Objective: Anticonvulsants are known to be effective to manage affective instability and aggressive behavior by reducing neuronal excitability. This study examined the efficacy and safety of topiramate, a novel anticonvulsant, on disruptive behavioral problems in children and adolescents, with or without mental retardation (MR), and the differences of short-term efficacy and safety according to the IQ levels. Methods and Materials: Fifty-four children and adolescents with disruptive behavioral problems were enrolled in a 6- week, open-label study. All subjects were divided into 3 groups (subjects without MR, Non-MR; subjects with mild MR, Mild MR; and subjects with moderate to severe MR, Mod-Severe MR) based on their intellectual ability, and treated with topiramate. Outcome measures included the Aberrant Behavior Checklist Hyperactivity (ABC-H) and Irritability (ABC-I) subscales and the Clinical Global Impression Severity (CGI-S) scale. Results: Significant reduction of CGIS, ABC-H, and ABC-I scores were noted in all three groups in the following order: Non-MR, Mild MR, and Mod-Severe MR. Parethesia, anorexia, somnolence, nocturnal enuresis, and urinary frequency were relatively common adverse event. However, no serious adverse events were reported. Conclusions: Topiramate was effective and well tolerated for managing disruptive behavioral problems and emotional instability in children and adolescents.
Effective identification of dominant fully absorbing sets for Raptor-like LDPC codes

The error-rate floor of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes is attributed to the trapping sets of their Tanner graphs. Among them, fully absorbing sets dominantly affect the error-rate performance, especially for short blocklengths. Efficient methods to identify the dominant trapping sets of LDPC codes were thoroughly researched as exhaustively searching them is NP-hard. However, the existing methods are ineffective for Raptor-like LDPC codes, which have many types of trapping sets. An effective method to identify dominant fully absorbing sets of Raptor-like LDPC codes is proposed. The search space of the proposed algorithm is optimized into the Tanner subgraphs of the codes to afford time-efficiency and search-effectiveness. For 5G New Radio (NR) base graph (BG) 2 LDPC codes for short blocklengths, the proposed algorithm finds more dominant fully absorbing sets within one seventh of the computation time of the existing search algorithm, and its search-effectiveness is verified using importance sampling. The proposed method is also applied to 5G NR BG1 LDPC code and Advanced Television Systems Committee 3.0 type A LDPC code for large blocklengths.
Stress analysis of rotating annular hyperbolic discs obeying a pressure-dependent yield criterion

The Drucker-Prager yield criterion is combined with an equilibrium equation to provide the elastic-plastic stress distribution within rotating annular hyperbolic discs and the residual stress distribution when the angular speed becomes zero. It is verified that unloading is purely elastic for the range of parameters used in the present study. A numerical technique is only necessary to solve an ordinary differential equation. The primary objective of this paper is to examine the effect of the parameter that controls the deviation of the Drucker-Prager yield criterion from the von Mises yield criterion and the geometric parameter that controls the profile of hyperbolic discs on the stress distribution at loading and the residual stress distribution.

Virtual engineering is simulations of engineering activity performed in virtual environment to assist engineering decisions and controls. Virtual engineering can help bringing the detailed design to the early stage of product development. Thus, virtual engineering can be a critical tool for shortening product development schedule. Currently some advanced automobile companies such as chrysler have been actively employ virtual engineering in their product development, and reported a drastic improvement in product development time. In order to complete in the world market, Korean automaobile companies also need to employ virtual engineering. There are several obstacles for Korean automobile to overcome in the Processes of reaching to virtual engineering .The most important one is that they need to employ a master CAD model that can be used for geometric design, CAE analysis, and simulations.<br/>
환형 다중 스월 인젝터 가스터빈엔진 연소기의 연소 불안정 및 배기가스 예측 LES

스월 인젝터를 이용한 가스터빈엔진 환형 연소기의 난류 연소 유동 특성 연구를 위해 3차원 Large eddy simulation(LES)과 flamelet 해석 기법이 적용되었다. 유동해석 결과, 인젝터에서 분사되는 유동의 상호작용에 의해 불안정성이 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 연소실내 유동구조에 의해 발생되는 음향모드의 해석결과를 통해 반경/접선방향의 불안정성이 지배적인 것을 확인하였다. 본 연소기는 예혼합 희박조건으로 운전되며, 그 결과 환경오염물질인 NO가 약 9.6ppm 배출되는 것을 확인하였다. Turbulent combustion characteristics of an annular combustor with the swirl injectors of gas turbine engine has been investigated by 3D large eddy simulation(LES) and flamelet analysis technique. High pressure fluctuation occurs due to the interactions among neighbor injectors. The pressure fluctuation is amplified dominantly along radial/tangential direction in annular combustor. NO, the one of the environmental contaminant, is emitted of approximately 9.6ppm in the entire combustor due to the lean burn condition in the combustor.
