Determinants of Implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning System: A Case Study in Vietnam

Xuan Hiep NGUYEN,Thi Cam Loan NGUYEN,Xuan Dao MAI,Thi To Loan BUI,Thi Tra Giang TRAN,Thuy Trinh HO,Thi Huyen NGUYEN 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.4

Under the pressure of business competition and effectiveness, more and more organizations in the world are likely to apply modern software such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) which can help them to create better organizing practice, better managing capabilities of administrators, and better operations of personnel. In Vietnam, many firms are afraid to install it and the number of firms adopting this software is limited mainly due to the insufficient scientific evidence of the successful implementation of ERP. This study aims to identify and measure the factors influencing the successful implementation of ERP of firms in Vietnam. Qualitative research methodology combined with quantitative research methodology is used. The data are surveyed with 343 administrators of 45 organizations that have successfully deployed ERP in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh cities. Of these 19 were excluded from analyses due to unsatisfactory responses, and only 324 were used for statistical processing. The collected data were processed by using the SPSS software. The result of the study shows that there are six factors affecting the successful implementation of ERP of firms in Vietnam, (ranked in descending order of importance), they are top management commitment and support, business process re-engineering, user involvement, project management board, vendor support, and suitability of software and hardware.

A Cell-based Smoothed Finite Element Method for Three Dimensional Solid Structures

        Hung Nguyen-Xuan,Hiep Vinh Nguyen,Stephane Bordas,Timon Rabczuk,Marc Duflot 대한토목학회 2012 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.16 No.7

This paper extends further the strain smoothing technique in finite elements to 8-noded hexahedral elements (CS-FEM-H8). The idea behind the present method is similar to the cell-based smoothed 4-noded quadrilateral finite elements (CS-FEM-Q4). In CSFEM,the smoothing domains are created based on elements, and each element can be further subdivided into 1 or several smoothing cells. It is observed that: 1) The CS-FEM using a single smoothing cell can produce higher stress accuracy, but insufficient rank and poor displacement accuracy; 2) The CS-FEM using several smoothing cells has proper rank, good displacement accuracy, but lower stress accuracy, especially for nearly incompressible and bending dominant problems. We therefore propose 1) an extension of strain smoothing to 8-noded hexahedral elements and 2) an alternative CS-FEM form, which associates the single smoothing cell issue with multi-smoothing cell one via a stabilization technique. Several numerical examples are provided to show the reliability and accuracy of the present formulation.

A Simulation Combination Approach between GAMA and DIGIPLANT for Rice Plant Growth Visualization under Brown Planthopper Infestation

Hiep Xuan Huynh,Man Ba Huynh,Hai Thanh Nguyen 대한전자공학회 2021 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.10 No.4

Rice plays an important role in the lives of the people of Vietnam and numerous Asian countries. It contributes not only a major food source, but also export value. Brown plant hoppers (BPHs) are one of the sources of harm in the production of rice and make it weaker and poorly developed. In this study, we present a method to transfer a data simulation from GAMA to DIGIPLANT. We simulated the development of rice plants in a case where they were attacked by BPH in DIGIPLANT software. The scope of this work is to study BPH transmitting yellow dwarf disease to the rice plants. The study has applied methods of modeling like agent-based modeling to the growth and propagation of BPH under the impact of various environments in GAMA. An agriculturist can use the output value from simulating and modeling the growth and propagation of a BPH to provide the levels of influence on the height of rice with yellow dwarf disease infection.

China-ASEAN Trade Relations: A Study of Determinants and Potentials

TRAN, Hiep Xuan,HOANG, Nhan Thanh Thi,NGUYEN, Anh Thuy,TRUONG, Hoan Quang,DONG, Chung Van Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.9

The purpose of this study is to investigate the development and determinants of China-ASEAN trade relations over the period of 2000-2018. Employing both the qualitative and quantitative approaches, the results show that the trade relations between China and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) have remarkably developed and rapidly grown over times, with a significantly important concentration on the segments of high technological and medium technological products. We also find that China's economic scale is crucially impacting on the China-ASEAN trade relations under both the aggregate and sub-sector level. It is interesting to notice that there is no evidence to support accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and officially forming of ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) to enhance trade relation between both sides. The findings also quantitatively indicate that there is much significant potential for the expansion of mutual trade between China and some members of ASEAN such as Brunei, Laos and Malaysia, while less potential is predicted for other members of ASEAN. It is strongly suggested that China and ASEAN should find a new proactive approach and make more efforts in improving the mutual political trusts to enhance trading activities in the coming years.

A Novel Approach for Accessing Semantic Data by Translating RESTful/JSON Commands into SPARQL Messages

Khiem Minh Nguyen,Hai Thanh Nguyen,Hiep Xuan Huynh 대한전자공학회 2016 IEIE Transactions on Smart Processing & Computing Vol.5 No.3

Linked Data is a powerful technology for storing and publishing the structures of data. It is helpful for web applications because of its usefulness through semantic query data. However, using Linked Data is not easy for ordinary users who lack knowledge about the structure of data or the query syntax of Linked Data. For that problem, we propose a translator component that is used for translating RESTful/JSON request messages into SPARQL commands based on ontology – a metadata that describes the structure of data. Clients do not need to worry about the structure of stored data or SPARQL, a kind of query language used for querying linked data that not many people know, when they insert a new instance or query for all instances of any specific class with those complex structure data. In addition, the translator component has the search function that can find a set of data from multiple classes based on finding the shortest paths between the target classes - the original set that user provide, and target classes- the users want to get. This translator component will be applied for any dynamic ontological structure as well as automatically generate a SPARQL command based on users’ request message.

Impact of Digital Literacy on Intention to Use Technology for Online Distribution of Higher Education in Vietnam: A Study of Covid19 Context

LE Thi Lan Huong,HOANG Vu Hiep,HOANG Mai Duc Minh,NGUYEN Hong Phuc,BUI Xuan Bach 한국유통과학회 2022 유통과학연구 Vol.20 No.6

Purpose: This research aims to provide empirical evidence on the impact of digital literacy on behavioural intention regarding using technology for distribution of higher education. Design, Methodology, and Approach: Quantitative analysis was carried out using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Model with data collected from 901 students who fully experienced 2-year study online at different universities in Vietnam. The structural model was built with digital literacy as the primary indicator and other variables were included based on modified version of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) by adopting performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, habit, and hedonic motivation variables specifically for education sector. Self-efficacy was added to eliminate possible bias in technology acceptance. Results: From the results of model estimation, digital literacy presented positive impact on the online distribution of higher education in Vietnam. The mediating effects of various indicators such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, habit, hedonic motivation, and self-efficacy are significantly determined by research model. Conclusion: The higher level of digital literacy of the students, the more likely that they will use technology in higher education study, especially online learning. Additionally, the mediating effects of indicators from the UTAUT2 theoretical model were also evident to be positively significant.
