THE EMERGENCE OF ETHNORELIGIOUS CONFLICTS IN IRAQ

AS the first part to study ethno-religious conflicts and rebuilding the state in Iraq 2003 to 2009, the thesis will ultimately discuss why ethno-religious conflicts in Iraq emerged among the Sunnis, the Shiites and the Kurds in the beginning. In terms of studying the emergence and the brutalization of ethno-religious conflicts in Iraqi history, this paper will chronologically investigate these conflicts from a transitional period between the end of the Ottoman Empire (1550 - 1914) and the British mandate (1914 - 1932) in terms of the state formation of Iraq by the British authorities and according to the British interests in Iraq. As well, this paper will discuss how these conflicts played a significant role in the Iraqi political situation under the monarchy (1932 - 1958) and the Saddam regime (1958 - 1990). It explains how and when the Ba``th party emerged as the Iraqi political entity and how Saddam grew to play a significant role in Iraqi politics, how he manipulated these conflicts and used them as a means for his suppression of Iraqi political and religious minorities and maintaining his power.

The Mediating and Moderating Effect of Organizational Commitment in the Relationship among Internal Marketing, Job Satisfaction, and Customer Orientation

Based on previous studies, this study derived five factors of internal marketing, namely education and training, reward system, management support, communication, and empowerment. The main research purpose was to determine how these internal marketing factors affect job satisfaction, and to investigate the causal relationship between job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and customer orientation. In addition, this study tried to analyze the mediating and moderating effects of organizational commitment in the relationship between job satisfaction and customer orientation. To achieve the purpose of the study, a survey was conducted targeting police officers who are public security service providers. Data were collected by conducting a mobile survey for 10 days from June 16 to June 25, 2021. Of the 328 responses, 277 questionnaires were used for the final analysis, excluding the insincere responses. The analysis results are summarized as follows. First, it was confirmed that among the five factors of internal marketing, education and training, reward system, and empowerment had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. However, management support and communication did not have a significant effect on job satisfaction. On the other hand, in the relationship between job satisfaction and customer orientation, it was confirmed that there was a partial mediating effect and a positive moderating effect in the results of analysis of the mediating and moderating effects of organizational commitment.

A Study on the criteria for judging the responsibilities of the parties involved in Back to Back L/C fraud trade transactions

본 논문은 대법원 판례를 분석하여 대법원의 법리적 해석과 문제점을 매입은행에 관한 법리적 해석, Fraud Rule에 의한 법리적 해석, 선적서류 위조의 당사자에 관한 법리적 해석으로 제시하 였고 마스터와 백투백 신용장의 거래사실을 근거로 무역사기의 흔적을 분석하여 마스터와 백 투백 신용장 거래방식이 무역사기에 활용되고 있는 결제방식의 한계를 밝히었다. 마스터 신용 장의 거래당사자가 무역사기에 개입하였는지를 판단하는 기준을 제시하였다. 마스터 신용장의 개설의뢰인이 무역사기의 당사자인지는 마스터 신용장 개설의뢰인의 무역사 기 기획, 마스터와 백투백 신용장의 금융비용, 통관용 선하증권의 발행요청자로 판단하도록 하였다. 마스터 신용장의 수익자가 무역사기에 개입하였는지는 마스터 신용장의 선적서류와 환어음의 발행자, 마스터 신용장 선적서류와 환어음의 매입 요청일자, 스위치 선하증권의 발 행 요청자, 통관용 선하증권의 발행인지 여부로 판단하도록 하였다. 마스터 신용장 매입은행 이 무역사기를 인지하였는지는 매입은행의 마스터 신용장 선적서류와 환어음의 매입요청 일 자, 원 선하증권과 스위치 선하증권 발행자의 확인 여부, 매입대금 지급 근거, 통관용 선하증권 의 발행인지 여부로 판단하도록 하였다. 대법원 판례분석을 통하여 마스터 신용장의 개설은행 과 매입은행, 해상운송인에게 주는 시사점을 도출하였다. Purpose : To investigate the legal problems regarding the relationship between parties in Back to Back L/C fraud trade transactions, to present the criteria for judging trade fraud based on the relationship between the Master L/C and Back to Back L/C, and to prevent Back to Back L/C trade fraud by deducting the implications for the issuing bank and shipping carrier of the Master L/C. Research design, data, methodology : Literature review and analyzed Supreme Court Decision 2017Da21776 decided on November. 14, 2017 Results : First, the Supreme Court's legal interpretations of the negotiating bank, Fraud Rule, and the forgery of shipping documents were introduced as problems. Second, the limitations of the payment methods used in trade fraud between the Master L/C and Back to Back L/C were investigated. Third, the criteria for judging whether the parties of the Master L/C were involved was presented. Finally, through the analysis of the Supreme Court, the implications for the issuing bank, negotiating bank, and shipping carrier of the Master L/C were deducted. Conclusions : The Master L/C and Back to Back L/C payment method has loopholes where the issuing bank and the negotiating bank of Master L/C can be subjected to trade fraud. Given that the L/C trade fraud starts and ends with a bill of lading, the shipper who issues this bill of lading must be held accountable.

Brutalized and Internalized Ethno-Religious Conflicts in Iraq from 2003 to 2009

This paper focuses on Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990 and the Gulf War in 1991 as the starting point of the US intervention in Iraqi politics since 1991. In terms of emphasizing the UN economic sanctions against Saddam Hussein and the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, it criticizes that ethno-religious conflicts since 2003 became more internalized among ethno-religious groups and more severe with the advent of insurgent and militia groups as a consequence of US interference in Iraqi internal affairs, the poorly designed “Pre-War Reconstruction Plan of Post-War Iraq,” and a power shift to the Shiites. Furthermore, this paper discusses the US plan for post-Saddam Iraq as it played a fatal role in reshaping Iraqi politics among ethno-religious groups and explores what factors caused the failure of the reconstruction of Iraqi state after 2003 war.

Traffic flow models with nonlocal looking ahead-behind dynamics

Motivated by the traffic flow model with Arrhenius look-ahead relaxation dynamics introduced in \cite{SK06}, this paper proposes a traffic flow model with look ahead relaxation-behind intensification by inserting look behind intensification dynamics to the flux. Finite time shock formation conditions in the proposed model with various types of interaction potentials are identified. Several numerical experiments are performed in order to demonstrate the performance of the modified model. It is observed that, comparing to other well-known macroscopic traffic flow models, the model equipped with look ahead relaxation-behind intensification has both enhanced dispersive and smoothing effects

Effects of Auditory Feedback on Menu Selection in Hand-Gesture Interfaces

<P>With the increasing amount of new motion-sensing hardware, improving the usability of gesture interfaces is becoming more important. However, people don't accept gesture interfaces as comfortably as traditional interfaces because they lack the tactile or haptic feedback of traditional input methods, such as mice or keyboards. However, having tactile feedback in gesture interfaces isn't possible unless users are wearing a device with actuators. Therefore, auditory feedback is an appropriate and unique alternative for assisting visual feedback in gesture interfaces. The authors propose various types of novel auditory feedback methods and explore their effects as secondary feedback on complementing visual feedback. They performed a user study for a menu selection task, and experimental results show that the proposed auditory feedback is significantly more efficient and effective than visual-only feedback or conventional auditory feedback in terms of time and accuracy.</P>
