This paper describes Trans-less type utility interactive system that is combined with buck/boost chopper applying partial resonant method, which remove Trans, and high efficient PWM inverter. Therefore, it is possible to make it lightweight, to cut down the cost, and to improve its reliability. What the merits of this system are that we can transmit arbitrary power to load and utility regardless of generating voltage magnitude and we can always obtain high factor controlling by equal phase signal with utility.

Tumoral calcinosis is rarely encountered disease, and most of reported cases involved large joints such as hip or elbow. We report two patients with tumoral calcinosis in the foot. In the 1st case, the lesion was observed at the 1st MP joint of foot, and in the 2nd case it was found at the DIP joint of 5th toe area with bony erosion which is rare in other tumoral calcinosis. They all needed evaluation with MRI, and eventually surgical excision.

Solanum Iyratum Thunb (Solanaceae) has multiple applications in korean traditional medicine because of its cytotoxic, immunological and anti-inflammatory activities. However, no study on the anti-arthritic activity of Solanum Iyratum Thunb has been reported in vivo. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic autoimmune disease with chronic inflammation characterized by hyperplasia of synovial cells in affected joints, which ultimately leads to the destruction of cartilage and bone. Cytokine production were assessed during CIA(collagen-induced arthritis) model mice in lymph node (LN), in knee joint and spleen, using ELISA. DBA/1j mice were immunized with bovine type II collagen. After a second collagen immunization, mice were treated with Solanum Iyratum Thunb (SLT) orally at 400, 200 mg/kg once a day for 4 weeks. The severity of arthritis within the knee joints was evaluated by histological assessment of cartilage destruction and pannus formation. SLT significantly suppressed the progression of CIA and inhibited the production of TNF-alpha and IFN-gamma in serum and spleen cell culture supernatant. The erosion of cartilage was dramatically reduced in mouse knees after treatment with SLT. In conclusion, our results demonstrates that SLT significantly suppressed the progression of CIA. This action was characterized by suppression of arthritis index, cartilage erosion and synovial cell infiltration and the decreased production of $TNF-{\alpha}$, $IFN-{\gamma}$, CD4+, CD19+, CD3+/CD69+ cells (in lymph node), CD11b+/Gr-1 + (in knee joint).

Thirteen subspecies of Bacillus thuringiensis including B. t. israelensis, B. t. morrisoni PG-14 and B.t. darmstadoemsos known to be toxic to dipteran insects were treated on the mushroom (Flammulina velutipes) compost to estimate the biological control effect of a sciarid fly, Lycoriella sp. According to the results, it was found that there were no significant effects of the tested strains of B, thuringiensis on the control of Lycoriella sp. For further confirmation, larval gut juice of Lycoriella sp. and trypsin were respectively treated into the parasporal crystal proteins of three subspecies of B. t. israelensis, B. t. morrisoni PG-14, and B. t. darmstadiensis. The proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE. According to the results, the major parasporal crystal proteins were respectively produced by B. t. morrisoni as the amount of 52 kd, B. y. israelensis as 37kd and B. t. darmstadiensis as 39kd, but the activity of these proteins could not be unfortunately confirmed in this study.
Microwave Absorbance of Polymer Composites Containing SiC Fibers Coated with Ni-Fe Thin Films
Liu, Tian,Kim, Sung-Soo,Choi, Woo-cheal,Yoon, Byungil The Korean Powder Metallurgy Institute 2018 한국분말재료학회지 (KPMI) Vol.25 No.5
Conductive and dielectric SiC are fabricated using electroless plating of Ni-Fe films on SiC chopped fibers to obtain lightweight and high-strength microwave absorbers. The electroless plating of Ni-Fe films is achieved using a two-step process of surface sensitizing and metal plating. The complex permeability and permittivity are measured for the composite specimens with the metalized SiC chopped fibers dispersed in a silicone rubber matrix. The original non-coated SiC fibers exhibit considerable dielectric losses. The complex permeability spectrum does not change significantly with the Ni-Fe coating. Moreover, dielectric constant is sensitively increased with Ni-Fe coating, owing to the increase of the space charge polarization. The improvements in absorption capability (lower reflection loss and small matching thickness) are evident with Ni-Fe coating on SiC fibers. For the composite SiC fibers coated with Ni-Fe thin films, a -35 dB reflection loss is predicted at 7.6 GHz with a matching thickness of 4 mm.

Purpose : Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis is a rare type of benign soft tissue tumor, which appears as nodules of various size, and it is mainly located on lower extremity, buttock or thigh. Since the condition was first described by Hoffman and Zurhelle in 1921, a number of cases have been reported in Korea. However, nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis combined with infiltrative lipoma is a very rare case. So we report the experienced case of huge multiple nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis combined with infiltrative lipoma around the muscle layer. Methods: A-52-year old male presented with small masses on lateral surface of left thigh. These masses have appeared since he was approximately 10 years old approximately and tended to conjoin each other. Because of no specific symptoms, he didn't take any treatment before visiting PNUH. As the conjoined masses growing, it made discomfort in the ordinary life. The lesion was cerebriform tumor (30cm x 25cm). During the operation under general anesthesia, we removed completely the masses with lipoma that involved muscle layer. And then we covered the area of exposured muscle and fascia with artificial dermis(Surederm) and reconstructed with using procedure of split thickness skin graft. Results: The subcutaneous fat was dissected and the masses were resected with fascia and some fatty layer that involved muscle layer around gluteus maximus muscle. In the histologic finding, the clusters of fat cells were scattered at papillary dermis and reticular dermis, and a quarter of dermis was replaced by adipose tissue. Conclusions : Although we couldn't find out the relationship between the infiltrative lipoma and nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis. We experienced the unreported case of nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis accompanied with infiltrative lipoma which invaded around gluteus maximus muscle and spermatic cord. With this cases, we hope it would help the mechanism of nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis with additional investigation of the relationship or sequence between this disease and infiltrating lipoma.

N/A Introduction: Tc-99m-(V)-DMSA is a tumor seeking agent that has been used to image medullary carcinoma of thyroid, soft tissue sarcoma and lung cancer. This study was designed to assess the clinical role of Tc-99m-(V)-DMSA in the diagnosis of head and neck cancers. We has evaluated the diagnostic efficacy of planar and SPECT imaging using Tc-99m-(V)-DMSA. Patients and Method: Sixty-eight patients with head and neck mass were included in this study. All subjects were diagnosed by biopsy or surgery. Planar and SPECT images were obtained at 2 or 3 hour after intravenous injection of 740 MBq(20 mCi) Tc-99m-(V)-DMSA. Seventeen patients also underwent SPECT imaging using dual head camera. Results: The diagnostic sensitivity of Tc-99m-(V)-DMSA planar and SPECT imaging was 65% and 90%, and specificity was 80% and 66%, respectively. The sensitivity of planar imaging in squamous cell carcinoma was similar to overall sensitivity. Six metastatic lesion were first diagnosed by scintigraphy. But benign lesions such as Kikuchi syndrome, tuberculous lymphadenitis also revealed increased uptake. Conclusion: Tc-99m-(V)-DMSA imaging seems to be a promising method in the evaluation of patients with head and neck mass. We recommend SPECT imaging to delineate anatomic localization of the lesion.
