제주도 연안 인공어초 시설어장의 자원조성과 생산효과에 관한 연구

The adhesive condition of shellfish and seaweeds and effects of production for artificial reefs were surveyed through field investigation during the period of 1994~1998 in the coast of Jeju Island. The obtained results are summarized as follows : 1. 4 species of shellfish & 44 fishies (950g/m2) were found at Overbridge type reefs area in the coast of Hado-Ri and 2 species of shellfish & 21 fishies (475g/m2) were found at Horn trangular type reefs area in the coast of Ilgwa-Ri and 1 species of shellfish & 6 fishies (30g/m2) were found at Horn trangular type reefs area in the coast of Biyang-Do. This shows a high density of shellfish in that area except for Biyang-Bo reefs area. 2. Adhesive living condition of seaweeds was showed 9 species (8.270g/m2) in the Hado-Ri and 5 species (4 330g/m2) in the Ilgwa-Ri and 5 species (10.490 g/m2) in the Biyang-Do grounds. This showed a high density of Ecklonia cava and Sargassumm fulvellum in that area except far Biyang-Bo reef area, but Biyang-Do area was a high density of Codium fragile. 3. The result are catch per unit from trammel nets, artificial reef area was showed 5 species & 16 fishier (2.950g) and natural reef area was showed 4 species & 34 fishies (2.300g). Thus. a catched fishes in the artificial reef area was large size. natural reef area was small size fishes and control area was floating fishes.

Currents are measured in the Straits of Cheju by detecting surface buoy tracks and mooring current meters in 1996-1997. As a result, north-eastward currents are decteted in the Straits of Cheju all the year round, which is weak in spring and strong in summer and fall. Average speeds of 20 cm/s to the east. 7 cm/s to the north and 22 cm/s to the north-east appeared in the surface. Currents are fast in the middle of the strait and slow near Cheju Island. East-west components of the currents are about 3 times faster than the north-south ones. Also. it is shown that surface buoys released within the distance of 6 miles away from Cheju do not drift out of the Straits of Cheju because of tongue-like warm waters appeared in the eastern entrance of the strait. Volume transports calculated by geostrophic calculation are shown to be 0.05-0.2 Sv in winter and 0.4-0.5 Sv in summer.
Future of Bioplastics for Functionalized Food Packaging

The recent technical and practical trends in food packaging shows that there is a strong societal demand to innovate the traditional packaging technology through 1) utilizing more sustainable materials such as biopolymers and bioplastics, 2) delivering meaningful information or functionality on food packaging products before consumption, called smart food packaging, and 3) expansion of flexible packaging manufacturing processes such as multi-layer or composite structure. Upon the above technical and practical trends, this presentation will demonstrate 1) how societal concerns are impacting the packaging society such as impacts of Covid-19 on demands of bioplastic packaging and developments of new innovative bioplastics or system, and 2) how food packaging technology has evolved in academia and industry in the United States to meet with the above challenges. Furthermore, it will also review various applications of bioplastics and biopolymers in the views of sustainable smart food packaging systems which have actively been studied at the Virginia Tech packaging program.
Conductivity imaging of canine brain using a 3 T MREIT system: postmortem experiments

<P>Magnetic resonance electrical impedance tomography (MREIT) has the potential to provide conductivity images with high spatial resolution and accuracy. Recent studies using various conductivity phantoms showed that the spatial resolution could be similar to that of conventional MR images as long as enough current is injected. Before we try <I>in vivo</I> animal imaging studies using a small injection current of less than 5 mA, we have performed MREIT conductivity imaging of postmortem canine brains using 40 mA injection currents. The primary goals were to produce high-resolution conductivity images of white and gray matter <I>in situ</I> and to accumulate experimental techniques to undertake <I>in vivo</I> animal imaging studies in the near future. Reconstructed conductivity images of two canine brains with a pixel size of 1.4 ? 1.4 mm<SUP>2</SUP> showed a clear conductivity contrast between gray and white matter. Considering the anisotropic conductivity of white matter, we interpreted reconstructed conductivity images as equivalent isotropic conductivity images. Estimated conductivity ratios of white to gray matter were between 1.13 and 1.20 depending on the choice of a region of interest in reconstructed images. A higher conductivity value of white matter compared with that of gray matter stems from the fact that the reconstructed equivalent isotropic conductivity value of white matter reflects a high conductivity of white matter in the direction parallel to its fibers. We expect that this kind of postmortem animal imaging can provide conductivity information on tissues <I>in situ</I> to be utilized in numerous modeling studies.</P>

1. 본시험은 1967년 가을부터 1968년 가을까지 살균제루베롱(EMP), PMF, 석회유황합제, 쿠론(PCP제), PMA 5종을 공시하여 뽕나무 줄기마름병에 대한 그 효과를 비교 검토하였다. 2. 뽕나무 줄기마름병에 대한 약효에 있어서는 루베롱, PMF는 그 효과가 우수 하였으며, 다른 약제 및 무처리와는 고도의 유의성이 있었고 다른 약제는 무처리에 비하여 별로 그 효과를 인정할 수 없었다. 3. 본병 방제를 위하여 루베롱(EMP) 1500배액을 9월과 10월에 걸쳐 2회 정도 10a당 150를 가지기부(基部)에 충분히 살포하면 가장 효과적이고 다음은 PMF가 효과가 좋았다. 1. This experiment was made for a comparable test of five different chemicals on control effects of mulberry die back disease from the autum of 1967 to that of 1968. These chemicals were EMP, PMF, lime sulfur, chlon, and PMA. 2. The experiment showed the EMP and PMF were the best chemicals among those for controling it, and the others no significance comparing with the control. 3. The best way was a twice sprang of 150 l EMP(1/1500 con.) per 10ar to the base of branches to the full extent through september and october.
