저자들은 척수압박으로 하지마비를 보인 환자에서 수술 후에 급성 백혈병에 동반된 과립구성 육종으로 진단된 환자 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Granulocytic sarcoma(GS) is an uncommon tumor composed of immature cells of the granulocytic series. Most case of GS occur in the course of acute leukemia and the blast crisis of chronic leukemia, Rarely, however, it may present before leukemia becomes clinically apparent. It may also occur in patients with myeloproliferative disoders. GS has been reported that it occurs in 3% to 9% of patients with acute myelogenous leukemia(AML) and the incidence of GS is reported to be higher in patients with t(8;21). GS occurs relatively commonly in africa and has been reported to affect 10-25% of black children presenting with AML. This is very rare case of granulocytic sarcoma with AML(FAB M5) presented with spinal cord compression which was supported by decompression laminectomy.
주정 중독 흰쥐 간의 Glyoxalase Ⅱ 활성에 미치는 총담관 결찰의 영향

To understand the biochemical background of alcohol hazards in hepatobiliary disease, the activities of the rat liver cytosolic and mitochondrial glyoxalase-Ⅱ(GLO-Ⅱ) were measured in cholestasis induced by common bile duct (CBD) ligation after chronic ethanol intoxication, and in cholestasis before acute ethanol intoxication. GLO-Ⅱ activities in the rat's liver cytosol and mitochondria showed more decrease when CBD was ligated after chronic ethanol intoxication than that in the CBD ligation alone. On the other hand, when CBD was ligated after chronic ethanol intoxication, the value of Vmax of the liver cytosolic and mitochondrial GLO-Ⅱ decreased significantly than that in the CBD was ligated alone. However, the values of Km of the liver cytosolic and mitochondrial GLO-Ⅱ did not change in the all experimental groups. Viewed from above results, when chronic ethanol intoxication is combined with cholestasis, GLO-Ⅱ in the liver seems to be decreased its activity than that in cholestasis, and the cause of the decrease is thought to be decreased biosynthesis. Accordingly, this result will be the datum supporting that alcoholic drink to be enzymologically harmful in hepatobiliary disease.
저염도 음식물 쓰레기를 이용한 퇴비시여가 배추의 생육에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to investigate the changes of physico-chemical properties of soil applied with compost made by food wastes and its effect on the growth and yield of Chinese cabbage. Chinese cabbage was grown in the soil treated with food waste compst(FWC) of 0, 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10㎏/3.3㎡. As the amount of FWC increased, number of leaves, leaf area and fresh weight increased where application of 5㎏ and 10㎏/3.3㎡ showed vigorous plant growth in the late growing period. The pH of soil by application of FWC was not raised, which was similar to the soil before treatment. Organic matter increased in soil by increasing the amount of FWC. However, concentration of Cu and Pb in the soil reduced. The concentration of available phosphate(P) was lower in the soil treated with FWC than in the soil before treatment, which means that a large amount of P may be uptaken by plant. This study suggested that FWC should be an alternative to chemical fertilizer for vegetable production.

This experiment was attempted to studies on nutrition value of pond snail. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The proximate composition of pond snail was shown to be crude protein 60,84%, Crude vat 7.89%, CRUDE ASH 14,26% and total sugar 17.89%, respectively. 2. Glu. Asp. Leu. and Phe. were dominant amino acid in pond snail, having 16.77%, 8.6%, 7.99% and 7.19% of total free amino and content respectively. The content of essential amino acid were Ileu. 217.9mg, Leu467.3 mg, Lys. 393.4 mg, Phe. 421.1 mg, Thr. 269.0 mg and Val. 251.1 mg, respectively. 3. The predominant fatty acids were Stearic 30.97%, Palmitic 28.49%, Linolenic 15% and Linaleic 8.12%, Respectively and the P/S Ratio was 0.54. 4. The content of minerals in pond snail were K 1050 mg, Na 106 mg, Ca 1202 mg, Mg 43.3 mg, Cu 10.5 mg, Fe 8 mg and Zn 0.9 mg, respectively.

Objectives : This study was carried out to suggest preventive methods for hypertension in cold-exposed workers. Methods : In 11 refs·iteration industries, 68 workers working in refrigerated areas more than one time per day were selected as the exposed group, and 68 workers not exposed to cold were selected as the control group. We interviewed the subjects with a questionnaire covering occupational history, and conducted clinical and laboratory tests including measurements of blood pressure and core temperature. Results : The systolic blood pressure in the exposed group(130.0±13.3 mmHg) was significantly higher than that recorded In the control group(118.3±12.1 mmHg), as was the diastolic blood pressure in the exposed group(82.7±8.5 mmHg) versus the control group(77.4±8.7 mmHg). The core temperature in the exposed group(36.1±0.7℃) was significantly lower than that experienced in the control group (36.4±0.5℃). In logistic regression analysis, age, cold exposure severity and milk intake were significant variables, with odds ratios of 5.204(95 % CI 1.440∼18.812), 2.674(95 % CI 1.080∼6.618), and 0.364(95 % Cl 0.141∼0.942) , respectively. Conclusions : Our study suggests that cold-exposed workers have higher a higher risk of hypertension, and that their core temperature is lower. Risk factors affecting hyper-tension of cold-exposed workers include age, cold exposure severity and milk intake. For the prevention of hypertension, cold-exposed workers should minimize cold-exposure time as much as possible.

Reye syndrome is a disorder of unknown etiology in which a child recovering form a viral prodrome suddenly develops pernicious vomiting & eventually develops neurologic changes. The syndrome is defined to acute noninflammatory encephalopathy with fatty degeneration of liver and other organs. The coagulopathy or Reye syndrome is associated with proloned PT caused by the mitochondrial injury compromising synthesis of proteins and clotting factors in liver. In this case, we observed ICH on right parietal and occipital area in brain CT. Actually, bleeding in the major organ is extremely rare in Reye syndrome, this may be the first case report of CNS bleeding in Korea associated with Reye syndrome. In addition to case report, we present a brief review of the related literatures.

Background: Cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitors are family of molecules that regulate the cell cycle. The CDKN2, a CDK4 inhibitor, also called p16, has been implicated in human tumorigenesis. The CDKN2, inhibits the cyclin/CDK complexes which regulate the transition from G1 to S phase of cell cycle. There is a previous repot that homozygous deletion of CDKN2 region on chromosome 9p21 was detected frequently in astrocytoma, glioma and osteosarcoma, less frequently in lung cancer, leukemia and ovarian cancer, but not detected in colon cancer and neuroblastoma. However, little is known about the relationship between CDKN2 and laryngeal cancer. Therefore this study was initiated to investigate the role of CDKN2 in human laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma development. Materials and methods: We used 5 human laryngeal carcinoma cell lines whether they have deletion or losses of CDKN2 gene expression by DNA-PCR or RT-PCR, respectively. We examined 8 fresh frozen human laryngeal cancer tissues to detect the loss of heterozygosity(LOH) of CDKN2 PCR was performed by using micosatellite markers of short arm of human chromosome 9 (D9S126, D9S144, D9S156, D9S161, D9S162,D9S166, D9S166, D9S171,D9S200 and D9SIFNA).For informative cases, allelic loss was scored of the signal of one allele was significantly decreased in tumor DNA when compared to eh same allele in normal DNA. Results: the CDKN2 DNA deletion was observed in 3 cell lines. The CDKN2 mRNA expression was observed in only one cell line, which was very weak. LOH was detected in 7 cases(87.5%) Conclusion: These results suggest that CDKN2 plays a role in the carcinogenesis of human laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma

본 연구에서는 인터넷을 통해 과학 개념을 학습할 수 있는 방안을 연구하는 데 목적이 있다. 과학개념학습에서 인터넷은 학습자의 과학에 대한 흥미와 호기심을 고취하고 상호작용을 촉진하는 역할을 한다. 인터넷을 활용한 과학 개념학습 모형으로는 과제 분담 학습, 소주제 토의 학습, 포럼형 학습을 들 수 있다. 과제 분담 학습은 인터넷에 제시된 과제를 학습자들이 팀을 구성하여 인터넷 학습자료와 교사의 안내를 바탕으로 분담 학습하고 인터넷을 통해 학습결과를 발표하며 종합하는 형태이다. 소주제 토의 학습은 인터넷에 게시된 토의 주제에 대해 인터넷 학습자료를 바탕으로 학습자의 의견 교환을 통해 학습하는 형태이다. 포럼형 학습은 인터넷에 제시된 포럼주제를 개별학습하나 후 발표하게 하면서 개념을 종합, 정리하는 학습 형태이다. The purpose of this study isi to find the internet concept learning model. The role of internet in concept learning is to facilitate the interest, stimulate the curiosity. The proper internet data in concept learning make interaction possible between one student and another students or teacher. The patterns of internet concept learning are jigsaw style learning, small size topic learning and forum style learning. The jigsaw style concept learning is constructed by setting stage of small, sharing stage of learning task, announcing stage of learning result by internet and colligating stage. In small size topic learning, students' can get the concept by exchanging of opinion through internet. The forum style concept learning is constructed by individual learning stage, announcing stage of learning result by internet and colligating stage.
