        Multidisciplinary optimization of etch process chamber on the basis of MCDM

        A multidisciplinary optimization integrating flow and plasma performance was used to develop an etch process chamber with dualfrequencycapacitively coupled plasma. Pressure and ion density characteristics are significantly influenced by structures, such as electrodegap, number of confinement rings, electrode radius, and process conditions of flow rate. This study aims to minimize the objectivefunctions of pressure and ion density simultaneously. Based on flow and plasma simulation, an approximation model is created usingquartic response surface method (RSM). A genetic algorithm was utilized to explore Pareto front. The concept of entropy weight is combinedwith the weight defined in analytic hierarchy process to create a synthetic weight over the objectives. The non-dominated solutionsare ranked by the modified technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution. The ranking list helps arrive at rational decisionsand provide a unique solution. The optimum structure of the chamber is obtained and the final solution is discussed. The proposed optimizationframework improves the distribution profile of pressure and ion density.

        Structure of MnOx/TiO2 Catalysts and Their Catalytic Performance in the Gas-Phase Oxidation of o-Dichlorobenzene

        The influence of structure of MnOx/TiO2 catalysts and their catalytic oxidation of o-dichlorobenzene were examined in this study. MnOx/TiO2 catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), TEM, X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS) and FTIR for NH3 adsorption techniques. Experimental results indicated that the MnOx/TiO2 catalyst prepared from manganese nitrate possessed the highest catalytic activity with a gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of 14,500 h-1. This activity may be due to a large amount of surface Mn2O3 species, the strong Brönsted and Lewis acidity and the combined TiO2 phases. Additionally, a possible reaction model from o-dichlorobenzene oxidation over MnOx/TiO2 catalyst was suggested based on the analysis.

        Dual-mode Distributed Model Predictive Control for Platooning of Connected Vehicles with Nonlinear Dynamics

        This paper presents a dual-mode distributed model predictive control (DMPC) strategy for the platooning of connected vehicles with nonlinear dynamics. A third-order nonlinear model is employed to describe the dynamic characteristics of vehicles. In order to deal with the system nonlinearity and enhance the control precision, a DMPC based optimization problem is formulated for the vehicle platoon control, in which the nonlinear dynamics and the input boundaries are both considered as its constraints. Then, a dual-mode structure with the control scheme from the optimization and a local state feedback controller is proposed to drive the vehicles to the desired platoon. Comparing with other vehicle platoon algorithms, the proposed dual-mode DMPC strategy can significantly reduce the computational burden and save communication resources. Furthermore, the iterative feasibility and the stability of proposed control system are strictly analyzed. In final, numerical simulations are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

        Investigation on complete characteristics and hydraulic transient of centrifugal pump

        An improved method was developed to obtain the complete characteristic of centrifugal pump. The conversion formula of complete characteristics is established based on the normal performance curve. An example was presented to illuminate the new method, and the complete characteristic curves of 14SA-10 centrifugal pump were obtained by the new method. The hydraulic transient of the centrifugal pump failure and start-up was simulated by method of characteristics (MOC), which quote the complete characteristics data. The results show that the inversion method is available to obtain the complete pump characteristic curves provided the normal performance curve. For hydraulic transient simulation, more accurate numerical result can be obtained, if the new model is adopted to convert the experimental normal performance curve to complete characteristics curve of centrifugal pump.

        Flexural Behavior and Prediction Model of Basalt Fiber/Polypropylene Fiber-Reinforced Concrete

        The flexural behavior of basalt fiber (BF)/polypropylene fiber (PF)-reinforced concrete (BPRC) was investigated. When the content of BF and PF is 0.1%, the addition of fibers increases the compressive strength of concrete. A BF content of 0.1% has the most obvious effect on improving the compressive strength, but a hybrid fiber content of 0.2% exhibits a negative effect on the compressive strength. The addition of BF and PF can increase the flexural strength and the expansion tortuosity of the fracture cracks, thus enhancing the ductility of concrete. The hybrid fibers with content of 0.1% are most beneficial to increase the flexural strength. However, the ductility of concrete and the tortuosity of fracture crack decrease with the matrix strength, and the improvement proportion of fibers on the flexural strength also decreases. When the BF and PF are mixed, compared to the case of single fiber added, there is no significant change in the damage of BF, whereas the damage of PF is more severe. The flexural toughness index FTδ effectively characterizes the change in the flexural toughness of BPRC. The hybrid fiber contents of 0.1% and 0.2% exhibit the most significant improving effect on FT-l/600 and FT-l/150, respectively. Considering the influence of fibers on the compressive strength, flexural strength and flexural toughness of concrete, a hybrid content of 0.1% is the optimal choice of fiber content. A prediction model for flexural strength of BPRC is proposed based on the composite material theory.

        Effects of sheep slaughter age on myogenic characteristics in skeletal muscle satellite cells

        Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of sheep slaughter age on myogenic characteristics in skeletal muscle satellite cells (SMSCs).Methods: Primary SMSCs were isolated from hind leg biceps femoris muscles of Wurank lambs (slaughtered at three months, Mth-3) and adults (slaughtered at fifteen months, Mth-15). SMSCs were selected by morphological observation and fluorescence staining. Myogenic regulatory factors (MRF) and myosin heavy chain (MyHC) expressions of SMSCs were analyzed on days 1, 3, 4, and 5.Results: The expressions of myogenic factor 5 (Myf5), myogenic differentiation (MyoD), Myf6, and myogenin (MyoG) in Mth-15 were significantly higher in Mth-15 than in Mth-3 on days 1, 3, and 4 (p<0.05). However, MyoG expression in Mth-15 was significantly lower than in Mth-3 on day 5 (p<0.05). The expressions of MyHC I, MyHC IIa, and MyHC IIx in Mth-15 were significantly higher than in Mth-3 on days 1 and 3 (p<0.05), and MyHC IIb were significantly lower than in Mth-3 on days 3 and 4 (p<0.05). In contrast, the expression of MyHC IIx in Mth-15 was significantly lower and MyHC IIb was significantly higher than in Mth-3 on days 5 (p<0.05).Conclusion: The slaughter age altered the expression of MRFs and MyHCs in SMSCs while differentiation, which caused the variation of myogenic characteristics, and thus may affect the meat quality of Wurank sheep.         <P>An effective strategy of “synthesizing an electron-acceptor composite (ZITI-m) by one-pot reaction” to improve photovoltaic performance is proposed. The ZITI-m composite is synthesized by one-pot Knoevenagel reaction of ZIT-2CHO and a mixture of INCN-2F and I-a, from which asymmetrical ZITI-3F and symmetrical ZITI-4F are separated. J71:ZITI-m-based OSC shows the highest PCE of 13.65 ± 0.13% with remarkable PCE of 13.85% than those based on J71:ZITI-3F (12.97 ± 0.15%) and J71:ZITI-4F (13.02 ± 0.13%) blends. The effect of acceptor ratio in the composite on OPV performance indicates that all PCEs of composite system are higher than those of the materials based on pure acceptors with a broad composition tolerance, which is ascribed to the synergistic effect of the ternary blend system.</P>

        Transcriptome analysis in different chieh‑qua cultivars provides new insights into drought‑stress response

        Drought, one of the crucial environmental constraints, seriously threats the quality and yield in chieh-qua. Therefore, cultivat-ing drought-tolerant variety is greatly necessary for its normal growth under water deficiency. However, at present, molecular knowledge on drought resistance is mostly unclear in chieh-qua. In the study, characteristics of two diverse genetic chieh-qua variety, A39 (drought-resistance) and H5 (drought-sensitivity), were analyzed. Under drought stress, H5 exerted high water loss rate, increased malonaldehyde (MDA) content, and decreased enzyme activity of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) compared with A39. In addition, based on the transcriptome results, we obtained a total of 1821 (511 up-regulated and 1310 down-regulated) and 2114 (1282 up-regulated and 832 down- regulated) differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the A39 versus H5 under normal and water-deficiency stress, respectively. Several DEGs involved in the cuticle synthesis (cytochrome P450 genes: CYP94A2, CYP86B1, CYP86A7), carbohydrate metabolism, and plant hormone signal transduction (small auxin-up RNA genes: SAUR32, SAUR72; JA-induced genes: TIFY 10A, TIFY 10C; ABA related genes: PYL2, PYL4) were explored and related to drought resistance. These expression patterns observed in the RNA-seq data were further confirmed with quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). In all, these results not only provided a new insight into analyzing genes of drought response, but also laid a foundation for isolating crucial genes involved in drought stress in chieh-qua.
