The definition of data mining is the non-trivial extraction of implicit, previously unknown and potentially useful knowledge from data. Also, data mining has been worked on various fields such as database, machine learning, statistics, expert systems, and data visualization, and is a process consisting of these techniques. In many E-Commerce applications, it is important to build personalized profiles of individual users from their transaction histories. These profile constitute models of individual user behavior and can be specified with sets of rules learned from user transactional histories using various data mining techniques. In this paper, we present a MAS (multi-agent system) for customer management which maintains personal user information automatically, commands retrieval of products according to user preference, and builds personalized profiles of user.

HMG-CoA 환원효소 억제제에 의한 ICAM-1 유전자의 발현조절

Background : ICAM-1 act as one of major adhesion molecules in the atherosclerotic lesion. ICAM-1 expression is mainly regulated at the level of transcription and depend on IFN-γ signal transduction pathway in which the STAT1 transcrption factor is a critical intermediate. IFN-γreceptor not only initiates tyrosine 701 phosphorylation of STAT1 by Jak1 and Jak2, but also phosphorylates serine 727 through the activation of Raf-1/MAP kinases. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors have anti-atherosclertic effects, beyond normalization of hypercholesterolemia, by directly acting on endothelial cells, macrophages and vascular smooth muscle cells. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors suppress the synthesis of isoprenoid intermediates such as geranylgeranyl-pyrophosphate or farnesylpyrophosphate. These effects results inhibitors suppress the synthesis of isoprenoid intermediates such as geranylgeranyl-pyrophosphate or farnesylpyrophosphate. These effects results inhibition posttranslational farnesylation and geranyl-geranylation processing of small GTP-binding preoteins and inhibition of normal signaling activities. Method : We made several 5'-deletion constructs of rat ICAM-1 promoter and analyzed the promoter activities by measuring the luciferase activity after transfection into ECV304 cells and smooth muscle cells. We checked the level of total and phosphorylated STAT1 protein by immunoblot analysis using specific antibodies. Results : Lovastatin inhibits IFN-γ-induced ICAM-1 gene expression in the ECV304cell. The cells pretreated with PD98059, MEKK inhibitor showed significantly low ICAM-1 RNA induction with IFN-γ stimulatio. IFN-γ induced phosphorylation of tyrosine 701 was not significantly changed by the pretreatment of lovastatin. But lovastatin suppresses IFN-γ-induced phosphorylation of ERK1/ERK2 which are responsible for the seine 727 phosphorylation in STAT1. Conclusion : We showed that HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, lovastatin, suppresses IFN-γ mediated ICAM-1 gene expression through the inhibition of transcription. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor suppresses IFN-γ-induced phosphorylation of serine 727 in STAT1 through the modulation of MAP kinases.

Radiation-Induced Meningiomas Have an Aggressive Clinical Course: Genetic Signature Is Limited to NF2 Alterations, and Epigenetic Signature Is H3K27me3 Loss

Background: While the clinical course of radiation-induced meningioma (RIM) is considered to be more aggressive than that of sporadic meningioma (SM), the genetic predisposition for RIM is not established well. The present study aimed to analyze the clinical and genetic characteristics of RIMs to increase understanding of the tumorigenesis and prognosis of RIMs. Methods: We investigated a database of 24 patients who met the RIM criteria between January 2000 and April 2023. Genetic analysis through next-generation sequencing with a targeted gene panel was performed on 10 RIM samples. Clinical, radiological, and pathological parameters were evaluated with genetic analyses. Results: The median ages for receiving radiotherapy (RT) and RIM diagnosis were 8.0 and 27.5 years, respectively, with an interval of 17.5 years between RT and RIM diagnosis. RIMs tended to develop in non-skull bases and multifocal locations. Most primary pathologies included germ cell tumors and medulloblastoma. The tumor growth rate was 3.83 cm3 per year, and the median doubling time was 0.8 years. All patients underwent surgical resection of RIMs. The histological grade of RIMs was World Health Organization grade 1 (64%) or 2 (36%). RIMs showed higher incidences in young-age (63%), high-dose (75%), and extendedfield (79%) RT groups. The recurrence rate was 21%. Genetic analysis revealed NF2 one copy loss in 90% of the patients, with truncating NF2 mutations and additional copy number aberrations in grade 2 RIMs. TERT promoter mutation and CDKN2A/B deletion were not identified. Notably, loss of H3K27me3 was identified in 26% of RIMs. H3K27me3 loss was associated with a higher prevalence of grade 2 RIMs (67%) and high recurrence rates (33%). Conclusion: The study reveals a higher prevalence of high-grade tumors among RIMs with more rapid growth and higher recurrences than SMs. Genetically, RIMs are primarily associated with NF-2 alterations with chromosomal abnormalities in grade 2 tumors, along with a higher proportion of H3K27me3 loss.

Agranulocytosis, one of the major side effects of antithyroid a gents, probably occurs in less than 0.25% of cases treated with antithyroid agents. It usually occurs within the first several weeks or months after the initiation of therapy, when drug dosage is higher. Most reported cases of agranulocytosis have occurred during the first 3 months of therapy. We describe here a rare case that did not experience the side effect for 6 years of antithyroid agent treatment but presented with agranulocytosis in one month after re-exposure. It suggests that the major side effect such as agranulocytosis can occur in patients who had undergone prior uneventful antithyroid drug therapy.

A LONG-TERM FIELD TEST OF A LARGE VOLUME IONIZATION CHAMBER BASED AREA RADIATION MONITORING SYSTEM DEVELOPED AT KAERI

An Area Radiation Monitoring System (ARMS) ionization chamber, which had an 11.8 L active volume, was fabricated and performance-tested at KAERI. Low leakage currents, linearities at low and high dose rates were achieved from performance tests. The correlation coefficients between the ionization currents and the dose rates are 1 at high dose rate and 0.99 at low dose rate. In this study, an integration-type ARMS ionization chamber was tested over a year for an evaluation of its long-term stability at a radioisotope (RI) repository of the Young-gwang nuclear power plant. The standard deviation of dose rate of 1 day data and over a 100-days mean value were 6.2 $\mu$R/h and 2.9 $\mu$R/h, respectively. The fabricated ARMS ionization chamber showed stable performance from the results of the long-term tests. Design and performance characteristics of the fabricated ionization chamber for the ARMS from performance-tests are also addressed.

인터넷 중독 청소년들의 정신병리 및 대처 방식

This study was conducted to investigate the differences in psychopathology and coping strategies among internet addictors, over users and non addictors in high school students. Subjects were 273 high school students in Seoul city. Self rating questionnaires included demographic data, Young’s Internet Addiction Scale, SCL-90-R, Beck Depression Inventory, Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and The Way of Coping Strategy. Subjects were classified into 3 groups (addiction, over use, non addiction) by Internet Addiction Scale score. Prevalence of internet addiction was 4.3% and male adolescents were more addictive than female. Students who were mainly involved with internet chatting or game showed higher internet addiction score. The addiction group and over use group showed higher level of somatization, obsession, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, and paranoia than non-addicted group. Addiction group and over use group used passive coping strategies more frequently in the stressful situation than nonaddicted group. Also, the regression analysis for finding out causal factors that predicts internet addiction showed that emotion relieving strategy were important variable which predict internet addiction. Interpersonal sensitivity and emotion relieving coping strategy was important to predict addiction. This study showed that problematic internet use was closely associated with psychopathology and psychiatric comorbidity. And high interpersonal sensitivity and emotion relieving coping strategy were related with internet addiction in adolescence.

Rocuronium의 애별투여방법이 모지내전근의 이완에 미치는 영향

Objective : There are controversies in pnmmg technique of rocuronium whether it can or can't shorten the onset time. We want to compare the effects of two different priming doses and intervals of rocuronium. Materials and Methods : After giving propofol, 50 patients were randomly assigned to 5 groups. Group I received a placebo, followed 3 min later by rocuronium 0.6 mg/kg. Priming doses and intervals of Group II, Ill, N, V were 0.06 rng/kg and 2 min, 0.12 mg/kg and 2 min, 0.06 rug/kg and 3 min, 0.12 mg/kg and 3 min, respectively. Total dose of rocuronium was 0.6mg/kg. Train of four (TOF) count or ratio and 1st twitch height of TOF (T1) were monitored with 15 secondsintervals. TOF ratio of each groups just before bolus injection, duration for TOF count to reach zero and duration for Tl to reach 95% depression after bolus injection were compared. Results : Duration for TOF count to reach zero and duration for Tl to reach 95% depression after bolus injection were decreased in priming groups compared to Group 1 (P < 0.01) In group V, significant depression of TOF ratio just before bolus injection was seen (P < 0.05). Conclusion : Priming technique with rocuronium is effective method to shorten the onset of neuromuscular block. But priming dose of rocuronium itself could cause hypoxia and aspiration in awake patients and should be used carefully. Priming dose of rocuronium 0.06 mg/kg and 2 minutes interval maybe relatively safe method.

Running title: Cases of anesthesia for extremely low birth weight infant. Extremely low birth weight infants (birth weight < 1000 g) are prone to various morbidities such as respiratory distress syndrome, intraventricular hemorrhage, periventricular leukomalacia, patent ductus arteriosus, necrotizing enterocolitis and retinopathy. To accomplish successful anesthetic management, many precautions must be continuously taken during the operation. First, inspired oxygen concentration should be adjusted to avoid oxygen toxicity. Second, body temperature must be maintained adequately. Third, hemodynamic parameters should be kept stable. We report 2 cases of successful anesthetic management for extremely low birth weight infant who underwent ligation of patent ductus arteriosus at the neonatal intensive care unit.
