolescents With Major Depressive Disorder: Prevalence, Clinical Correlates, and the Relationship With Psychiatric Medications Use

        Yudong Shi,Wei Li,Changhao Chen,Xiaoping Yuan,Yingying Yang,Song Wang,Zhiwei Liu,Feng Geng,Jiawei Wang,Xiangfen Luo,Xiangwang Wen,Lei Xia,Huanzhong Liu 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.11

Objective Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and insomnia symptoms are common in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), which might lead to a poor prognosis and an increased risk of depression relapse. The current study aimed to investigate the prevalence, and sociodemographic and clinical correlates of EDS and insomnia symptoms among adolescents with MDD.Methods The sample of this cross-sectional study included 297 adolescents (mean age=15.26 years; range=12–18 years; 218 females) with MDD recruited from three general and four psychiatric hospitals in five cities (Hefei, Bengbu, Fuyang, Suzhou, and Ma’anshan) in Anhui Province, China between January and August, 2021. EDS and insomnia symptoms, and clinical severity of depressive symptoms were assessed using Epworth sleepiness scale, Insomnia Severity Index, and Clinical Global Impression-Severity.Results The prevalence of EDS and insomnia symptoms in adolescents with MDD was 39.7% and 38.0%, respectively. Binary logistic regression analyses showed that EDS symptoms were significantly associated with higher body mass index (odds ratio [OR]=1.097, 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.027–1.172), more severe depressive symptoms (OR=1.313, 95% CI=1.028–1.679), and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors use (OR=2.078, 95% CI=1.199–3.601). And insomnia symptoms were positively associated with female sex (OR=1.955, 95% CI=1.052–3.633), suicide attempts (OR=1.765, 95% CI=1.037–3.005), more severe depressive symptoms (OR=2.031, 95% CI=1.523–2.709), and negatively associated with antipsychotics use (OR=0.433, 95% CI=0.196–0.952).Conclusion EDS and insomnia symptoms are common among adolescents with MDD. Considering their negative effects on the clinical prognosis, regular screening and clinical managements should be developed for this patient population.

Investigation on the Airflow Fields of New Melt-blown Dies with Rectangular Jets

        Yudong Wang,Fang Jiang,Wan’e Ning,Sheng Xie,Changchun Jiang 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.10

In order to reduce the fiber diameter and the energy consumption in the melt-blowing process, three new slot dies(slot die with air accelerator, slot die with stabilizers and slot die with extensions) are designed. The airflow fields of thesedies have been numerically calculated and experimentally verified. The results reveal that the slot die with stabilizers and slotdie with extensions have higher average stagnation temperatures, average air pressure and average turbulent kinetic energythan those of the common slot die. Compared with the common slot die, the slot die with air accelerator could increase theaverage stagnation temperature on the spinning line, however, its average pressure is reduced and the average turbulentkinetic energy is locally increased. By comprehensively comparing the average stagnation temperature, average air pressureand average turbulent kinetic energy on the spinning lines of these slot dies, the new slot die with stabilizers is the mostconducive to the attenuation of the melt-blowing fibers and the reduction of energy consumption. The research in this workcan have strong guiding significance for the optimization of die structure and the attenuation of melt-blowing fibers.

      • Multi-strategy enhanced kernel search optimization and its application in economic emission dispatch problems

        Dong Ruyi,LIUYANAN,Wang Siwen,Heidari Ali Asghar,Wang Mingjing,Chen Yi,Wang Shuihua,Chen Huiling,Zhang Yudong 한국CDE학회 2024 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.11 No.1

The kernel search optimizer (KSO) is a recent metaheuristic optimization algorithm that is based on kernel theory, eliminating the need for hyper-parameter adjustments, and demonstrating excellent global search capabilities. However, the original KSO exhibits insufficient accuracy in local search, and there is a high probability that it may fail to achieve local optimization in complex tasks. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-strategy enhanced KSO (MSKSO) to enhance the local search ability of the KSO. The MSKSO combines several control strategies, including chaotic initialization, chaotic local search mechanisms, the high-altitude walk strategy (HWS), and the Levy flight (LF), to effectively balance exploration and exploitation. The MSKSO is compared with ten well-known algorithms on 50 benchmark test functions to validate its performance, including single-peak, multi-peak, separable variable, and non-separable variable functions. Additionally, the MSKSO is applied to two real engineering economic emission dispatch (EED) problems in power systems. Experimental results demonstrate that the performance of the MSKSO nearly optimizes that of other well-known algorithms and achieves favorable results on the EED problem. These case studies verify that the MSKSO outperforms other algorithms and can serve as an effective optimization tool.

Incipient fault diagnosis for centrifugal chillers using kernel entropy component analysis and voting based extreme learning machine

        Yudong Xia,Qiang Ding,Aipeng Jiang,Nijie Jing,Wenjie Zhou,Jian Wang 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.3

Incipient fault detection and diagnosis for centrifugal chillers is significant for maintaining safe and effective system operation. Due to the advantages of simple learning algorithm and high generalization capability, the extreme learning machine (ELM) can identify faults quickly and precisely in comparison to conventional classification methods such as back propagation neural network (BPNN). This paper reports an effective diagnosis method for incipient chiller faults with the integration of kernel entropy component analysis (KECA) and voting based ELM (VELM). KECA was first performed to reduce the dimensionality of the original input data so as to minimize the model complexity and computational cost. Instead of using a single ELM, multiple independent ELMs were adopted in VELM, and then the class label could be predicted based on the majority voting method. Using the experimental data of seven typical faults together with a normal operation, the proposed KECA-VELM fault diagnostic model was trained and further validated. The results show that a better fault diagnosis performance can be achieved using the KECA-VELM classifier compared with the conventional BPNN, ELM and VELM based classifiers. The overall average fault diagnosis accuracy for the faults at the least severity level was reported over 95% based on the proposed method.

      • Identification of Second Order System with Inductive Storage Element Using Signal Compression Method and Applying SMCSPO

        Zhou Yudong,Gao Xueguan,Wang Jie,Bao Yulong,Min Cheol Lee 제어로봇시스템학회 2019 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2019 No.10

In this paper, we propose a new method based on signal compression method (SCM) to identify the system that contains dynamic parameters including the capacitive storage, energy dissipator, inductive storage terms. A typical DC motor system is set up and utilized to describe this method. Based on this method, sliding mode control with sliding perturbation observer (SMCSPO) is applied to design controllers. A simulation is performed to express the significance of thorough estimation of the system for the performance of the controller, and this research also experimentally demonstrates that the controller designed based on the dynamics estimated by the method of this paper can have great output tracking performance in a real physical system.

Application of galactinol to tomato enhances tolerance to cold and heat stresses

        Liu Yudong,Zhang Li,Ma Jian,Meng Sida,Pang Chunpeng,Zhao Xiaomeng,Zhang Huidong,Wang Shou,Xu Tao,He Yi,Liu Yufeng,Qi Mingfang 한국원예학회 2022 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.63 No.3

Galactinol, a galactosyl donor, is the key substrate in raffinose family oligosaccharide (RFO) biosynthesis pathways. Many studies proved that galactinol also regulates some defense-related genes to be transcribed as a sugar signal under biotic and abiotic stresses. There are four galactinol synthase (SlGolS) genes in tomato. In this study, SlGolS1, SlGolS2, and SlGolS4 responded to cold stress, especially SlGolS1 stems treated for 12 h and SlGolS4 stems treated for 24 h. Under heat stress, the expression levels of SlGolS1, SlGolS2, and SlGolS3, especially SlGolS1 and SlGolS2, increased in leaves, roots, and stems. When expressed in E. coli cells, SlGolS2 and SlGolS4 enhanced cold tolerance, whereas SlGolS1 and SlGolS3 improved heat tolerance. These results suggested that SlGolS family members played different roles in tolerance to cold and heat stresses. In addition, the application of galactinol or galactinol + α-galactosidase inhibitor (DGJ) improved the cold and heat tolerances of tomato plants, whereas the single application of DGJ had no effect. Interestingly, the applications of DGJ, galactinol, and galactinol + DGJ also affected the expression levels of SlRS, SlSTS, and SlAGAL under cold and heat stresses. These findings indicated that galactinol was involved in the biosynthesis pathways of RFOs as a galactosyl donor and regulated the expression levels of RFO biosynthesis and breakdown-related genes as a sugar signal under cold and heat stresses.

Research on Cold-Formed Steel Stiffened-Web Built-up I-Section Columns with Complex Edge Stiffeners

        Zhuangnan Zhang,Yudong Li,Chungang Wang,Yikai Hao,Jianqiao Song,Qinglin Guo 한국강구조학회 2022 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.22 No.1

A series of double-limbs built-up I-section simply supported specimens subjected to compression were examined. The test columns contained 18 concentric compression columns and 12 eccentric compression columns with three section forms respectively. The infl uence of web stiff eners on buckling mode, ultimate bearing capacity and interaction between limbs were studied. It was shown that stiff eners in web eff ectively decreased the element width-to-thickness ratio and increased the bearing capacity of built-up I-section columns. But when larger eccentricity made the moment control the failure of eccentric compression specimens, the bearing capacity of the specimens was not improved obviously by web stiff eners. Distortional buckling could replace local buckling to control the failure modes of columns. Compared with double-limbs channel steel built-up open-sections with complex edge stiff eners under the same steel quantity and eccentricity, the load carrying capacity of double limb Σ-shaped channel built-up sections increased from 4.4% to 20.3%. While for double limb channel with V-type web stiff ener sections, the increment was from 2.2% to 17.4%. Furthermore, parametric study of 90 Σ-shaped built-up section members was investigated to obtain the optimization proportion of the web sub-element and relationship of carrying capacity between single Σ-shaped section and double limb Σ-shaped I-section. Finally, the ultimate load-carrying capacity of built-up columns subjected to axial compression were calculated by two kinds of direct strength method formulas, which were compared with the tests values. The results showed that the method considered the interaction between distortional buckling and fl exural buckling could obtain conservative results.

Genome wide methylation analysis to uncover genes related to recurrent pregnancy loss

        Lixia Zhou,Yudong Pu,Yuxun Zhou,Bin Wang,Ye Chen,Yang Bai,Shuzhen He 한국유전학회 2021 Genes & Genomics Vol.43 No.4

Background Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) refers to two or more consecutive spontaneous abortion before 24 weeks of gestation, representing 1% of couples of childbearing age. Epigenetic factors including dysregulation of DNA methylation of some genes may play a role in RPL. Objective To identify RPL related genes modulated by DNA methylation expressed in decidua and blood. Methods Three decidua samples each from RPL patients and normal controls were recruited to perform genome-wide bisulfte sequencing (GWBS) and transcriptome sequencing. Based on the above results, 22.52 kb of diferential methylation regions (DMRs) from 17 genes were verifed by bisulfte sequencing PCR at specifc region (Hi-MethylSeq) in another 15 decidua (7RPL vs. 8 Controls) and 13 blood (5RPL vs. 8 Controls) samples. Results 23 genes showed signifcantly diferential cytosine methylation status and distinct expression level between PRL patients and healthy controls synergistically. Three signaling pathways were found to be shared between genes with both hypomethylated diferential methylation regions (DMR) and upregulated diferential gene expression (DGE). The results from Hi-MethylSeq showed that the hypermethylation of SGK1 in both blood and decidua samples in RPL patients, which was consistent to its lower expression in endometrium reported earlier. SGK3 and CREB5 also showed modulated methylation level in RPL decidua. Conclusion Our fnding supported that aberrant methylation of SGK1 and CREB5 could be a cause of the dysregulation of these gens in the endometrium, which is one of cause of reproductive failure. The function of SGK3 in reproduction system deserves further investigation.
