        NVST Data Archiving System Based On FastBit NoSQL Database

        The New Vacuum Solar Telescope (NVST) is a 1-meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe the fine structures of active regions on the Sun. The main tasks of the NVST are high resolution imaging and spectral observations, including the measurements of the solar magnetic field. The NVST has been collecting more than 20 million FITS files since it began routine observations in 2012 and produces a maximum observational records of 120 thousand files in a day. Given the large amount of files, the effective archiving and retrieval of files becomes a critical and urgent problem. In this study, we implement a new data archiving system for the NVST based on the Fastbit Not Only Structured Query Language (NoSQL) database. Comparing to the relational database (i.e., MySQL; My Structured Query Language), the Fastbit database manifests distinctive advantages on indexing and querying performance. In a large scale database of 40 million records, the multi-field combined query response time of Fastbit database is about 15 times faster and fully meets the requirements of the NVST. Our study brings a new idea for massive astronomical data archiving and would contribute to the design of data management systems for other astronomical telescopes.

        Recovery of Ganoderic Acids from Ganoderma lucidum Mycelia by Macroporous Adsorption Resins

        In this work, the performance and adsorption characteristics of macroporous resins for the recovery and enrichment of ganoderic acid (GA)-Mk and GA-T from Ganoderma lucidum mycelia were systematically evaluated. ADS-8 resin displayed the best adsorption and desorption capacities among the tested resins based on batch experiments. The interaction between solute and ADS-8 resin at different temperatures was described in terms of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms, and the equilibrium experimental data were well fitted to the two isotherms. Thermodynamic analysis indicated the exothermic and spontaneous nature of the adsorption process. The adsorption capacity of ADS-8 resin was found to depend strongly on the pH value of the initial solution. Dynamic adsorption and desorption tests were performed on an ADS-8 resin-packed column to obtain optimal parameters for recovering GA-Mk and GAT from G. lucidum extract. Under optimized conditions, a laboratory scale-up preparation of GA-Mk and GA-T was carried out. The contents of GA-Mk and GA-T were increased from 45 to 22 mg/g in the crude extract to 352and 141 mg/g in the final product with recovery yields of 90.1 and 72.2%, respectively. These results demonstrated that ADS-8 resin chromatography could act as a useful approach for obtaining ganoderic acids from G. lucidum mycelia.

        Overexpression of microRNA-612 Restrains the Growth, Invasion, and Tumorigenesis of Melanoma Cells by Targeting Espin

        microRNA (miR)-612 shows anticancer activity in several types of cancers, yet its function in melanoma is still unclear. This study was undertaken to investigate the expression of miR-612 and its biological relevance in melanoma cell growth, invasion, and tumorigenesis. The expression and prognostic significance of miR-612 in melanoma were examined. The effects of miR-612 overexpression on cell proliferation, colony formation, tumorigenesis, and invasion were determined. Rescue experiments were conducted to identify the functional target gene(s) of miR-612. miR-612 was significantly downregulated in melanoma tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues. Low miR-612 expression was significantly associated with melanoma thickness, lymph node metastasis, and shorter overall, and disease-free survival of patients. Overexpression of miR-612 significantly decreased cell proliferation, colony formation, and invasion of SK-MEL-28 and A375 melanoma cells. In vivo tumorigenic studies confirmed that miR-612 overexpression retarded the growth of A375 xenograft tumors, which was coupled with a decline in the percentage of Ki-67-positive proliferating cells. Mechanistically, miR-612 targeted Espin in melanoma cells. Overexpression of Espin counteracted the suppressive effects of miR-612 on melanoma cell proliferation, invasion, and tumorigenesis. A significant inverse correlation (r = -0.376, P = 0.018) was observed between miR-612 and Espin protein expression in melanoma tissues. In addition, overexpression of miR-612 and knockdown of Espin significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to doxorubicin. Collectively, miR-612 suppresses the aggressive phenotype of melanoma cells through downregulation of Espin. Delivery of miR-612 may represent a novel therapeutic strategy against melanoma.

      • Optimal Design on Policies of Industrial Eco-Economic System in China under the Constraint of Energy Saving and Carbon Emission

        With the purpose of resolving the contradiction between economic growth and environmental deterioration, this paper, using carbon emission as an example, analyzes the critical factors in current industry policies, builds a model for system dynamics, simulates the impacts of different policies on the economy, energy and environment under various scenarios, and gives suggestions on the optimal design of policies. It is shown that: (I) the adjustment of industrial structure and energy taxation according to prices are helpful in delaying the economic recession, but energy taxation according to quantity and the carbon tax within a short period will inhibit the economic growth. (II) Only the adjustment of energy structure has a significant impact on energy intensity. (III) The implementation of carbon tax and the adjustment of energy structure are the most significant two factors in changing carbon intensity, and the latter is the best option because of no significant negative effect in economy. But, carbon tax should be carried out gradually in the long run. (IV) The advantage of human capital is shown in the comparison of investment structure, which provides a basis direction for investment in the future. (V) The transformation of energy tax collection modes plays its regulatory role in rationally exploiting energy and protecting environment.

        Research on the Cutting Performances and Wear Mechanisms of TiAlCrN Coated Tools during Dry Turning

        Physical vapour deposition technique was used to deposit TiAlCrN coatings on the YT15 tungsten carbide inserts. The dry turning tests of 20CrMo steel were carried out to evaluate performances of TiAlCrN coated and uncoated tools on the CA6140A lathe. The effect of the two kinds of tools on cutting forces, cutting temperature, surface roughness and tool wear had been investigated to assess the performance of TiAlCrN coated tools. The results showed that the cutting force and cutting temperature obtained by TiAlCrN coated tools were decreased and the TiACrN coated tools produced a better surface finish in comparison with the uncoated tools. The TiAlCrN coated tools yield working life about 45 min, which was two times of that for uncoated tools. The wear mechanisms of the TiAlCrN coated tools were mainly oxidation and boundary wear, accompanied with diffusion wear.

        중국 8090세대 여성들의 라이프스타일에 따른 한국 화장품 구매행동 및 브랜드 선호도 차이

        The purpose of this paper is to target on the Chinese 8090 generation women and to research according their lifestyle the differences between Korean cosmetic purchasing behavior and brand preference, and to put forward basic data for the differentiated marketing strategy of the major consumer``s lifestyle in Chinese cosmetics market. Questionnaires data of 321 Chinese 8090 generation women who had purchase experience of Korean cosmetic products. According to the result of this study, the Chinese 8090 generation women``s lifestyle was classified into 3 groups such as ``Korean trend-oriented group``, ``fashion trend-oriented group``, and ``Entertainment trend-oriented group``, the different groups of 8090 generation who were influenced by the Korean cosmetic purchase behavior and brand preference. The ``Korean trend-oriented group`` used online shopping mall mostly according to their own experience and this group considered their skin types. This group made great point on the brand image, price, store image, advertising models and purchase atmosphere as well. The ``Fashion trend-oriented group`` were considered their skin type according to the TV and Internet advertisements and used internet shopping mall mostly. The ``Entertainment trend-oriented group`` tend to use tax free shop and attached great importance to advertising model and the store identity. The first consideration of their skin condition was according to their own experience.

      • A System Performance Estimation Model for Cassandra Database

        Cassandra database system is one of the universal databases. To achieve high performance, we should allocate memory space rationally according to actual demands. Otherwise, it will influence reading and writing performance. Actually, we always allocate memory space according to experience and repeated attempts which usually won’t give us the best answer. To solve this problem, firstly we analyze the reading and writing processing of the Cassandra database and find out the corresponding memory space which will influence system performance. Secondly, we build up a relationship model between system performance and memory allocation and name it as The Memory Model of Reading and Writing Performance. We have already applied the relationship model to real database servers to guide memory allocation and performance evaluation. Simulation results show that this memory model could well describe the quantization relationship of memory space and system performance.

      • A Comparison of the Lookup Table and On-The-Fly Calculation Methods for the Beamforming Control Unit

        Modern diagnostic ultrasound beamformers require extensive delay information for the focusing of each focal point along the image lines. For a typical beamforming system with dynamic delays, the beamforming control unit is used to calculate the delay information and generate instant delay profiles in order to achieve dynamic focusing beamforming. In this study, the beamforming control unit targeted at a home-based portable delta-sigma oversampled ultrasound beamforming setup was developed. The beamforming principle for 1-D linear transducer array with dynamic aperture was exploited, and three delay generation methods including complete lookup table, compressed lookup table with delta encoding and general parametric algorithm were investigated, implemented and synthesized using VHDL for a FPGA device Spartan-3E XC3S500E. A comparison was performed among the three delay generation methods on their performances in terms of overall logic resource usage and power consumption.
